Except the audience will hope that the gun shows up when Parker first opens her mouth. I can't take another one of Parker's crazy performances. She needs to play normal for awhile.

I think Sarah Paulson could definitely be perceived as simple and country. Jessica Lange, maybe not so much, though I'd still kill to see her do it. I think they'd bring a unique intensity to it. I don't know that "county folk" is that essential to the play. Maybe I've never thought of it that way as much as I concentrate on the mother/daughter relationship.
