74th Annual Tony Awards will go digital this fall  Oct 12 2020, 01:52:39 PM

Just a curious question for those who support degendering the categories. Would that mean only two performances are given Tonys per season? Like on lead and one featured? And how many nominations in a typical season would go to each of those categories?

Whats next at the St James?  May 14 2020, 07:56:24 PM
Great Comet revival starring Mandy Patinkin of course.

Has any one stagedoored? Who came out?

Hadestown cast replacements  Mar 5 2020, 05:57:35 PM

When Reeve does leave I would love to see Lucas Steele as Orpheus.

Jagged Little Pill preview thread  Feb 20 2020, 10:25:55 AM

Has anyone got the side partial view orchestra seats that are being used for rush? Did you miss much action? Looking for cheap seats...

Renee Rapp in Mean Girls  Oct 5 2019, 01:41:06 PM

I saw her when Taylor was in Kinky Boots as well and absolutely loved her performance. She song the hell out of her songs, and was a good actress as well. I really hope other shows about high schoolers see her success and start casting actual teens.

Tootsie - Storyline Question  Jun 10 2019, 02:49:43 PM
This is a really interesting idea! I think the plot overall would have been more realistic this way because they would see ~Michael’s~ demands to change the script as confidence and intelligence or something. I think every woman in the audience upon seeing Michael get more respect as Dorothy was like..... seems fake but okay.
Six reviews  Jun 10 2019, 01:20:27 PM
I saw it this weekend and LOVED IT. I don’t think Longacre is a good theatre choice at all though...
Rate the 2019 Tony Performances  Jun 10 2019, 01:16:55 PM
Ranked:
Ain’t Too Proud- AMAZING. Definetly sold a lot of tickets for the show
Choir Boy- I really liked it and it was original
Oklahoma- not sure why people are hating on this. Ali Stroker tore down the house and I liked the dark energy it had
The Prom- simply delightful. I love the transition between the two songs
Hadestown- they chose the wrong song. Featuring the one non-nominated actor doesn’t make sense to me and the camera can’t capture what Wait For Me really is

MITB Tony's Reactions  Jun 10 2019, 01:09:07 PM

TheQuibbler said: "Because who could forget the golden rule of comedy: explain the joke and tell the audience exactly what it is you’re parodying and how you’re doing it. "

This ^^^. People are so pissed about this imagine if people got this made that in 2017 they joked about how Andy Karl tore his ACL in Groundhog Day. Yes, not everyone understood the joke but if you explained it it would ruin the whole thing.

2019 Tony Snubs  Jun 10 2019, 12:49:40 PM

VotePeron said: "Biggest snub was them capitalizing on Be More Chill, without shouting out the show, or as someone on twitter suggested, incorporated George or Joe. Don't pander to the fanbase if you're just gonna give them the shaft."

But they could have payed to have a spot. Why would they let George perform for free when all the other shows have to pay? Plus they parody shows all the time. The parody was itself a shout-out imo.

Stagedooring Six and Falsettos Tour (Chicago)?  Jun 2 2019, 08:57:00 AM
Has anyone stagedoored at Six Chicago or Falsettos Tour in Chicago? If so where are the stagedoors and who all came out?
What is Andy Karl doing next?  May 27 2019, 06:22:37 PM
A Groundhog Day revival? Lol. If he does tv I hope it’s a comedy

The Picture of Dorian Gray musical
Musicals most people hated, but you liked  May 20 2019, 12:47:48 PM
I loved Groundhog Day
Tony Night Suprises  May 19 2019, 11:26:21 PM
Kiss Me Kate taking best revival is the most likely I believe. The Prom taking best book. Damon or Brooks taking Lead Actor in a musical. Hadestown winning costumes. Constitution winning best play. The biggest surprise would be if Be More Chill Stan’s don’t try to fight Hadestown for winning best score
Tootsie- worst musical of the year  May 19 2019, 11:17:44 PM
Tootsie is like my experience with Dear Evan Hansen in that I liked it at first but the more I listened and thought about it the more I began to dislike it. It’s not the worst because Pretty Woman exists, but I really do not understand the love for it. Sarah Stiles deserves her own show though, and a tony for a better written role
Jokes In Musicals That...Just Don't Work?  May 19 2019, 11:12:30 PM
Might be controversial but in Tootsie: “I’m a man in love! Pass me my bra!” Fell sooooo flat it sounds like a joke that would be made on Disney channel or by a third grade boy. For a show that had some great one-liners there were a couple that just made me roll my eyes.
Secret Life of Bees - Previews  May 19 2019, 11:09:19 PM
I read this book in high school and I’m struggling to remember the plot but I know I enjoyed it. Thanks to everyone who gave in depth reviews!
