Yeah, just ask the actress he had fired from Growing Pains because his pure Christianity couldn't be tainted by working with someone with her oh so sordid past how kind and open he is. Or even the rest of the cast of the show; they've all spoken about the wonderful working conditions he created on that set. Such a good, respectable person.

Did you know that every day Mexican gays cross our borders and unplug our brain-dead ladies?

With their assistance, my family once found their way out of a desperate situation. I will always be grateful to the Salvation Army, and I seek out their red buckets every Christmas season.

You might want to read their statement regarding the LGBT community before riding this wave of hate.

Sorry but no. They are one of the largest providers of substance use treatment in the nation - but not for queer folks. If you identify as LGBTQ they will seek to convert and "save" before treating otherwise you're out. THIS is the reality of the ****ing Salvation Army today.

A lover of theater for decades. Teacher by day. Family man by night. See more theater than most, oftentimes a hesitant plus one.

Only a matter of time until we find that deleted scene in which Sister Sarah Brown says some SHOCKING things about Nicely-Nicely Johnson and Benny Southstreet while drunk in Havana.

OMG.  He is a <<edited by BWW staff>> person no matter how you put it. .  Before marriage rights were passed he was on every single talk show condemning it and condemning us..  Their entire family hides behind religion to promote hate .  It is all up there on the internet.    BTW; when the whole Chick-Fill_A controversy was in its prime;  Candace would tweet video messages with her family eating at the place and saying how they love it and love how they promote good and decent family values.  They are disgusting.

I realize that not every BW poster is a gay man, but for those of you who care, SA always has been homophobic and probably always will be. So many other worthy charities to contribute to, why waste our hard-earned money on people who hate us, either secretly or out in the open?

I never donate to SA given their past behavior, which only "changed" because they were forced into it due to backlash.

But in keeping with the spirit of the season, here are some great SA alternatives you can donate to:

Ali Forney Centerhttps://www.aliforneycenter.org/

Wonderful organization that provides meals, shelter, and other essential services to at risk and homeless LGBT youth. ALSO, superstar drag queen Marti Gould Cummings announced she would be taking donations of unwanted clothes at any of her shows through Christmas, to donate to Ali Forney. Follow her at @martigcummings to find her next gig.

Housing Workshttps://www.housingworks.org/donate

They do a ton of HIV/AIDS advocacy and support for the homeless. You can also donate goods via store drop off at one of their thrift store locations

Sylvia Rivera Law Projecthttps://srlp.org/donate/

providing important legal services to transgender and non-binary individuals, especially those who are low income or homeless.

GMHChttp://www.gmhc.org/donate-and-giving/individual-giving/donate-now

provides services to those living with HIV/AIDS, as well as providing vital free HIV and STI tests, and promotes sexual health awareness

If you don't find a Salvation Army Red Kettle nearby, you can donate here.

And if you do find one; don't be rude to the volunteer.  Instead of money put a little piece of paper in the bucket saying simply why you don't support them.  Like it has been said many times on this and other places.. their are plenty of other places to give charity to that don't have dirty hands with this gay hating clan. Certainly having Candace Cameron and her brother involved is a unwise way for them to create a new image for themselves.

My favorite Kirk Cameron performance was when he went to a college campus with some anti-evolution activist guy to try to explain to students why evolution was a hoax. Then a bunch of Biology majors and others spoke to them and one female student was taking her time to respectfully explain evolution to him and how scientific theory works in general. He looked like he was respectfully listening, but you could tell he did not understand any of it.

I feel this is not across the board with the Salvation Army. I have a friend who was out during rehab and employment with them. He  said his facility also has a trans homeless shelter. This has been within the past 4 years.

Just give the world Love.

He's a good, respectable person.

No, he's not:

But what if one of Cameron’s six kids ended up gay?
“I’d sit down and I’d have a heart to heart with them,” Cameron says. “Just like you would with your kids.”
Morgan interrupts: “But if one of my sons said that I’d say, ‘That’s great son, as long as you’re happy.’ What would you say?”
“Well, I wouldn’t say that’s great son as long as you’re happy,” Cameron responds. “I’m gonna say there’s all sorts of issues that we need to wrestle through in our life and just because you feel one way doesn’t mean we should act on everything that we feel.”

Sorry, but anyone who says that my marriage is unnatural, detrimental and DESTRUCTIVE is most definitely not good or respectable.

I second the Ali Forney Center as an extraordinary organization helping so many young people.  Here is their Amazon wish list of things you can purchase that will be distributed during the holidays.

Well if he had a durian up his clacker he would know the difference.

And good Lordy, after watching that banana crap I got on to a show called The War at Home with Rami Malek--it is off the charts gay and Malek, who I would marry yesterday, is super adorable, no wonder he makes a brilliant Queen.

Did you know that show was 'out' there?

Mad at myself now for...uh...years ago locking myself in the family bathroom for unusually long periods of time with my cousin's Tiger Beat magazines that featured pictures of Kirk Cameron. If he only know how much I loved him.

Mea Culpa.

Totally understandable, morosco.  He did look good in Z. Cavariccis.

The Salvation Army loves me? Not buying it.

Chick-fil-A loves me? Not buying it.

Kirk Cameron? Not buying anything he's selling.

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

If they are, good for them. But there are gay charities that do the same work in most communities of any size.

Try Out of the Closet (in Los Angeles), or Revivals (in Palm Springs). Both will take almost anything you give them, while Good Will (the SA affiliate) comes to your house and decides what they want, leaving the rest behind.

(It's not that I want a charity to be saddled with my trash, but they have the trucks and seem to know where the dump is located for anything they can't use. Disposal of larger items is always a problem for residents of cities.)

What nonsense! As if most of we gays were going to vote Republican!

We voted for Obama in 2008, when he was opposed to marriage equality, and we voted for him again in 2012. I take him at his word that the women in his family changed his views; the same has happened in many other families.
