Laughed pretty hard at this one when you see that Phil and Luke may not necessarily be the dumbest ones in the room!

Just a heartbreaking episode, in both good ways and bad ways. So many wonderful moments.

I was a little off put by the new Lily at the beginning of the season, but she has grown on me so much over the course of this season, and her moment with Jay backstage at the recital was just too sweet.

That was my favorite part too.

It was a great season finale. I am curious to see how Haley going to college will affect the show next season. I'm also excited to see Gloria's new baby arrive.

This may be one of my favorite episodes of any sitcom. I just loved the sudden change in tone with the Mitchell/Cameron incident. When they laid on the ground outside the gas station... perfect. Obviously, some very funny moments as well. I just simply loved the dramatic moments added into the episode. It worked well, and you felt something for these characters. It was great.

The cast reached a new deal after contract disputes. I'm really glad that it all worked out.

Just re watched the 3rd season finale. The first time I have cried watching a comedy series. I am unbelievably excited for the 4th season. While it seems about out of the park, I can't help think Gloria is going to give Cam and Mitch the baby?

But it's not some random pregnancy; it's her child with Jay. I can't see either of them just giving it away, no matter how much Mitch and Cam want a baby.

I think we're going to get Jay struggling with being the father of a newborn, which could be really wonderful--and if you think about it, much fresher than seeing Mitch and Cam do it (which we've already done).

The whole stuffed animals bit. Not JUST the punchline/image but the whole BRILLIANT way it was set up. Larfed till I lost my breath.

The stuffed animals were funny, yes. I've lost interest in the show, I think. Since last season it's lost everything I liked about it and replaced it with misogyny, smugness and creepiness. Phil's got this darkness about him now that doesn't make sense. Claire's just tense and nuts. Her neck muscles must hurt from all the clenching. Luke's getting more cruel. Haley and Alex are stereotypes. The other characters have lost something too but it's hard to say what that is. Maybe it's lost a sense of fun.

I'm going to keep watching and I do still enjoy it, but I agree nygrl. They've all become almost shells of their original characters and playing on what we used to laugh at ie Gloria's accent. And re the stuffed animals, I found it quite predictable and not quite necessary, again shells of what it used to be.

I thought the season premiere was a perfect object. It was beautifully done. I laughed, cried, and wondered just what the hell The New Normal thinks it can bring to the topic of unusual families that this show doesn't already do, coming from a place of love?

Wasn't in love with the season premiere, but I still laughed and there were some touching moments. I disagree that the show has lost something. I think like all great sitcoms it's simply changing as the characters get older and go through more experiences. What I've always found admirable about the writing on this show is that while the show is always humorous (sometimes insanely so), it has always stayed faithful to the spirit of the characters.

The animals were by far the biggest laugh of the episode.

i really enjoy this show, it's probably the only thing on tv I will alter my night to watch. I am looking forward to this season, especially the episode with guest star, Matthew Broderick. I have come to love Phil, a character I didn't really get in the first year. His family makes the show for me.

I still find the season premiere lacking, however the episodes last night were fantastic! Laughter to tears in seconds. It's scary how much the Dunphy's mirror my family...

I also need Phil'sosophy to be a real thing. That's what my family would get for Hannukah.
