CABARET at the Kit Kat Club Previews Apr 3
2024, 03:05:19 PM
Good question. I had bought my first preview tickets on SeatGeek, but went to the box office to have them printed out prior to the performance. And I purchased my second set of tickets at the box office and had them printed out. The majority of people entering the theater will probably be using their phones as their tickets, which will make them harder to hide in their pockets or bags. I always prefer a printed ticket to a digital ticket because I tape them to the inside of the playbill after

CABARET at the Kit Kat Club Previews Apr 3
2024, 01:57:04 PM
The sticker did leave a sticky residue on my phone case, which is slightly raised above the lenses themselves. When I got home, I had to take my phone out of the case and wash the case with soap twice to ensure the sticky residue washed off. When I see the show again on May 2, I will just leave my phone in my pocket the entire time to avoid having to use the sticker.
The show itself was fantastic, by the way, as was the entire experience, and I'm looking forward to seeing it a seco

APPROPRIATE Transferring to the Belasco Feb 13

It doesn't appear that they are selling the balcony, which is unfortunate, because those seats would have been more affordable. The cheapest mezzanine seats excluding fees are $94 each.

Times They Are A Changin opened 17 years ago today Oct 27
2023, 10:14:35 AM
Saw it twice in previews - once with Caryn Lyn Manuel (who I believe only played 9 previews) and once with the far superior Lisa Brescia. Then I went a third time to the closing performance a few weeks later. It was definitely a mess!

Prima Facie recoups investment Jun 20
2023, 03:00:23 PM
Reading this news today made me so happy. This is such an excellent play with incredibly important subject matter and Jodie Comer is giving the best performance I've seen in at least the last decade. She deserves to be an Olivier and Tony winner for this role and I'm thrilled that the show will go down in the history books as a hit that recouped its investment. I have already seen the show three times and have tickets for one more time its final week. Congratulations to Jodie and the

Anyone seeing a first performance post-Tony win tonight? Jun 13
2023, 03:30:12 PM
"They're gonna have to hold the show a good minute tonight when the lights go up on Kimberly Levaco and her candy necklace!"
I will be there at Kimberly Akimbo tonight and definitely looking forward to contributing to the love fest from the audience. It will be my second post-Tony performance for a Best Musical winner - the last was In the Heights in 2008.

Drama League 2023 Distinguished Performance Award Apr 24
2023, 06:07:50 PM
As soon as my friend and I left Prima Facie on April 12, he turned to me and said "Jodie Comer just won the Tony." My response to him was: "Jodie Comer just won the Drama League award!"

Will we ever see a Broadway revival of August: Osage County? Mar 27
2023, 04:10:44 PM
I saw it three times on Broadway - Deanna Dunagan, Estelle Parsons and Phylicia Rashad. All were fabulous and the play itself is outstanding. I would love to see a revival of this show, but it must be a full scale production - we've all had enough of this bare stage with chairs and turntables trend.

PARADE On Broadway - News & Discussion Thread Feb 23
2023, 04:04:45 PM
"I have been a fan of this musical since the original production and can’t wait to see this revival! Just the other day I found out that there was a miniseries from 1988 called The Murder of Mary Phagan starring Jack Lemmon and Peter Gallagher. I had no idea about this! Has anyone seen it before? The whole thing is on YouTube and may check it out before revisiting the musical." Wow...I've never heard of this either! And I just looked it up and it won three Emmy Awards. Definitely want t

SUNSET BOULEVARD at the Kennedy Center Feb 6

"Follies was in the opera house which is much bigger."
I saw both Follies and Ragtime at the Kennedy Center, pre-Broadway and unless my memory is failing me, I would swear they both played at the Eisenhower.

Me too...and I've been checking every date for the first couple of weeks. Nothing at $25 offered. I guess we were too late. Frustrating.

New Cast Album Signing In The Theater? Jan 6
2023, 12:15:54 PM
I attended the "A Little Night Music" cast album signing in the theater...if my memory serves me, I waited outside for hours to ensure I got in. And yes, Sondheim was there.
A few years prior to that, there was also an in-theater cast album signing for the Cerveris/LuPone "Sweeney Todd," which I also attended. Sondheim was also in attendance.
I absolutely loved these events (as well as the ones in Barnes & Noble) and I hope they can return (masks

Awe, thanks, smidge!
I don't post too often anymore, but I am still reading this message board every day and am proud to be a long time member! And I still see everything on Broadway. I have a perfect record going back almost 18 years and have no plans on stopping now! I was just so blown away by this Merrily production that I had to chime in. It is certainly the hottest ticket in New York right now, and deservedly so! I hope everyone who wants to gets the chance to see it in t

"Still playing the refreshing game…it’s fun at least!"
Keep playing...you'll eventually get in. Grateful that I was able to get a single on Tuesday for myself and a single on Thursday for my friend. Was very worried that I wasn't going to get into this, but persistence pays off!
I listened to the OBCR last night and have not been able to stop thinking about this show for the past three days. It was truly outstanding and well exceeded my hig

I grabbed that one for my friend. Have been refreshing all the NYTW site all day. I saw it last night and was blown away. My friend is now extremely excited for tomorrow. Wish I could afford to see it a second and third time. It was such a spectacular evening.

FUNNY GIRL 2022 New Broadway Cast Recording Thread Nov 18
2022, 03:08:33 PM
"Anyone saying she’s imitating Streisand is a total clueless idiot."
I completely agree. Before I saw her in the show, I figured that she may try to channel Barbra in her performance and mimic the OBCR, however she definitely created a character all her own, and it was quite impressive. I knew her vocals would be powerful, but was more blown away with the details and the care she took to create a different Fanny from all of her predecessors.
