It’s a subscription house, so same rules don’t necessarily apply for averages. But interesting that Paulson is packing it in, but McAdams isn’t.

and no, this isn’t an invitation to reach and discuss Lempicka. 

Refreshing not to have that black facade! 

With an amazing cast (Jinx Monsoon and Charlotte D’Amboise), it’s still one of the best shows on Broadway. 
 

With a bad cast, it’s dreadful. But I’m willing to put up with its dark days for its shining moments. 

7-10 years for an original musical? Sure. 7-10 years for a film adaptation with some notable talent behind it? No. 

I think the comedy is quite broad actually. Don’t see why this wouldn’t succeed in a large off broadway/small Broadway house. 

Truly. It makes me wish the worst for this show when all I did was find it forgettable, not horrid. 

Always makes me laugh when surefire hit trilogies are bumbled. This could have been one of them. 
 

I could see this working as a musical, but suffers from the “didn’t the movie just come out” recency bias in my eyes. 

Correct. And it goes beyond universal praise. The whole culture of “I know more about this than critics because I’m a fan” or “because this story is important” is a stain on producing actual work of quality. 
 

and to be clear, I found this show to be harmless. Is it good? No. Did I enjoy my time spent? Sure. But owning faults for something you love is the best thing you can do for it. 

Day by day, a large chunk of those who work in the industry drift further and further away from reality. It’s doing everyone a disservice. 

My favorite type of BWW poster is the “thinking we have something” crowd so it’s always fun to let them think they do. 

Bold to assume that that’s a quantifiable population. 

Sealed the deal according to whomst. 

Risking it all for a bad musical, yall take the bate like candy. 

Outsiders. This Gatsby is one of my least favorite things I’ve ever seen.

You can easily beat Juniors. 

Idk, I was watching this last revival with the new cast thinking, I can see how this worked well off broadway.
