West Side Story revival?  Jul 10 2019, 02:51:36 PM

Fetus said: "Amar Ramasar is a stain on an otherwise exciting cast of new talent. A poor actor with a disgusting past."
Couldn't have said it better myself.

I can think of at least twelve actors off the top of my head who would play this role better than Amar, so I can't even imagine the number of actors someone with the reach of Scott Rudin could find. It's absolutely baffling to me why they had him fill this role. There was nobody better?

Oh god no. He is probably the worst actor Broadway has seen in years. Please for the love of God and all things good, anyone but him!

COMPLETE CAST FOR BOWL INTO THE WOODS!!  Jul 8 2019, 11:24:56 AM

Rehearsals began this week and still no news of who will play certain roles, including the Narrator, Florinda, Lucinda, Stepmother, Cinderella's Father, and more. Anyone happen to know the additional actors in these roles?

COMPANY eyeing a spring 2020 transfer at a Shubert theater  Jul 4 2019, 02:08:31 AM

I know it's highly likely Lupone will be in a Broadway transfer, but if, for whatever reason, it's not her, for the love of God, please let it be Donna Murphy.

IBDB - Internet Broadway Database has a new look  Jul 3 2019, 04:11:21 PM
I still prefer Playbill Vault when it comes to looking at replacements for a specific role. However, I love the new design for IBDB and think it was much needed.
Hadestown: The Movie (an idea)  Jul 3 2019, 04:05:48 PM
Yeah, no. The only movie I’d want is a filmed version of the stage production with the original Broadway cast, as the filmed clips they’ve released on their social media have looked SO good.

Other than that, I think the magic of the show would be lost on film.

My sources also say Isaac Powell for Tony.
Way Too Early 2019 Tony Predictions thread  Apr 27 2019, 09:29:29 PM

Could Choir Boy sneak in for a Best Score nomination? Are they even eligible? I hope they get rewarded for the music in that show some how.

Patti LuPone was almost Hedwig!?  Apr 26 2019, 10:13:47 PM
I would give up my life savings to see Patti Lupone singing “Sugar Daddy”
RIP Mark Medoff  Apr 24 2019, 07:32:29 AM

Playwright and educator Mark Medoff has died at 79.

Absolutely devastating. As a hard of hearing person I am forever indebted to him for all the joy and inspiration his masterwork, Children of a Lesser God, has brought me.

Choir Boy Cast Album  Apr 20 2019, 06:30:06 PM
I wish but I doubt it’s happening.
Ryan Murphy To Develop Film Adaptation Of THE PROM For Netflix  Apr 10 2019, 07:25:11 AM
I doubt they are going to make a movie adaptation per se. I believe this will be a filmed stage production of the Broadway show, but will be more cinematic than something like the She Loves Me recording (think Miss Saigon 25th Anniversary/Newsies).

Looking forward to this! I believe this will make a great transition to screen.

HADESTOWN Previews  Apr 1 2019, 11:22:53 AM
I see everyone coming out of the show with these red flowers (similar to the one on the Playbill). Do they give them out or are they a merch item?
INK Previews  Mar 31 2019, 03:00:32 PM

Ink is written by James Graham and directed by Rupert Goold. Previews begin April 2 with opening night set for April 24.

SYNOPSIS: It’s 1969 London. The brash young Rupert Murdoch purchases a struggling paper, The Sun, and sets out to make it a must-read smash which will destroy - and ultimately horrify - the competition. He brings on rogue editor Larry Lamb who in turn recruits an unlikely team of underdog reporters.

HAMILTON Principal Cast Replacements  Mar 31 2019, 03:00:25 PM

BwayinVan said: "Judging by her Instagram it looks as if Elizabeth Judd is leaving the cast this weekend. I wonder who will be the new standby and also curious to see what she goes on to do."

What a shame, she's consistently been the highlight of the show for me every time I've seen her! I have a feeling she's doing The Outsiders musical because she was in a reading of it if I'm remembering correctly.

Maybe Dorcas Leung will replace?

Next Eliza in My Fair Lady?  Mar 26 2019, 08:40:02 PM
Ashley Park is doing Hercules and will not be available to do My Fair Lady once Laura leaves, although I agree that she would be wonderful.

My money’s on Solea Pfeiffer after the success of the Camelot concert.
