I already thought he came across as a bit of a jerk when he lashed out towards anyone disliking his production’s changes, but his morality so quickly bending to whatever will help him really brings him down in my book.

I can understand that Powell would obviously jump at the opportunity to be in that show and increase his profile, but that was kind of tasteless, especially since he’s in a production with someone who’s clearly guilty of being a sexual deviant.

I’d prefer more proven singers than Hedges or Chalamet (who I think is too scrawny looking to make it seem like he could go toe to toe with David Alvarez). Honestly, if they go through with reshoots, the acceptance towards Zegler just proves to me that they can get away with an unknown as Tony.

Knowing that Spielberg’s wanted to do this film since he was a kid convinced me that it’s gonna be great. He clearly has a great passion for the show, and he’s at his best when his passion really shines through.

She was great as Maya Ewell. I was a bit surprised to see her take the role as it really only has the one big scene, although she’s present for the all three courtroom moments. I personally think she could’ve been an excellent Scout, though the understudy who I saw was stellar.

You could say Pugh is too old to play Abigail, but she pulled off the even younger Amy, so I think she can still do it. And it’s funny, cause I was between Lupita and Williams for Elizabeth. I agree Lupita would be fantastic, although I highly disagree with the Williams dissing.
And for the record, Scanlen as Mary came to me because of her performance in To Kill a Mockingbird. She plays the abused accuser very well.

I was recently thinking of how Id like to see a remake of The Crucible at some point, as I found Arthur Millers adaptation of his play to be overly choppy and ruined the atmosphere and build up of the original play. And Im thinking, if someone were to make another film version of this story, who would you want to star in it? After mulling it over, my personal picks would be:
Adam Driver as John Proctor
Michelle Williams as Elizabeth Proctor
Andrew Scott as John Hale

I never said she was obligated to do another show, I’m just pointing out how her honorary award is quite weird given her limited involvement with Broadway.

Kind of ironic they rewarded Streisand and named her their star of the decade and then she never came back to do another Broadway show for the rest of her career.
Again, I’m not a Streisand hater, I just find her whole honorary Tony situation pretty weird given she was so young, had done relatively little, and only had two particularly big successes, which are both based on the same material.

Given the mention of Streisand’s honorary EGOT, I was as thinking about this the other day, but am I the only one who finds her honorary Tony quite strange? If I remember correctly, she had only done two Broadway shows, and two musical films at the time. When George Rose played Alfred P. Doolittle, he won the Tony. Not unexpected given the role is a great crowd pleaser and Rose was widely regarded as an excellent actor and showman. Whats very interesting about this though is that he won the Tony for Lead Actor rather than Featured Actor.
Theres some roles that border on supporting and lead, but Alfred Doolittle is very clearly a supporting part, one that doesnt even come close to being a lead. This makes Rose winning a lead Tony for the part
