The second Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's 1947 drama All My Sons will begin previews at a Broadway theatre to be announced Sept. 15 with an official opening scheduled for Oct. 2.
According to a casting notice, the production will be helmed by Simon McBurney, the British director who is the founder and artistic director of Complicite. McBurney received 1998 Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations for his direction of The Chairs...

Borrowed the play to read tonight. Really looking forward to it.

Simon McBurney? Of Complicite? What a very odd, interesting choice!
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

Wonderful news! I've never seen Sons in performance; however, I've read the play and thought it was fantastic. I can't wait to finally see it in performance.
October 2 is also the announced opening date for the MTC To Be Or Not To Be! So... what happens? Does one of the two have to change its opening date? Who decides? Or can two shows open the same night?
This was the first production that totally devastated me. I remember walking out at the end just blubbering.
The director came over to ask me if I was okay, and I just couldn't speak.
What a powerful piece of theatre!

This definitely sounds like a good fit for the Jacobs. If they're really going after Katie Holmes, the Booth would be too small. I hate saying that because I love the Booth theater as a space.
