American Idiot joining the January Cull?  Nov 11 2010, 10:13:23 PM
I do hope it lasts, don't know if it will, but I'd heard the January rumor was false too.
The Early Days of the BWW Board: Any Info??  Oct 24 2010, 02:42:38 AM
Holy crap, LittleFish, I actually just logged in because I saw you posted.

I was a big big boarder back in the days of LittleFish...and Gunn!! I miss you, Gunn! <3

I remember laughing so hard I was crying in the old late night chat fests with ~FF~.

Which seats should I choose for AMERICAN IDIOT?  Aug 21 2010, 09:46:00 AM
Pick the right, the left means you have the couch block you at points and the right doesn't.
John Gallagher Jr smashed his guitar onstage tonight...  Jul 4 2010, 12:58:39 AM
He went to run up, saw there was nothing to run up to, turned around and shrugged and hung out by the steps until the moment passed.
John Gallagher Jr smashed his guitar onstage tonight...  Jul 4 2010, 12:23:24 AM
I was at the matinee, yes he had to stop twice to retune the guitar (before When It's Time and before Wake Me Up When September Ends), at one point he actually said to the audience "PS its humid in the city and that's bad for my guitar" and then he dropped it when he was supposed to catch it at the end of Wake Me Up When September Ends. This is all, of course, after the window didn't open up during St. Jimmy so he couldn't run up the steps and kiss Rebecca, which was amusing in itself.
1916 The Musical  Jun 29 2010, 08:09:51 AM
Please tell me they overtake the GPO in this musical. The Easter Rising is just a fabulous story.
Idiot and Promises programs  Jun 15 2010, 02:17:02 PM
When I went to AI last week I'm 99.9% sure they did have them, but they may have been new because I'd never seen them there before.
SEATING QUESTION FOR AMERICAN IDIOT  Jun 14 2010, 05:19:25 PM
Of the 8 times I've seen it for 6 of them I sat in rows B or C and love them so I would argue that A is perfectly fine, but I don't like being far back.
Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 6/6  Jun 8 2010, 07:42:13 AM
Someone out there thinks AI is doing fine since only a day or so ago they opened up a new block of tickets through to January.
What I learned on my annual NYC trip regarding tickets...  May 29 2010, 02:38:54 AM
"I think you just lucked out. I would never do this for a show that was selling out. American Idiot doesn't have that problem."

Not true. Even shows that sell out do that, but I don't think BO versus online matters. I get all my tickets online, but it's just about timing. Many times I've just kept trying daily for a date I wanted for a 'sold out' show and ended up in great seats. It's timing not a matter of selling out or not.

Nick Jonas in Les Miserables  May 28 2010, 04:00:13 AM
I liked him as Gavroche back in the day...and he can't possibly be worse than Ricky Martin was. Ugh. It took me years to get over his butchering of Marius.
Congratulations to Drama Desk winner Michael Mayer for Best Director  May 24 2010, 01:40:28 AM
I think he deserved a Tony win too. What he accomplished with American Idiot is remarkable.
Congrats to him for the DD win!

My thoughts on ENRON  May 9 2010, 02:49:02 AM
I'm not sure it was too late so much as too early for this play (which I admittedly really liked). Or maybe a bit of both. Sometimes I think a show has to come out practically as the event is happening or when enough time and distance has passed for it to become interesting to people again. It's different in London because Enron wasn't a UK company so they'd take the story differently.

That said, I still think it deserved a far better run here, and I also agree that having a British ca

...with the exception of the bonus track, Green Day plays the music on the songs but doesn't sing them.
American Idiot  May 8 2010, 01:25:31 AM
Sorry Mildred but given this sentence "American Idiot was the same ear splitting decible for the whole 100 minutes." I'm really not entirely sure what show you saw, so it's best to just agree to disagree.

Also the OP, I second what sorano says.

American Idiot  May 8 2010, 01:09:50 AM
"Oh yeah, and it's really, really, really, almost offensively loud."

People keep mentioning how loud it is, but I've never noticed that it was any louder than any other rock musical- and it was nowhere near as disgustingly loud as Passing Strange where my seat actually vibrated from it.

American Idiot  May 8 2010, 12:27:57 AM
American Idiot is without a doubt something you have to see because I think it's a show that is impossible to predict if someone will like it or not. I, personally, love it. I thought everything about it was fantastic and as much as I agree Hair is probably the closest thing to its ancestor I find Hair to be a torturous show, and I'm also not a fan of Rent OR Spring Awakening so don't think having to love or dislike any of those other shows matters when compared to this one.

AMERICAN IDIOT Shutout  May 4 2010, 10:11:36 AM
I enjoyed Quartet too and I was pleased to see it nominated, I just enjoyed Idiot far more.
AMERICAN IDIOT Shutout  May 4 2010, 09:34:06 AM
In my opinion both Tony Vincent and Stark Sands gave brilliant performances and should have been nominated.
Rant about the Tony nominations here  May 4 2010, 09:23:43 AM
"I would rather have a good "unoriginal" (in terms of book and score) musical than a second rate "original" musical any day."

I second that!
