It seemed in the first segment thatt Oprah is taking credit for the whole idea of a Color Purple musical. Then the cast performed and she changed her tune.
Great performances....should really buy a ticket. Updated On: 11/11/05 at 04:35 PM
Not really. She admitted that she was a late-comer to the project, and she had Scott Sanders (I think that's his name) there.
"Chicago is it's own incredible theater town right there smack down in the middle of the heartland. What a great city! I can see why Oprah likes to live there!" - Dee Hoty :-D
That performance was amazing. It makes me want to see this show.

the performance was amazing i agree.. i dont think oprah tried to take credit for the idea of the musical..i think the color purple is just something close to her heart since it started her career. Updated On: 11/11/05 at 05:02 PM
I was hysterically crying during "The Color Purple" and laughing out loud and cheering during "Hell No". That was A-W-E-S-O-M-E. I really cant wait for this show. Wow. Just...wow.
Wow...I was blown away. LaChanze is amazing. I didn't get a chance to see Hell No (I'm watching it now) but The Color Purple (the song) was ammmaaazzziiinnnggg!
That show is going to be an unbelievable success. I mean, how can it not be with Oprah backing it? But it looks like it will be really good, too, so that's exciting. When does it open?
I agree, the performances were really amazing, and I cried a little during "The Color Purple," but that was partly because the performers and Oprah were crying.
That was amazing!!! I just tried to buy tickets online and every weekend performance before opening night is sold out! I'm praying that i get rush tickets next weekend. Has there been a line at the box office before it opens?
Wow, what a performance...the last song "Color Purple" gave me goose bumps. I'm watching this for sure. And it's close to my office.....(logs off and runs to Broadway Theater box office) .....that ticket lady better not be bitchy this time. :)
