BULLETS is one of the worst evenings of theater I've ever experienced. Definitely not worth the time or money.

Bullets is worth it. Newsies great choreography and little else. Still trying to figure out how it was won , especially since most of the score was from the movie, best score over Bonnie & Clyde

For all you Wildhorn haters, out of 6 shows he has done on Broadway, 3 have been nominated for Best Score Tonys. It should have been 4 with J/H. Not a bad track record

Stay as far away from ROCKY as you can.

I was less than enthusiastic about "Rocky" as well.

I must say that "Newsies" wouldn't be at the top of my must see list either.

Rent the film of Bullets and skip the musical.

I guess it depends on what appeals to you more, ie. spectacle or substance (that's not a dig), but some of the shows vary in ways. Rocky is an overblown spectacle, Newsies is great choreography, but simple plot, and Bullets, can be a little crass, but definitely has more of a classic musical comedy feel- and is also overblown! Whatever you are more into I guess!

How duplicitous! You leave out/change salient facts:
1) He was nominated twice, not three times (Civil War and Bonnie and Clyde only).
2) It's 7 shows, not 6; he also wrote a significant part of Victor/Victoria. It wasn't nominated.
2) In 1999, every new score was nominated because there were so few - even the incidental music to Twelfth Night was nominated; Wildhorn still lost (Civil War).
3) In 2012 (Bonnie and Clyde), every new score was again nominated, except for Spider-Man and Lysistrata Jones, including 2 shows that were plays with music, rather than musicals. It still lost.

Ignore last post re Rocky

To Newintown

You are right that it was only 2 as Scarlet was nominated by drama desk or outer critics circle & not the Tony. He wrote I believe 3 songs for Victor To you it may be significant but I beg to differ. Score 1 for you and 1 for me

For Victor

Trust Me

Living in The Shadows

3 songs out of 16 listed in CD is not a major part of it.

"But, if Corey is really bored, why can't he just leave if he has several opportunities/job offers? "

He signed a contract, and just breaking it is a dick move. I'm sure he'll leave in September when it's up.

Oh, Roxy, I'm not keeping "score;" and I don't mind if you think Wildhorn's music is the most gorgeous stuff you've ever heard. I just advise that we don't make up phony "facts" to support our subjective preferences. It ain't kosher.

I would suggest skip Newsies. Rocky is really worth seeing - one of the most unique theatrical events to come along in some time - the staging alone is worth the price of admission

I saw Newsies with the OBC and wasn't that impressed to begin with. I liked it, but I'm glad I didn't pay any more than what I did and I have no desire to see it again. It was better than the film version, though.
