That's pretty hot. I'm too lazy to order.

It's weird, but the reason because of Theresa Heinz Kerry (wife of John Kerry)- hence, Heinz, the ketchup maniacs. If she gets a portion of the money (I'm not sure about this), Democrats are getting supported. Financially, anyway.

Just look at her suit, man, does she love that red.

Wait, this has nothing to do with the Heinz company??? I'm confused...

republicans are angry that heinz ketchup is "supporting democrats" because of kerry's wife, so they decided to make their own republican ketchup.

Why is Heinz supporting democrats??? and why do republicans need their own ketchup???

Oy, I explained it.

Although I just simply buy another brand of ketchup. It's very simple.

Yes, I've heard of this.
Apparently, the makers of this product cannot keep up with demand.

It's not like Heinz company profits automatically go to some shared Heinz-Kerry account that Kerry can draw upon for his campaign. What BS- let's fight over condiments instead of actual issues.

Tell that to the people trying to sell me some Kerry gear on the street today. I just gave them the look.

I never got the whole merchandise thing.

I love how these people are so pathetic. Like you haven't been giving Heinz money for years and years?!
wtf.

IT'S KETCHUP! FOR FRENCH FRIES! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

the whole website, like the republicans, makes you feel UNPATRIOTIC if you don't support them. WTF.
"we support Reagan"
"we only come in ONE flavor: American" - yea cause we're BETTER than everyone else.

I'm so sick of this country. I'm moving once I'm out of college. I hate hate hate it here.

Don't underestimate what you have here. The country I was born in was democratic, Westernized, and all that. But there's no place quite like the U.S. There's idiots in every country- don't let the ones here get you down.

But if you really can't stand it here, moving is probably for the best. I hope you're happy wherever you go. Just out of curiosity, are you going to renounce your U.S. citizenship? (If you have it?)

I like Hunts better anyway.

At least they're donating money made to a scholarship fund. It'd be interesting to see if it actually does TASTE better than Heinz.

Excuse me? Did you just group all Republicans together? We arent all the same! We dont all believe the same things. To me, this is the equivalent of someone saying "all Asians/gay people/black people/etc. think exactly the same way."

This is the first I have seen of this, but it probably started out as a funny little thing that grew. There are extremists on both ends of the spectrum.

Sorry... I hate to totally overreact but I am constantly fight with both sides about this. It seems people willing to try to understand others' perspective are a minority in both parties. Really sorry, guys. I am in politics and already jaded at the age of 20. This is going to be a tiring campaign season.

"Excuse me? Did you just group all Republicans together?"

People do it. Unfortunately. I've tried to just walk on, although I have to admit that I've snapped back once or twice...

What brand of ketchup should independents use, then?

re: you don't support democrats. why should your ketchup?

Like Democrats aren't grouped together as pinko baby-killing, terrorist-loving, tree-huggers all the time. Everybody gets stereotyped. Get used to it. And it's a sad fact that a site that has more Democrats than Republicans will have more stereotyping of the latter than the former. It's not a reflection on either party- it's just math.

Democrats are grouped together too. But, I dont do that.
I have been lucky enough to have eye-opening moments and I just feel that if everyone starts being a little more open about this, (warning: cheesy) then this country will be a better place. I have spent my time on Capital Hill. The close-mindedness and horrible name calling isnt there, its in the general public.
I am afraid that nothing is going to be improved in the future if we keep heading along on such a bias track. We will only have deadlock and name-calling.

The comments dont offend me. Believe me, I hear it all at school.
I just hope that maybe I can cause at least one person to think of everyone as individuals and perhaps diminish their stereotypical politcal opinions of others.

And you thought that people go into politics just for the power It's this horrible "change the world" syndrome I have.

re: you don't support democrats. why should your ketchup?

I would imagine that not so much name-calling goes on in Washington because
a) Politicians aren't petulant teenagers
b) If they talk trash, the press will report it (as we all know too well)
c) They have to work together all the time.

And c is probably the most important reason. It's easy enough to say, "Republicans suck!" when you only know a few Republicans on a message board. It's harder when you have to serve on a committee with that Republican, or even sponsor a bill with them.
