Interesting choice to go with Uzele over Soo for Best Leading Performance.

New WICKED Cast Replacements this month and next?  Jan 2 2023, 10:13:26 PM

It looks like we will! Mary Kate posted a video to both her Instagram and Tiktok accounts of her telling her sister “casting news”, and deleted both posts once people started commenting witch emojis. Unsure if she’s standby or lead (leaning towards lead as Talia leaves in a few months), but it will be great to have her back as Elphaba nonetheless!

Entrances That Give You Chills  Feb 5 2020, 11:35:59 PM
Satine’s entrance in Moulin Rouge is pretty great, IMO. Surprised it hasn’t been mentioned yet.

I agree! I saw the tour twice because of them. They were fantastic!

MOULIN ROUGE Cast Recording Out Today! - Thoughts  Sep 2 2019, 02:31:45 PM

There’s a few moments that are left out. Aaron sings a line or two from The Sound Of Music, Every Breath You Take, and Never Gonna Give You Up. There’s a small reprise of Diamonds Are Forever before Elephant Love Medley. “We should be lovers! We can’t do that,” is in Elephant Love Medley. That’s about it, IIRC.

Best Scene Changes  Aug 28 2019, 11:48:32 PM
I’m on mobile and don’t know how to add the spoiler button so I’m just going to say that there’s a POTENTIAL MOULIN ROUGE SPOILER in here. Hopefully the all caps got people’s attention!

The last part of Elephant Love Medley (when Christian, Satine, Zidler, and the Duke are standing on the passerelle while Zidler and the Duke are negotiating terms) took my breath away. When Christian and Satine start singing “Heroes”, the elephant set turns around to reveal a starry night sky, and the Ei

Different shows with similar plots  Aug 18 2019, 11:48:32 PM
Hadestown and Moulin Rouge are a bit similar. (I’m aware that the latter is loosely based on the former.)

Penniless songwriter falls in love with a woman who wants a life of stability. They sing a song to promise each other that they will stay together no matter what hardships they face. (All I’ve Ever Known/Come What May). She dies or is forced to stay in Hadestown forever.

A friend of mine messaged her on Instagram and she said she’s going on for Bahiyah Hibah’s (ensemble) track, not Satine.

Hardest Roles Currently on Broadway  Jul 14 2019, 10:42:52 PM
I saw Moulin Rouge! yesterday and I think Christian is a pretty difficult role to play. Aaron Tveit was onstage for almost the entire show, and in addition to acting, singing, and dancing, he also served as the narrator. The character goes through a huge range of emotions and I think Tveit mastered Christian’s slow descent into madness and grief in Act 2.
Moulin Rouge seating  Jul 1 2019, 02:58:15 PM
I’m sitting in the right mezz, row H, seat 10 next weekend. I hope the view won’t be terrible but from pictures I’ve seen so far, the elephant’s trunk blocks a little bit of the stage if you’re sitting on the extreme sides of the right mezzanine. The view looks better from the left mezz, since I don’t think the windmill obstructs anyone’s view.
Comedic Showstoppers  Jun 23 2019, 09:27:27 PM
I saw a community theater production of Singin’ In The Rain last year, and “Make ‘Em Laugh” was pretty hilarious. Also, as another poster already mentioned, Stephanie J Block’s version of “I’m Breaking Down” was great.
Is it possible to see two shows in one day — and stagedoor?  Jun 13 2019, 09:21:57 AM

Hi everyone! I’ll be visiting NYC on July 13th, and I already have a ticket to see Moulin Rouge! at 2pm that day. However, I really want to see Wicked again, too. Wicked has a 8pm show on July 13th. Assuming I do see the 8pm show, will I have enough time to stagedoor Moulin Rouge! and eat/make myself presentable before Wicked? This would be the first time I’ve tried to do this, and I just wanted to get some feedback from other posters on here who have seen two shows in one day. Th

Hugging Actors At Stage Door  Jun 4 2019, 09:04:03 AM
The only time I’ve hugged an actor (or in this situation, was the one being hugged by the actor) was at the stagedoor for the Wicked 2NT last summer. No barricades were set up, and it was late at night, so I was the only audience member waiting there. Mary Kate Morrissey was the one to initiate the hug after I rambled about her great performance and how much I can relate to Elphaba. I can’t remember if she asked if I wanted a hug or not, but I was definitely okay with it. It wasn’t awkward at al

I loved Amélie. I thought it was a super cute little show. I still put the cast recording on sometimes if I’m feeling down.
MEAN GIRLS TOUR CAST  May 10 2019, 03:14:52 PM
This is so exciting! I loved her as Elphaba, so I’m definitely thinking about making the two hour drive to Des Moines when the tour is there in October. Mary Kate is a STAR, and she’s going to be amazing in this role!
Explain your favorite broadway show horribly.  Apr 2 2019, 10:53:08 AM

Sad American writer tells the tragic story of when he fell in love with a prostitute/performer in a nightclub/dance hall. There’s dancing, drinking, play writing, an elephant, and the color red. Lots and lots of red.

AEA Strike?  Jan 7 2019, 07:31:29 PM
This is probably a stupid question but how would this affect the Beetlejuice and Moulin Rouge labs? Would the labs be canceled or rescheduled to a later date? Im a little confused, sorry.
