You have misunderstood  Mar 4 2008, 02:38:18 PM
She has been working on an album recently; it's most likely that she used this cruise to work out any kinks in her live performances and to test out new material.

Plus, like many of you said, it's a paid vacation....I'd take it :)

(Yes, Queen Sized wasn't that great of a movie; but I'd put that less on Nikki and more on the movie as a whole. I thought she was great in it, but she couldn't carry that whole movie on her shoulders by herself)

re: The 'I LOVE ZAC EFRON' Thread  Aug 9 2007, 09:08:54 PM
biggest CHENO fan, the soundtrack leaked BIG TIME yesterday on the internet. I got the soundtrack from my 17-year-old sister (but I preordered it a while ago, so I don't feel too guilty about that).

I can't tell yet whether or not I like this soundtrack better than the first one. I definitely like Zac's voice MUCH MORE than Drew Seeley's voice, so that's nice, but I don't really like a good half of the songs themselves.

Has anyone read the whole Rolling Stone interview?

i agree with you on the velveeta-ness, mateo. however, i know i'll be humming some of the songs for a while.

zac's voice in "gotta go my own way" sort of reminds me of adam pascal's voice as roger in RENT.

I'm glad he was able to sing on the Hairspray soundtrack as well as in the sequel to High School Musical. I like Zac's voice much better than the guy who did the voice for the 1st one.

*sigh* He makes me feel like I'm 15 again. Definition of a dreamboat, I'm tellin' you.

re: The 'I LOVE ZAC EFRON' Thread  Aug 8 2007, 12:08:53 AM
his hotness factor goes WAAAAAY up with the dark hair.

but you know, i'd settle for the zac right there on that rolling stone cover.

sweet jesus. i am a grown ass woman, and i'm getting all giggly just lookin' at him.

re: 'Hairspray' Star, Blonsky, Lines Up Next Film with Teen Comedy 'Harold'  Jul 31 2007, 02:00:40 PM
Oh man, I sincerely hope this movie will be good. But the actors named thus far make me nervous......
re: Hairspray Sing-A-Long (NY kick off- Aug 1)  Jul 31 2007, 12:30:21 PM
Ha! Awesome, I was right. Downtown Century SF, and Emeryville. I can't wait!
re: Hairspray Sing-A-Long (NY kick off- Aug 1)  Jul 31 2007, 12:43:46 AM
since it says 30+ cities across the country, it's probably safe to assume that there will only be one theatre per city that actually plays the singalong version. in sf, i wouldn't be surprised if it's one of the downtown theatres (century in the mall, or the amc in the metreon). jimnysf, maybe it'll even end up in emeryville, and you won't have to worry at all. :)
re: Hairspray Movie to Have Sing-Along Screenings  Jul 27 2007, 06:19:44 PM
I'm too excited about this! It's difficult to watch the movie and refrain from singing, but I've been able to do it so far. I'm glad I'll be able to watch it on the big screen AND sing my heart out!
re: What Should Be Next for Nikki Blonsky??  Jul 27 2007, 05:03:16 PM
I watched an interview today saying that she can't really talk about it yet, but they should be finalizing the deal within the next couple of days, so hopefully we'll hear about it soon!
re: HAIRSPRAY at the Box Office...  Jul 27 2007, 03:18:28 PM
Marc Shaiman also said in his Q&A thread that they spent around $75 million on publicity and other related things, so the movie does indeed need to make $150 million.
re: Hairspray Screening Disaster - New Line Responds to the Plebians  Jul 26 2007, 04:04:41 PM
Has anyone from the SF screening received an email? It sounds like they're only responding to NYC attendees.
re: Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh...I love Amanda Bynes  Jul 22 2007, 12:04:24 PM
I didn't really like her before this movie, but was pleasantly surprised with her portrayal of Penny. She played the ultimate sidekick: wide-eyed, supportive, sweet and innocent. Sure, her voice isn't the best one of the cast, but I thought she did a wonderful job. I remember reading somewhere that Adam Shankman wanted her to "hold back" a little when she sang, because he felt that Penny was supposed to be in the process of "finding her voice" .

Of course, that could be completely made up, since I can't remember where I read that.

re: Is Zac Effron's Singing Dubbed in High School Musical  Jul 22 2007, 11:58:33 AM
Here's an excerpt from a recent article about it:

I asked Zac Efron about his singing in the movies. He acknowledged that Drew Seeley, a Lake Brantley High grad, was warbling in the first film.

"I have a unique-sounding voice," Efron said Saturday. "Drew is much more of a singer. He's trained. He's a professional singer. He's very talented. I consider myself a regular kid that can carry a tune. It's not something I set out to do. I've been able to sing, but I don't want an

re: HAIRSPRAY Questions answered here! (inevitable Spoilers)  Jul 22 2007, 11:16:54 AM
I think it'd be fine to take your niece. There are little things like teenagers smoking in the bathroom, and if she's a Zac Efron fan, she might be a little bit shocked when he says "ass" and "damn" (my 14-year-old cousin gasped). But ultimately, this is a PG film. Yes it does deal with racism and prejudice in a big way, but it certainly isn't anything that she hasn't already learned about in school.

re: Did you sing along?  Jul 20 2007, 11:38:23 PM
I did my best not to. But I definitely mouthed most of it :) I couldn't help it!
re: HAIRSPRAY Questions answered here! (inevitable Spoilers)  Jul 20 2007, 11:34:26 PM
I just got back from watching it, and I can honestly say I was ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY. I knew it would be a smash, but I don't think I could have predicted just how moving it was! Seriously, moving to the point where I was sincerely crying during the march, and moving to the point where I had to fight to resist the urge to get up and dance in the aisles! Simply wonderful. So congratulations, Marc!

I know this will be difficult, since I'm sure it's kinda like asking you to choose your
