and this is just the beginning. If the show is a hot ticket, I would imagine the producers would try and keep it open through the spring & summer of 2015. Hunchback could even hold off until spring 2016 if necessary.

I've always had a fondness for this play, and the casts here are pretty superb. Although, there are some cases where I wish that a certain actor performing in one cast was matched with a different actor from another cast. But what can you do? If it ends up running longer, it will be interesting to see who they can bring in. Given that the commitment is short, I wonder if they could get more people to commit who otherwise wouldn't want to do a full Broadway run.

Did anyone else read the cast bios? I was especially amused by a typo in Mia Farrow's, "Mia has appeared in more than 40 films including 33 with Woody Allen. They include Zelig, Broadway Danny Rose, Purple Rose of Cairo, Radio Days, Hannah and Her Sisters, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Shadows and Fog, Alice..."

So all but seven of her movies were made with that awful nasty Woody Allen, whom she loathes? Some publicist may lose his or her job over that. You'd think the proofing would've caught it.

It does seem odd that Farrow would promote her association with a man she's spent the last twenty years publicly deriding. That said, stranger things have happened. I've seen other bios of Farrow that prominently list her Woody Allen credits, if not mentioning him by name.

They made 13 films together, so I'm guessing the "33" is a basic simple typo.

Yes, 13 is a staggering proportion of 40, which addresses your other point. One might argue, had she not made the Allen films, other projects could've come her way. Or not. She wasn't a terribly respected or sought-after actor. She made an iconic classic, "Rosemary's Baby," and an infamous near disaster, "Gatsby," her performance an arch mis-fire. "Hannah and her Sisters" re-introduced Farrow as a charming, viable, luminous leading lady. And she stretched mightily in the other roles, notably "Broadway Danny Rose," a part one might argue, that no other director would see her in. I think her honesty is highlighting almost 1/3 of her films in her bio is necessary and commendable. Those films allowed Farrow to grow measurably as an artist.

I am most excited to see Angelica Huston. Diana Rigg is up there too.

I must be in the minority that prefers the early Gatsby to the mess of a version with DiCaprio. I thought Farrow was actually very good-she was perfect as Daisy (a rather shallow character) and I thought Redford was perfect. (I also loved her in Rosemary's Baby. Nothing besides these two films are on my must watch list.)

I hope it at least lasts into the new year. I'd love to see Anjelica. It could be like After Midnight where the announced star replacements never actually happen.

I agree. I may be proven wrong, but I don't see 2014 audiences plunking down $127 (at eight performances a week) to hear Mia Farrow and Brian Dennehy reading from scripts for two hours. It's a lovely play, but its pleasures are usually best appreciated in venues that serve its humble ambitions.
