CATS Film Adaptation Thread  Jul 21 2018, 06:34:40 PM

Maybe they could get Tom Holland involved.   His Billy Elliot skills were exceptional.

Shows for conservative Grandma  Jul 13 2018, 09:02:29 PM

"Come From Away" is a wonderful show but it has language that Granny won't like.

Stick with Dolly or My Fair Lady. She has probably seen the movies and she'll love wither one.

GROUNDHOG DAY to Take the August Wilson, Spring 2017  Oct 19 2016, 12:11:29 PM

I saw it on a visit to London last month and thought it was just ok.  Expectations were high because some people had seen it and loved it so much.  I also thought Tim Minchin's score for Matilda was absolutely brilliant.  I was hoping GHD would have that same magic.  For me, it did not.   It's all in the eye of the beholder, while my response was "meh" some ladies in our row were sobbing at the end.  I don't think this is

It was great!  Worth watching. One Day More was pure joy!

Glenn Close in SUNSET BLVD.  Apr 2 2016, 06:26:32 PM

She is really great!    The audience wouldn't let her leave tonight, kept calling her back.    The show itself is good, but she is great.

Visiting London, going to see this in a couple of hours. I'm looking forward to it.

Fox's next live musical  Feb 1 2016, 07:52:31 PM

PNext December one of the networks should do "A Christmas Story".   It is a wonderful show, perfect for TV and very family friendly.

Demanding Star Vehicles  Aug 17 2015, 07:45:02 PM

Billy Elliot, Pippin, Jesus and Judas in Superstar.

Billy Elliot at Gateway  Aug 8 2015, 01:33:45 PM

The cast is great.  If you can get there, go.

Worst Hits You Ever Saw  Jun 3 2015, 12:37:46 AM

Spring Awakening. Not because it was too edgy for me, not because it was too "rock".  Its rock music didn't rock.

Kinky Boots. As others have noted, it's predictable.   The English accents were so awful that a middle school cast of Oliver! would cringe.  Then a character supposedly from Northampton used the phrase "stifle your yap."   That is not a phrase that would be used in Northampton. Still, congrats to Cindy Lauper and team. They created something t

Billy Elliot LIVE!  Nov 15 2014, 11:20:43 AM
Going this afternoon. It's such a great show. If you've never seen Billy Elliot The Musical this is a good low-priced way to take in the show. Highly recommended!
Should I be a part of GODSPELL?  Nov 15 2014, 11:17:49 AM
Sounds like you want to do this as an adult. If that's true then you should perform any time there is an opportunity to do so. Also, watch the 'tude. Intended or not, it showed in your post. Be the guy everyone likes to work with.

It's a great show. If you're in or near one of the tour cities and you're thinking about going, get tickets.
Musicals with mainly female parts but like 1 or 2 guys  Nov 14 2014, 11:19:18 AM
Sweet Charity is a good one. Great female roles one or two really strong guy roles. Lots of potential for big ensemble numbers.
The Last Ship Previews  Oct 24 2014, 11:02:33 AM
Saw this and really liked it. My expectations werent all that high because of what some people have posted here. Great cast, more laughs than I expected A few songs stuck with me. It's not in my top five musicals ever, but it's worth seeing. I really enjoyed it
Pippin Tour?  Oct 5 2014, 03:06:43 PM
Saw it in Denver, it's wonderful. I also saw it on Broadway which is probably a better experience overall, but the tour is pretty close! Certainly worth seeing when it comes to your area.

Best shows you have seen recently.  Apr 18 2014, 03:20:13 PM
"A Christmas Story" MSG back in December. Hope it returns to New York this year. It's a really great show, even better than I expected.
"Les Miserables" last month in London. Still the original staging, still incredible.
"Matilda" in London, very clever and entertaining score.
"Pippin" - Broadway. Didn't expect to like it but I went because everyone has said such great things. I loved it.
