Are the Drama League Awards ever an indicator for the TONYs? In other words, should Gatsby be worried?

(Haven't seen it, have no opinion, I just love awards season).

Did I miss it? Who is Dillamond?

Take it for what it's worth but I have on mildly good word that Platt was not the first pic, Gaga was. It was going to be a 30 day residency sold as "Gaga and Friends" much like she had with Tony but logistics and scheduling could never work out. 

 

Instead we get...Ben Platt...opening the most iconic house. Yowza. 

I assume Slater is headed back to London to finish Wicked. I believe it was heavily reported when the strike happened they had about 7-10 days of shooting left. 

This comes across bitter and desperate in my opinion. 

IMHO: these reviews are a win and put the movie back in the "Best Picture" race that it seemed to have briefly fallen out of. 

With all due respect...it's the Golden Globes. Have they ever been trusted or respected? SAG Awards and Critics Choice have become more indicative of who will win Oscar gold. 

Is Jerry's IG post from today? If so it appears they are in fact making changes as well as headed to the Shubert? 

I have to wonder if the show is frozen at least in Chicago but they're taking notes and planning to make any significant changes during the long hiatus to Broadway? Isn't it expected to take a bit to make it to the great white way?

I'd rather have it at a smaller theatre with limited seats than panning to extensive amounts of empty seats at Radio City...

Not sure whatever happened with this but I was told Julia Garner auditioned for this...

It seems to me the show banked on putting LMM's name on it and didn't get the return/following they expected. Is his name slowly losing momentum/drawing power?

Let this be a lesson that you cant but LMM on the marquee and think it's going to sell. 

From my understanding, the bottom left is the new entrance and marquee and the show in house will get the huge LED wall above it which is quite the space if you ask me. 

 

Wonder what it is?

I expect Shucked, SLIH and KA to see a nice bump. The press I'm seeing about the three, specifically around historic wins and a challenging TONYs is next level. 

Where is The Notebook at? Still in the mix? Feel like it got mostly good buzz and then went quiet. 

All signs point to LaChanze taking home two more Tony Awards tonight, good for her! 

Yeah, quite inappropriate of Denee to make someone else's special moment all about herself. She owes an apology to that educator who had a look of shock and stun and when the camera panned to him.
