I want to say something however about how many of you have tried to make this about this being another example of a man in power abusing people - whatever definition of abuse you want to go with.

Of course he doesn’t deal with the talent the same way! But when are all of you going to stop giving THEM a pass. I didn’t want to hear it from Meryl when she said she had no idea about the rumors about Harvey either. The entertainment industry despite being a global business is a very small community. They all know about it. Most of us have never worked a day in the biz - but we all heard the whispers - and so do they.

I’ve never attended one of his shows Kad-not one. I don’t watch his movies either bc I know someone who worked with him, not even for him, just with him. And just based on what was shared with me many years ago - I was a hard pass. He also did something personally damaging to this friend that had nothing to do with abuse. I stopped watching Woody Allen movies back in the mid-90’s way before it was the “in” thing to do. I’m one person and that’s my right.

You go to his shows, watch his movies, and support his enablers- all the performers we all love who have read the same articles and heard all the same rumors.
You want to take him down - cancel his enablers and stop patronizing his products.

There are several posters here who seem to have VERY reliable sources. When they decide to post something they’ve heard I usually take notice. One thing to keep in mind - as with any online platform, sometimes people who have just joined suddenly have a major rumor they just have to share with all of us that proves to be 100% BS. They could be just looking to stir the pot or could be low level folks who are kind of in the biz looking to speak something into existence.

I was so sad to see the news of his Alzheimer’s diagnosis yesterday, but in true Bennett fashion his “Life is a gift, even with Alzheimer’s” reminded me again of why he is so beloved. His Mr. Broadway album has long been one of my favorites and his version of The Party’s Over I find to be among the best!
