Shuffle Along previews  Mar 13 2016, 10:50:33 PM

I'll be seeing the show in 3 weeks! I can't wait. Given the cast and creative team, I have high expectations!

WICKED: Broadway vs. Tour  Mar 11 2016, 04:18:43 PM

I would always suggest a broadway cast over a national tour....

The quality performer by performer is almost always noticably superior

I disagree completely. It's one thing if you are comparing the touring cast to the original, Tony-winning Broadway stars of a show. But especially for Wicked, there is no difference in quality of

Wtf!  Mar 4 2016, 10:09:52 PM

Tony Perkins is a worthless human being. I've always hated the guy, but this just gets me extra mad.

Most Beautiful Touring Theatres  Mar 3 2016, 07:24:24 PM

The Fox in Atlanta, like others have said, it stunning. It's an amazing space to be in, but it was a big movie palace, so there are about 4500 seats. If you have a bad seat (and there are a lot bad seats), then it can be a real pain to see a show. It's just so cavernous. But architecturally, it's a marvel.

Tuck's Peppy Press Performance  Mar 3 2016, 07:50:46 AM

FindingNamo said: "Gee, I don't get a sense from each and every person interviewed how long they've been working on it.  Does anybody know?"

They've been working on it for over a year (at least). I saw it twice in atlanta last january and february (2015).

Broadway.com a rip off?  Mar 2 2016, 04:21:07 PM

The only time I ever got a good priced ticket on Broadway.com was for Curious Incident. I would never recommend them.

Audra McDonald Theatre  Feb 28 2016, 03:07:52 PM

Maybe in 30 years? If that happens, I don't think it will be in the near future.

Favourite pre-theatre Times Square restaurant?  Feb 26 2016, 09:39:58 PM

I really enjoy Osteria al Doge. As long as I don't order the creme gnocchi, it's way too filling.

Hairspray Live! DREAMCASTS  Feb 25 2016, 07:35:04 PM

"

Annaleigh Ashford would make an unconvincing Amber Von Tussle because she just seems like way too nice of a person, in my opinion.

Falsettos to Return to Bway Fall 2016  Feb 25 2016, 04:33:10 PM

This may be a dumb question, but how can it be at the Walter Kerr if it is a Lincoln Center Theatre production?

Hamilton movie??  Feb 21 2016, 09:53:56 PM

Call_me_jorge said: "I want to say the Hamilton movie, because more people want it."

Why do you say more people want it? It seems like people have been wanting a Wicked movie for years. People aren't over the stage version of Hamilton yet, in fact most people haven't seen it.

Musical Suggestion - Modern and Catchy  Feb 7 2016, 06:31:40 PM

If you haven't seen Kinky Boots, "modern and catchy" describes it to a tee. I'll also suggest Something Rotten, as it is in fact a modern musical (set in the distant past).

How do you organize your playbills?  Feb 2 2016, 11:37:00 PM

I keep most of mine in binders. But the new ones (all those from the past year basically) are in a stack on my bookshelf. I should do something about that, but I guess I'm too lazy.

Aaron Tveit as Danny Zuko  Feb 2 2016, 08:28:18 PM

He certainly looked too old for the part, but I thought he was phenomenal nonetheless. I am a fan of his in general, so perhaps I'm biased, but I really prefer his Danny to John Travolta's. And I hate Grease with a passion. I can't stand it at all. But I watched it for Aaron, and he did make some numbers bearable.

Front Balcony of St James theater  Jan 27 2016, 10:16:50 PM

I sat front row of the balcony for Bullets Over Broadway and it was fine. It's high up but worth saving the money in my opinion.

Hillary's response to George Takei's invitation  Jan 24 2016, 04:56:28 PM

qolbinau said: "It's a lovely letter. However, I am very disappointed that George Takei endorses Hillary Clinton and not Bernie Sanders. Less than 3 years ago Hillary wouldn't have even supported his marriage?"

Less than 3 years ago? Did Hillary not make a "gay rights are human rights" speech 4 years ago in Switzerland?

What's with the hatred of Cats?  Jan 22 2016, 07:03:04 PM

"While I am not a big fan of the production, I think Cats shows ALW at his best."

I disagree. I think Cats is probably ALW at his worst. Evita is ALW at his best.

You mean almost 16 years?

Hamilton in the Blizzard  Jan 21 2016, 11:06:59 PM

This is slightly unrelated to the original topic, but I don't want to start another Hamilton thread, so, here's my question:

How do resale tickets work? I was trying to help a family member look for tickets to Hamilton on ticketmaster, and of course the only seats available were resale seats, some which go for over $1,000 a piece. Who sets these resale prices? The production? Ticketmaster? Or the individual who is reselling them?

What's with the hatred of Cats?  Jan 21 2016, 09:42:34 PM

Like broadwayboy said, it's just a bunch of cats running (dancing) around onstage for a couple hours for absolutely no reason, so you feel kind of ridiculous watching it. And the fact that so many people love such a thing makes it seem that much weirder. To me, it's like the Donald Trump of Broadway shows: it's absurd in the first place, so then you detest it even more when a lot of people like it.
