Ooooh sounds like fun! Shall we bring our own sheet music?

re: Beauty and the Beast Final Performance Contest Winners Announced  Jul 24 2007, 01:26:46 AM
Congratulations Winners!

Yes it would have been nice to attend, since we'll be in NY for our Theatre Trip, but that's just the way it goes!

I'm looking forward to seeing as many shows as possible, starting tomorrow night (24th thru 1st). As soon as we get our bags in the room, we're out the door to see what we can see!

Gypsy on the 25th!

Thanks for all the info guys, it really helped us plan the trip!

Thank you Ben! We thought we'd go to the movie during the day when we don't have a live theatre opportunity! Thanks for the info about the Lowes!
wed matinee dress code  Jul 22 2007, 10:40:33 AM
I know this is an old thread but I did want to do my due diligence and search the subject...

Do to the warmer weather at this time of year, do you see (think that) nice shorts (dockers) for gentlemen are considered acceptable? Naturally with a nice collared pull over.

Thank you as always...

re: Hairspray Reaction @ Your Theatre  Jul 22 2007, 10:31:46 AM
We'll be staying in Times Square staring Tuesday for our Theatre Trip, and thought it might be fun to see this with a NY audience, any suggestions as to what would be a good theatre for Hairspray?

Thanks!

re: Grey Gardens discount question  Jul 16 2007, 10:50:37 PM
Speaking for myself Brody...

I have the rare opportunity to have a Theatre vacation in NYC next week, only the 3rd time in my lifetime. I have supported the arts for decades in the communities that I've lived in, by purchasing tickets, volunteering front of house, back stage and onstage. I have two sons in college so their is precious little left over for me. So if I choose to fly across the country and spend my hard earned monies on airfare, hotel accomadations, dining, etc, using disc

re: which actress do you think will play a great Rose ?  Jul 15 2007, 11:07:20 PM
On Youtube I found Liza doing "Rose's Turn" amd I thought it was amazing, (horrid copy, bootleg I'm sure..don't tell anybody.. I don't know if it's still there, but if you get a chance...

I adore Liza and I would love to see her do it, but it's such a big commitment...not sure it would happen for her...But I'd buy a ticket if it did!

re: Grey Gardens: Cast on Fire  Jul 14 2007, 10:44:37 PM
Do you think that they may be available at TKTS for their last week? We'll be in town and would love to see this show, but geez hate to pay full price if I can help it. Or do you think I should try and order before we head east. Any advice?

Thank you!

re: Really stupid GYPSY question  Jul 14 2007, 01:51:48 PM
This is so fascinating, I've been pondering just this one line since I read this thread.

I think that Louise's "I thought you did it for me, Momma." is meant to be a jab to Rose (striking her at a very rare vulnerable moment) but also in Louise's heart of hearts she wished that indeed her mother was doing it for her. As a mother should do for their children.

re: Gypsy! Is Patti Coming out. LOL  Jul 14 2007, 01:27:15 PM
I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't go out the Stage Door during the run. It's such a demanding part, very draining. She'll need her energy to get to the car, get home, crawl into bed and prepare for the next day.

Gypsy Tickets for Sale  Jul 14 2007, 01:09:03 PM
I hope it's okay to post this, I'm new here and didn't see anything against it, but please let me know!

We have an extra two tickets for Tuesday July 24th. When the tickets first went on sale, I accidently bought the wrong night. (my bad) then turned around and bought a pair for when we would be in town. My dh put these up for sale on ebay last night, so if you know of anyone who would be interested let them know. They look like they are really great seats, first row of the the Grand Tier-center. (I'm short so I like this location). We have an excellent ebay reputation (as you'll see) so you can buy with confidence!

I'm so looking forward to seeing Gypsy when I do get to NYC...on the 25th!

re: GYPSY at TKTS  Jul 10 2007, 02:31:51 AM
Hello all! I've been reading the boards and getting very excited about our up coming trip to NYC! We had sealed the deal for NYC when we heard about Patti in Gypsy, and promptly got tickets. Only thing is i accidently ordered for the night before, and then ordered again for the next evening. I told my dh that we could sell them on ebay, but the tickets that have been up so far, no where near face value. Now, I'm all for a great deal at TKTS, and in fact that's where we'll get all our other
