Peter Marks leaving Washington Post  Dec 19 2023, 11:30:35 AM

annang said: "Isn’t he the one who never bothered to move to DC, and has lived in NY the whole time he was the Post’s theater critic? The Post should have a full time theater critic, but it should be someone who actually lives here."

I'm pretty sure that's not true.

"Oklahoma!" with Jackman in theaters today  Jul 16 2023, 05:27:06 PM

Anyone else go? I saw it with a decent crowd in Alexandria, Va. I hadn't seen it in about 20 years. I enjoyed it, and I'm proud to say I got all the preshow trivia questions correct.

Treat Williams Has Passed Away  Jun 13 2023, 12:58:49 PM

I saw him on Broadway in the early ‘80s in “The Pirates of Penzance.” He replaced Kevin Kline. IBDB says he took over the role in August 1981.

Sit in the mezzanine. You are one step’s height above the person in front of you.

The Merrily We Roll Along documentary, which disappeared from Netflix, will be back on platforms such as Amazon, according to the internet. Do we believe it? I will happily pay for it.

Anderson Cooper says seeing Richard Gere shirtless in  Jun 27 2022, 07:51:55 PM

I saw that production. I don’t remember much about it, but I don’t think there was nudity. That I would remember.

Bad lyrics by good lyricists  Sep 4 2018, 09:44:14 AM

West Side Story.

"Smoke on your pipe and put that in."

Also: "I'm depraved on account I'm deprived." No way any self-respecting Jet would have said that--or even known the definition of "depraved."

I'm sure there are more. Sondheim was a baby then. Or perhaps Bernstein is to blame.

I’m amazed at how easy that was. I used the app shortly after 10. Took me a couple of tries. I got third row center mezzanine for an August matinee.

Lady Bird and Merrily We Roll Along  Nov 27 2017, 10:56:50 AM

And the kids' auditions were songs from other Sondheim shows (Company, Into the Woods).

Because she has to have the last word.

I really like "The Highest Judge of All."

Bruce Springsteen to Make Broadway Debut at the Walter Kerr - November 2017  Sep 7 2017, 09:06:24 AM

I have a question--hope someone can help. I am on standby. It says if you get selected, you will get a text message with a link to a page to select the performance you want to attend. So that sounds as if you have to buy the tickets on your phone. But it also says you should use your desktop/laptop to buy the tickets. So how do you click on the link if it's on your phone, not on your laptop? Thanks.

O'Hara and Pasquale will star in a concert staging of Brigadoon  Jun 21 2017, 02:35:06 PM

Similar situation a couple of years ago--he had to pull out of the R&H evening at Carnegie Hall because of filming, maybe for The Good Wife? Seems to me you have to go for the longer-term, better-paying gig.

Simple solution: Take your watch off

I can't win with this show. I want to sit in the front row because I don't want my view obstructed. So first it was Row C, then I switched to Row B, and now Row A is available for $399 with a stage that appears to be stiff-neck-inducing high. I feel like taking my bat and ball and
