I have never seen standing room at this theater. It's a pretty small theater.

I stood for "How to Succeed", so the theater definitely has it, but no idea if it is implemented for this show.

Any one rushed lately? Wondering if it has gotten much crazier since the Tony noms came out. Thanks!

wicked-it sure has. A friend of mine said it's grown exponentially since then (not exaggerating-check the Rush Report link-it's really bad).

Can you paste the Rush Report link for me? I'm not sure I know to what you're referring. I'm looking to go next week sometime and trying to get a grasp on timing. Thanks!

No I understand the policy. I can find that multiple places. I'm trying to find out roughly what time people are getting there prior to tbe box office opening and where they ended up in line and whatnot.

Where are the rush seats for Kinky now? Iluvtheatertrash and I went during previews and he was able to get rush twice in the boxes. They were wonderful seats compared to the boxes at the Music Box.

The Hirschfeld could definitely accommodate standing room- I did it for Hair a few times.

I was way far back in the line Wednesday morning, and when the representative announced they were out of rush seats, he also announced standing room. Not the most winning way of explaining it, but it seems they are selling standing room for the show.

Bumping this.

I plan on rushing Kinky on Sunday. How crazy has it been lately? What time should I get there to ensure that I will get a ticket? And SRO is still an option right? What time do they start selling those tickets?
Sorry I'm asking so many questions!

I would say if you are not in line by 6:30/ 7 am from what I have been seeing walking past the theater, you are not getting tickets. People start lining up at 5:00am!

If anyone's curious I rushed Kinky Boots today, and arrived in line at 7:30. I was about 7th in line and easily got a ticket. Orchestra Row E, partial view. Great seat. Loved the show. Also it was a Sunday so the box office opened two hours later than usual (12). It will probably get crazier after the Tony Awards.

So that would mean when the box office opens at it's normal 10 am on every other day of the week, 5:30 a.m. would be about right.

I would be really surprised if they don't change to lottery soon.

Standing room is sold only when the show is sold out. Sometimes that occurs at 10am and other times it doesn't occur until 7:30pm.

I rushed today, in the pouring rain. I was late leaving the house because I figured no one else would show up. Wrong! I got there around 7:15 and was about 14th in line. (The first person on line arrived at 5:15.) A couple of people ahead of me were buying one ticket, but most were buying two. I'll be in the left box. The ticket is stamped partial view, so I'll see what that means.

I had been planning to wait on line for Comedy of Errors, but Kinky is a great plan B. I'm really happy to see it before the Tonys!

I've rushed twice for Kinky last week and never arrived that early... We rushed on Thursday and got there around a quater past 8 and were 13th and 14th in line. We got tickets in the left box. We tried again on Sunday and got to the theatre around nine and were 20th and 21st in line... Some guy at the stagedoor said they normally had 20-30 tickets. We were worried but decided to stay and buy normal tickets in the cheapest category if we didn't get rush tickets. This time they had 50 rush tickets for sale so we got tickets without problems, this time in the right box.
50 sounds like a lot and we were wondering where the rest of them are located (I counted 30 or so box seats) but as someone posted earlier they seem to sell orchestra seats as well.
The box seats are fine. They are slightly restricted as you have people in front of you blocking the view but it's not that bad. They are very close to the stage and worth the money.

I rushed today. I went to Pippin first, but there were already over 25 people in line at a little before 7, so I didn't want to take my chances. (The first people got there at 3 am, for anyone who's keeping tabs.) I got to the Hirschfeld around 7 am and was (I think) around 17th in line. I left right after I got my tickets, but there were probably over 30 people in line. Not sure how many tickets were sold. I got box seats, partial view.

If these are the "good" box seats, the ones at the Music Box must be really bad. I enjoyed the show a lot, and I'm really glad I endured the rain to get the tickets, but my seat was really awful. I think that SOME of the seats in the boxes are okay-to-good, but if you're not seated on the side of the stage, you are going to miss a lot. (The boxes have 14 seats each, arranged in two rows, except for a row with three seats.) I ended up standing for most of Act 1. Then, at intermission, my friend and I switched seats, and I could see better (the view was still obstructed). The advantage is that you are close to the action.

It's a fun fun show, very well staged, with some powerful performances. Annaleigh's is among them! She really brought it. Amazing! I know I will enjoy the Tony broadcast more now that I have seen Kinky, and I think it has a great shot at picking up some major awards.

My box seat was a perfect view- not obstructed at all. I was in the seat closest to the orchestra, 2nd row.
