CABARET at the Kit Kat Club (2024) Opening Night Critics' Reviews  Apr 23 2024, 10:42:44 AM

CreatureKitchen said: "I don't think anyone is questioning whether a black man from Harrisburg going to Berlin to find himself makes sense. That makes perfect sense, and there was a diverse array of foreigners coming to Berlin at that time. The big leap is Cliff's relationship with Ernst. Why would Ernst, a Nazi, not only immediately befriend a black man with no reservations, but also trust him with important errands and information? Why would he allow himself to be taught En

"I have to admit I keep laughing at all of the comments about "those arms". My goodness, have you all never seen a pumped up guy before in your life. Obviously Corey Cott hits the gym, good for him. I get some of you were having fun with those comments but still it is really tacky IMO. Part of me also wonders the comments some of you would make if some guys made similar comments about a body part of a good looking woman. I have a feeling you would be c

CABARET at the Kit Kat Club (2024) Opening Night Critics' Reviews  Apr 22 2024, 01:09:21 PM

The critics saw right through the smoke and mirrors of this production. It's trying to be "cool and edgy". It is neither. I'm glad Neuwirth and Skybell escaped the mess unscathed.

Auf Wiedersehen, Cabaret.

This show needs a serious rest.

The art direction and conception of anOz/NYC hybrid is genuinely brilliant and realized extremely well- it’s incredibly specific, rooted in Dorothy’s character and the experience of urban Black Americans at the time, and has a point of view.

I haven't purchased tickets to the new revival either. Not only because I abhor the recording but I am over this need for every other revival to subvert the material and try to top one other in the sleazy/shock department. It's just oh so very boring.

Oh, and my favorite Sally Bowles - Jill Haworth.

Sam Mendes will direct 4 films about The Beatles (one from each member's POV) to be theatrically released by Sony in 2027  Feb 22 2024, 06:03:16 PM

I'm trying to figure out why a topic on film is on the main Broadway message board and not on the off-topic message board, and as much as I love the Fab 4...four separate films is so excessive IMO.

This should have happened without a social media campaign. SMDH.

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA musical headed to the UK and West End in 2024  Feb 19 2024, 09:48:09 AM

I have been a fan since The Right Stuff and Sweetest Days albums. She’s a star. I am very happy with this casting."

You must be my spiritual twin. I've loved Vanessa forever and a day and those two albums along with her stellar Th

CONFIRMED: CABARET at the August Wilson Theatre, Spring 2024  Feb 17 2024, 06:54:47 PM

"Exploring the Myth of Cabaret" - after watching this video, what I want to see now is a reproduction of the original 1966 Harold Prince staging...now THAT would be revolutionary.

Who will be the next Broadway Madame Rose?  Feb 17 2024, 06:24:00 PM

Are the same people who are "reporting" that Audra McDonald is playing "Mama Rose" in GYPSY, the same people who reported that Rachel Zegler was going to star in the next big Broadway revival of EVITA?

This sounds like a huge camp-fest: a little "Valley of the Dolls", mixed with a bit of "All About Eve" and a dash of "Death Becomes Her".

If this rumor was from one or two years ago and nothing has come of it since then I think it
