Profile: I've done a little of everything. Acting, writing, company management, casting. Casting is my current focus. Although I'm a huge movie and TV fan, theater is my true love. There is nothing like it. The immediate rush it gives. I even feel good after seeing a bad show.

re: re: re: Sitting next to a celebrity at a theater  Jan 9 2010, 06:40:29 PM
Bartending at a new show is always the best way I get to see celebrities. A few personal favorites: Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, Warren Beatty and Annette Benning, and Angela Landsbury all came to see Inherit the Wind when I was working. But I've seen everyone from Peggy Pope (the original Margaret "the old lush" Foster from the movie 9 to 5) to Al Pacino.

As far as sitting, I was in the same row as Judith Light and her husband Robert Desiderio at an off-broadway play once, and I sa

re: Theater etiquette gone forever?  Jan 5 2010, 08:48:46 AM
As far as age, Shrek seemed to have no age restrictions. Every night I bartended there, the coat room was full of strollers. I guess the cutoff was around 2 years old actually. There was one night, it was raining, that a woman got up to the mezzanine wearing a rain poncho. I was at the mezz bar and saw her drop something, when she bent over to pick it up I saw two little legs dangling under the poncho. I looked up and caught the eye of an usher, who had also seen this. We gave each other a "WTF,
re: Shoot Out at the Marriott Marquis  Dec 11 2009, 08:05:40 AM
I was there. I work in the Broadway/New York store on the 45th st. side of the Marriott. Broadway Baby is our sister store, so two of my co-workers were there when the bullet came into the store. It was very tense and scary. It was the first time I distinctly heard actual gun shots. Thank God my friends were not injured, and no one else in the vacinity. Not a good day at all, especially trying to explain to people why they couldn't get to the other stores all day. "I'm so sorry, but someonewas s

I think in one of the spots, you can catch Patrick Swayze in Grease.
re: Comments on AVENUE Q - 8/31  Sep 1 2009, 10:48:01 PM
I was bartending last night, and a man came down right before intermission to check on his wife, who I came to understand had been in the bathroom the entire first act (I was out of the theater most of first act, so I didn't know any of this till the man came downstairs). She did not look well, and when we asked if we should get someone, she refused, and they left. Hope she's okay.

As for the glasses as opposed to the mugs, a few months ago, they changed merchandise companies, thus the

re: The new sound system at Phantom of the Opera  Aug 2 2009, 07:22:29 AM
My take on the sound system is, it's great because you can hear everything, and it's terrible because you can hear EVERYTHING, including those crazy guitar riffs.
re: Best 'Send in the Clowns' EVER!  Aug 2 2009, 07:15:17 AM
This is a favorite of mine, Dame Judi on a talkshow giving a stunning performance:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rEhOnd8S-8
re: Could SUNDAY in the Park with George work as a film?  Jul 19 2009, 06:35:26 AM
I've never been crazy about 'rotoscoping', like 'Waking Life', but for this film, for 'It's Hot Up Here',it would work perfectly.
re: The 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Nominations Announced  Jul 17 2009, 07:26:19 AM
I didn't see a listing for Individual Performance in Variety/Music Special, did they not do that category this year?
re: TALES OF THE CITY, the musical  Jul 13 2009, 07:07:38 AM
I am so looking forward to this show. It comes from one of my favorite books, and, although we haven't talked in a while, Jason Sellards (aka, Jake Shears) is a former roommate of mine, so this is very exciting on a few levels for me.
re: going through old playbills is fun!  Jul 5 2009, 06:41:39 PM
One of my favorites is my Playbill from the 1982(?) production of Othello with James Earl Jones and Christopher Plummer. It's always makes me happy to know I saw Dianne Weist a Desdemona and Kelsey Grammer as Cassio before I knew who they were.
re: List of planned movie-musicals?  Jul 3 2009, 10:34:22 PM
Maybe Drowsy could be a sort of Purple Rose of Cairo in reverse, where he's in an old movie house and he gets pulled into the film.
re: Okay, whats the greatest performance you've ever seen on stage?  Jun 19 2009, 06:55:04 AM
Even though not a Broadway performance, I feel remiss in not mentioning Meryl Streep in Mother Courage in Central Park. Stunning.
re: Okay, whats the greatest performance you've ever seen on stage?  Jun 18 2009, 07:20:46 AM
Just turned 44.

Play: Christopher Plummer and James Earl Jones in Othello
Maggie Smith in Lettice and Lovage.

Musical: Tyne Daly in Gypsy (Yes, I said Tyne Daly!!)
Hugh Jackman in The Boy from Oz.

re: 'I Don't Get It': Well-Liked Performers You Don't Enjoy  May 28 2009, 07:27:18 AM
Her name was mentioned early on, but I just don't get Karen Ziemba. Brilliant dancer, but that's about it for me. Her singing is just okay, and I don't care for her acting at all.
Tony nominee Joseph Gordon-Levitt!?!?!  May 7 2009, 05:26:58 PM
Was looking over the nominations and noticed that 'Third Rock from the Sun' star Joseph Gordon-Levitt was a producer on Slava's Snow Show. Just found that funny.
re: Easter Bonnet Competition  Apr 30 2009, 07:34:29 AM
Liza was clearly having a great time, and she looked wonderful, but the voice just wasn't there.
re: Easter Bonnet Competition  Apr 29 2009, 07:23:38 AM
Naked Boys Singing took over this years serious dance piece from The Lion King, and did a beautiful job, it was quite moving. But the highlight of the show to me (on Tuesday) was Tovah Feldshuh. What an incredibly funny woman. She was only introducing skits, but she kept the whole audience in stitches. My favorite was a joke I believe she also told at the Broadway beauty pageant. The one about the jewish blind man reading the matzoh and saying "Who wrote this ****." Hysterical.

re: R.I.P. Bea Arthur dead at 86.  Apr 26 2009, 07:21:00 AM
A truly great actress, with the best comic timing ever. She will be sorely missed.
re: How far is Billy Elliot from the Marriott hotel?  Jan 28 2009, 08:02:31 AM
Working in the Broadway/New York store right under the Marquis, I give directions all the time, and my favorites are the people who ask where the Lion King is playing. Since it's right across the street, it's always my easiest directions.
