Just a little perspective - if they are obstructed side Balcony seats in row C, those have in the past retailed for $20 each ($40 total for both parts). Not sure about the center balcony price, but just a little information about what the face value could be.

It is definitely personal preference. Some people don't want to do a matinee especially if they are from out of town and sightseeing. It can be a bit of a long day to see both parts, but it is also great to see the piece as a whole. I think it really depends on what your plans are for when you are in town and if you are used to and/or would enjoy a two show day. There are pros and cons to both experiences. I saw it all in one day the first time, and I definitely would have been drive

Not on Broadway. It's pretty farfrom the stage. None of the Broadway theaters with balconies are as faraway.

**EDIT

The Palace may be farther, at least vertically. But not horizontally.

The Lyric has a really great balcony. And yes it is high but in relation to other balconies I've sat in, it is much closer to the stage. The effects are so magical from there as well. :)

Orch Row F is a great seat, and you'll definitely be able to see the effect that happens multiple times throughout the show in those seats- as long as we are talking about the same one!

I happened to have sat in Row Q and Row H. I would definitely recommend Row G even if you are short (I am also very short). There is a slight slope in the orch which helps a bit and the seats have nice "windows." Though the last time I saw the show, the usher told me that the cushions are just for kids and there were far less available for use, so that is something to keep in mind. Not sure if this is a new rule or just a particular usher.

As for Row Q. You'll have a perfect view of th

I would expect that if BroadwayCon attendees wanted to attend, they would aim before or after the convention simply because the time commitment would cut into con programming. Unless they are attending just one day or going for one specific event. That being said, I'm not really sure how many people attend the con in total, but I would assume that it isn't EVERYONE'S cup of tea anyway and that the number of tourist drastically decreasing otherwise would even things out.

I concur that y

Looks like those price bands continue through May 2019,

Row M - center- is super awesome. For the price it is a well placed seat with very little obstruction. Good job!

I would warn against left side Row K of the mezzanine. There is a break and railing a few feet away. The view is pretty decent, but the seats are a little lower, so the heads in the previous row - while a decent distance away can be a problem. A booster seems to remedy the situation though. Just a heads up!

Agreed! Good work team. Thanks to all who search and share - definitely a way to spread some joy. :) (Is this the Broadway equivalent to the Starbucks Pay It Forward? I think it might be!)

Regardless of the how's or whys - the ticket alert date states that they just released tickets for all dates in July. I don't see any of the lower priced tickets, but if you are looking for a $179/$189 seat for a specific July date, you might want to check it out. I also saw a $155 seat as well.

Are the the principal actors still performing this week? Or are any of the principal actors and actresses taking vacation now that the Tonys are over? (Was anyone at the show yesterday who can confirm if any understudies went on?)

I had a friend who was at the show yesterday, and she reported a full cast. :)

Exactly, this is a concentrated group of a specific type of ticket buyer which is fairly slim in the overall Broadway audience- especially as stated- with a ton of first time theatre goers for this specific production.
The majority of people buy a theatre ticket and never look back.

Also did a TON of premium tickets really go on sale for $20/$40? I saw a lot of balcony seats and very rear orchestra, which tend to skew this price anyway, but I'm thrilled if others got real steals of prime seats.

https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/features/the-price-is-really-right-dynamic-ticketing-could-transform-the-way-we-pay-to-see-live-events-8215701.html

The link above really explains the ticketing situation that we could be observing, and there several articles discussing it from the UK, so it seems to be more common there at this point. I would expect to see more of this in New York. It makes sense, the technology is there, and it seems to bring a profit in the end

I also agree that there does seem to be the addition of the large swath affordable seats - which can clearly be released anytime and perhaps change locations and release times based on house availability. As long as they stay in the ratio of 300 seats, they can really place these wherever they need.

And perhaps the staggering is still to deter scalpers. With no "on sale" time and unexpected releases of tickets that takes less financial investment, it still takes more work to try to find the deals if they are staggered.

All this to say that very few people will take the time to figure this out, but that it isn't about rewarding or punishing ticket buyer but simply trying to maximize profit. That might mean a deal at some times and an uptick at others. I would also expect that all this could change at the drop of the hat with the addition of a Tony or two or simply settling into the run and seeing what pricing seems to be the right mix to sell the most seats for the most money.

But again, it's a business, and they have 65(?) million to earn back before they make a profit!

Still loving this thread, and am thankful for everyone who is willing to share their observations and alert (hopefully) true audience members to a seat in their preferred budget or price point!!
