I thought his best performance was in Tick Tick Boom when he was an unknown. And he brought something new to Being Alive when he did Company.

I just got an email that Raul Esparza is among the performers at the Schwartz concert at Alice Tully next week. That's very short notice for me; wish I had time to go.

Great line up, Patina Miller, Judy Kuhn, George Takei, Raul...many more..

Smidge said "Please don't tease Jane. How wonderful would that be?"

He did tell me once that he would love to play that role but as much as I love Raul and Hedwig, I don't see a happy marriage there. I agree that Tick Tick Boom was his best work.

And... now we get to see Raul Esparza as Senator Marco Rubio (and Senator Edward J. Markey) in the Public Theater's staged reading of ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN? Those announced to join him include Alex Baldwin, Walter Bobbie, Ellen Burstyn, Linda Emond, Bill Irwin, David Costabile, Staceyanne Chin, Aasif Mandvi, Joe Morton, Denis O'Hare, Ron Rifkin, ReGina Taylor, Yul Vazquez, Ivan Hernandez, Nathan Osgood, and New Yorker Editor David Remnick as Al Franken.

That's an amazing assemblage - I'm excited to be at Town Hall tomorrow night.

Saw him last night in the Schwartz event - was very good.  I'm sure he was there since John Doyle was the director.  He introduced Raul as having been nominated in every Tony category he could be nominated in, plus as the only "Bobby" (in refernce to Company)....  I agree.

He was one of the last performers.  He did two songs (one right after the other), don't recall the name of the first one (which was very good), and then "Defying Gravity" from Wicked.....

His first song was "Chanson" from "The Baker's Wife."

Thanks - didn't see that play.  Was very good though!  Wife would have preferred an all-Raul concert of course!

Not unless you shoot him.
