With the 2018-19 touring season announcements winding down, it's time to look ahead to the 2019-2020 season. Already announced new shows that are going to be touring include: My Fair Lady, Frozen, Mean Girls, and Escape to Margaritaville. These will accompany current productions such as Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, Miss Saigon, and many more during the season.

To help keep track of which shows are playing at which theatre at any given time, I've composed a spreadsheet that will keep track of all of this information. It can be accessed by clicking here:

2019-2020 US Tours spreadsheet

2019-2020 US Tours individual show spreadsheet

Please note that it is a work in progress, and that additional information will be added to it as it becomes available. Anyone can help by posting information on this thread, and it will then be added to the spreadsheets by myself. I'm hoping this will be a great resource, and look forward to keeping fans, including myself, informed and excited about the touring shows.

*Update (31 May): I've added in a few sheets to the original spreadsheet to provide different amounts of data.

*Update (25 Dec): you can now add comments on the sheets. To comment, go to the sheet where you want to add a comment, click on the cell where you want to put your comment, and click on the icon on the top left to activate the opportunity to comment. I only request that confirmed information be added. Thanks!

While Frozen’s tour will open officially in Los Angeles (Pantages), it will start in Schenectady (Proctor’s).

Lot666 the Miss Saigon tour stops were announced back in December 2017 on the Providence Performing Arts Center website (at least the cities). The page appears to be removed, but using the Wayback Machine, here is the link to the source as it appeared earlier this year:

"MISS SAIGON WILL LAUNCH NORTH AMERICAN TOUR AT PPAC IN FALL 2018"

By process of elimination, I was able to distinguish which cities would be adding this show to their 2019-2020 seasons. However, it's very possible that things could change between now and then. Hope that helps!

Just a quick update regarding a few touring announcements made recently:

- The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is going back-to-back with "Hamilton," hosting it again for their 19-20 season.

- The SHN recently announced two shows for their next season: "The Band's Visit" and "Mean Girls." The former will play in the spring of 2020 and the latter in the summer of that year.

-The DeVos in Grand Rapids will host "The Lion King" for the first time.

-And "Frozen" will be playing at Cleveland's Playhouse Square in the 2020 summer, joining the Proctors and the Pantages Theatres.

I believe this will answer your question:

http://www.playbill.com/article/spongebob-squarepants-will-end-broadway-run-in-september

It's entirely possible that the producers may change their minds, but I'm considering it a go until further notice. It looks like the Road Company booking agency has it listed among their offerings (http://www.theroadcompany.com/shows/spongebob.php), which means venues have the opportunity to book the show.

Now, specific dates, including a launching venue, have yet to be announced. Stay tuned for another announcement, which could be sometime around their closing day on the 16th.

Hope that helps!

Countless shows have announced plans for a tour (and even appeared on booking sites) after posting a closing notice. I don't think it's a strong indicator that the show will go on the road.

On the Tony Kornheiser Show, bookwriter Greg Garcia announced that "this time next year" an Escape to Margaritaville tour would be launching, starting in Providence and the second stop would be DC. He mentioned the stop being 1-3 weeks so that seems to indicate it will be an Equity tour.

Was in my Broadway in Boston account the other day making my payments, and noticed that after Hello Dolly in August (our last 18/19 show) and right afterwards Cats appeared. I looked at their tour and it ends in Hershey PA on August 25, which is when it said it opened in Boston. I checked again recently and it was taking down. So, 2nd year of the Cats tour and a confirmed Boston stop?

CATS is definitely a multi-year tour.

Honolulu has announced for those keeping track. This is their first (ever?) broadway series... they've gotten the occasional one-at-a-time bookings in the past of bigger shows (Wicked, Lion King, etc) every few years but never a subscription season with more than one show lined up. So this is exciting for the touring world.

Ive done a few shows that have gone there. One was flown but most are put on ships. That’s why most tours have breaks in their schedule of a few weeks on either end of playing there usually.

It depends on how much/little time they have. They can fly everything over and treat it like any other tour stop (save for adding a day on each end for crossloading on the tarmac); or what has also happened in the past is to lay off the tour for a week or two while things ship over, and the tour closes in Hawaii.

BoM Latter Day closed in HI, and Cats closed a leg of its non-Eq tour there several years back, if I recall correctly (though that was done primarily with a jump package).

2019-2020 Touring Season
Posted by tourboi 2018-11-01 21:16:26

Correct. With CATS it didn't technically 'close' though. One leg ended, but Troika had it back out with a new set within a few months. The plan was always to leave that set there and resume touring with a new set on the mainland (wasn't this the transition to the inflatable set?). I believe a friend on that tour told me it was done so that they could return to Hawaii eventually and already have a set there.

I never said tours DON'T end there, but most that have gone haven't. The Canadian Phantom tour ended there, about 25 years ago.

Some shows (mostly non-eq) have also used Hawaii as a halfway point when going to/from Asia on rare occasions.

No official announcement here, but, if the past two years are any indication, we're about two months away from our first season announcements for the 19/20 season! Seattle's been one of the first locations to announce, having done so on Jan 9 (17/18) and recently on Jan 4 (18/19). Prior to that, however, they've had mid-February and mid-March announcements, so who knows?

Mean Girls
Come From Away
Jesus Christ Superstar
Frozen
And either My Fair Lady or OOTI

The WizHairsprayOklahomaThe Secret GardenCarouselYoung FrankensteinDreamgirlsCrazy For You, and 1776

Under the category of new musicals, they had SummerPrince of Broadway, and Rocktopia among the other shows that are or will be touring.

I personally am not aware of any of these shows' plans, although several show up on booking company websites. So maybe we'll see some sort of announcements made at the beginning of the new year.

Announced yesterday, Aladdin will be at the Durham PAC in the Fall of 2019. No dates were given (maybe right after it plays Charlotte, the last stop in the 18-19 season?), but it does seem to confirm that it will be playing some of the 19-20 season in the South. The same thing happened with School of rock and now I'm stuck with extra school of rock tickets as part of the national season package because I guess they decided to do a second year to include dc.  Weird the dc/national must be non-equity since its not on the website? When the tour for Come From Away was initially announced, the producers stated that it would play in 60+ US cities. So, seeing that, after this current season, it would have played only in 23 (24 including preview) venues, it stands to reason that the odds of it coming to D.C., a major theatre market, are pretty good for next season. If I had to guess the venue, I'd go with the Kennedy Center. Hope that helps!

I have no inside information except the CTG website still lists both shows as part of the 20-19-2020 season.

That said, I wouldn't be too sad.  Once/Island looked like a fun layout at the Circle in the Square, and maybe could transfer at the Taper.  However, I think a lot of everything I read was the great thrust stage staging,so I think it will loose a lot transferring to a proscenium stage.

We’re about 100 days out from them officially announcing the 2019/2020 season, and I’ll be in attendance at the Benedum when they do so. For that season lineup I’d gladly renew my subscription, as well as buy tickets to the four season specials.

Is this official? Was hoping for this to be at the Colonial...

If true, currently it seems like the broadway in Boston season will be including Cats and Come From Away. Hoping for Torch Song, The Band's Visit, My Fair Lady, OOTI if it tours, and Jesus Christ Superstar.

Or Segerstrom Center in Costa Mesa

At the Pantages, I believe Frozen is the only show confirmed to come. Summer is also expected to play in LA, but where is still unclear. Anastasia hits the west coast at the end of the current season, so I'd expect it to play there early. In terms of new touring productions, I'd expect just about all of them to stop at either the Pantages or the Ahmanson, including The Band's VisitMean Girls, Jesus Christ Superstar, and one or more of the tropical shows (Margaritaville, SpongeBobOOTI).

In Costa Mesa, again, Anastasia should play there, along with Miss Saigon. Considering the Segerstrom pairs a lot with the Pantages/Ahmanson, expect a lot of overlap with new shows.

The Dolby?  Egads.  That theater is a giant barn.  Last time I was there was to see Kathy Griffin (who of course was brilliant) but that theater is not meant for touring productions

Too big of a house - I think early on they had lots of random non equity tours but its a game changer with having proper shows there

I feel like it would be complicated having lengthy run of Hamilton at the Dolby, especially since that’s where the Oscars and other major tv/film stuff happen. I’m not sure why the pantages can’t arrange an agreement with the ahmanson.

And I'd love to hear anything the group knows about Houston. We've been teased that DEAR EVEN HANSEN will be part of the next season, but no idea exactly when. Also, with TUTS (supposedly) doing all locally-produced shows again next season, we are limited in the number of tours we will get. Usually 6 regular shows and 2 add-ons with BAA. I'm expecting HELLO, DOLLY! and COME FROM AWAY but no idea beyond that. There are too many choices and only a handful of spots.

Houston has announced as early as January and as late as March. Not sure what to expect this time.

@Ceej: I can confirm that Houston will be announcing in March, but I don't have a specific date. As for the possible shows, 3 out of the 9 shows at the Hobby in the current season are first-run; so, beyond DEH, I'd also expect CFA and possible either Fiddler or Dolly. Because it's starting next year, it's also possible that Cats'll stop there. It's also been three seasons since Wicked has been in Houston, so maybe a return is in order. If I had to guess first-run shows: SpongeBob, Mean Girls, and OOTI might be good candidates. Escape to Margaritaville was already there for its pre-Broadway run, but it I could also see it returning.

@Kruth1: As for Phoenix's shows: although the shows they have this season weren't first-run direct from Broadway, they were (outside of Chicago) first-run shows returning to the touring circuit. I'm too unfamiliar with the history of the Orpheum to even take a stab. Sorry!

Thank you MTH. Appreciate any details you can share. I'm expecting similar. If we only have 6-8 slots I sure hope we don't get a returning show like MARGARITAVILLE to take one of those prized spots. I'd rather have something that hasn't visited before. And I agree about WICKED - I've been assuming it would return also since it has been several years. It seems to come almost every other year here. LION KING does similar but was just here last season as an add-on.

Just got a confirmation that Bandstand and An American in Paris will both be in the touring circuit in the 19/20 season. This was deduced via a survey done by Cal Poly Arts (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/9ZQC78R), which is surveying its patrons for shows to bring there next season. I was also able to confirm the show's intent to tour nationally with CPA's director. This means we'll finally get that Bandstand tour promised when the show closed in 2017 (see https://bit.ly/2R3xHmQ). It's still using The Road Company for booking.

Regarding the return of An American in Paris, the booking company for the show is In House Booking: http://inhousebooking.com/an-american-in-paris/, which is using Big League Productions.

Please note that things could still change, but, as far as announcements go, this is worth mentioning!

Toronto we usually get end of February/mid March. Would love to know if anything is coming. I know we are getting Hamilton (early 2020), and The Girl From the North Country (fall 2019). With our presenter (David Mirvish) a producer of Anastasia and The Band's Visit on Broadway, I wouldn't be surprised to see those, as well as Mean Girls, or Hello Dolly to satisfy the older audience.

Question: does anyone else notice a pattern in their city's seasons? Like Toronto always gets a show to bring your family to around Christmas, there is a classic musical for the older crowd, and something random, etc?

2019-2020 Touring Season
Posted by MTH85 2018-12-22 16:22:39

@fashionguru_23: Good question! I can only speak in general terms, as it will vary from venue to venue, and there are over 300 venues in the US that will present at least one show this current season. Many of the major venues here in the US will have an anchor show (i.e. a show that will stay for longer than a week: e.g. Wicked, Hamilton, Aladdin) and build around that. Major venues, in states such as California and Florida, will typically have multiple shows play back-to-back in-state. For example, Hello, Dolly played in Miami, then Orlando, then Tampa, then West Palm Beach. This makes sense from a logistics standpoint. Another trait is that the top five-to-ten major cities (e.g. L.A.'s Pantages, Denver, Charlotte, Chicago) will play a majority or almost all of the first national touring productions in a season ("new" shows as well as "new revivals". (Chicago will have multiple shows going at the same time but in different theatres, as is the case right now.) It's also typical for a majority of the shows that play in cities like L.A., San Francisco, and Chicago to have longer engagements. I hesitate to say that a venue HAS to schedule a certain amount of revivals/new revivals in their season, but they probably try to balance things out with the new shows as well as what's available. One final trait for the major venues, that I can think of, is that almost all will present a new show within the first two years of the tour (if it lasts that long). So, for example, if your venue didn't get Dear Evan Hansen this season, and you typically get newer shows, it will most likely come the following season, which definitely tests people's patience! For venues in mid-major markets, they typically present anywhere from one to five/six shows that are in their second, third (or older) year touring. Their engagements typically last anywhere from one to six days. Every once and a while, a major-market venue will present an older/non-anchor show (e.g. Jersey Boys or Chicago), which can throw a curve at us who like to predict the seasons (!). Touring Broadway holiday shows aren't a necessity for venues to present as there are fewer shows available and they have a short lifespan (typically mid-November through December). I haven't noticed any trends in the makeup/demographics of the shows (family-friendly, mature-audiences), but I'm sure that venues try to balance things out to appeal to their audience. I'm sure others can contribute more traits that'll be better and more specific than mine, but those are the ones I've observed. Cheers!

The Pantages in Hollywood frequently goes an extended run of a family musical for the holidays that has rotated between The Lion King and Wicked. It seems like they are on a 3 year return cycle, but could be wrong.   Extended being greater than the normal 3 week subscription run of Pantages shows.  They've also had "Donnie and Marie Christmas show" Grinch, on years w/o LTK and Wicked

I so wish the Pantages was moving their subscription series to the Wilshire Theatre like they did for Wicked and Lion King's extended sit down.  The Dolby is just an awful venue.  There is no way to put a positive spin on that place.

Lastly, while I am frequently jealous of the NYC folks who post on here, I guess we are lucky in Los Angeles.  There isn't ever a question IF something is going to come to LA early in the tour.  Our question is, will it play the Ahmanson or Pantages.

Yup fingers crossed we get some new shows this year instead of Wicked, BOM, or Phantom again. DEH is part of the season, personally I’m hoping for Waitress or Miss Saigon as well. I have no specific dates (someone else might), but here's a list of what to expect...

(mid-Jan): Ft. Lauderdale

(late-Jan): Miami, Minneapolis, (poss) San Jose (it may be early Feb)

Kansas City seems to be on a good trend (three of the last four years) of announcing on a Sunday in mid/late January.

Seattle also seems to be an early-January announcer, based on the past two years, but that may not be the case this year.

Jorge's post made me think two things.

First, unless you're in the cast, why would anyone care what Equity Contract the show is on?

Second, and to be clear I haven't seen the show, but from what I've seen from the Tony Awards, the reviews and overall plot, if it hadn't won Best Musical Tony, I doubt it would have even toured.  I don't see it selling thousands of tickets in the heartland.  A small equity first national tour that hits the major cities; LA, SF, Chicago, DC, and a maybe a few others and then relaunch as Non-equity.   I'll be first to admit I don't know all of the in and outs of the different Equity contract difference between the Production Contract and the various lower tiers.  Just because a show squeaked a recoup  on Broadway does not mean it's going out on the Production contract.

I'm looking forward to seeing it when it plays LA.  (I assume Ahmanson) .

Contract tiers are notable to those interested in the business side of show business. Theres no correlation between contract and the level of talent on stage, but knowing what contract a tour is on can lend some insight into the budget of the show and the attitude of the producers.

I’m not sure how that works, but how is it that cities well within 90 days of their official announcements don’t already know in concrete what shows they’ll be having for the 2019/2020 season. You’d think they had everything signed, sealed, and packaged, waiting for the chance to jump on season ticket sales just after they announce. I know Pittsburgh announced March 25 last year, were renewing subscriptions on the 27th, and by April 2nd were taking season ticket waitlists. Seems like all the work that goes into that would take months of preparation for the invites, announcement ceremonies like with Cleveland and Pittsburgh doing those type of events, and setting the details for packages.

A small equity first national tour that hits the major cities; LA, SF, Chicago, DC, and a maybe a few others and then relaunch as Non-equity. I'll be first to admit I don't know all of the in and outs of the different Equity contract difference between the Production Contract and the various lower tiers. Just because a show squeaked a recoupon Broadway does not mean it's going out on the Production contract.

I'm looking forward to seeing it when it plays LA. (I assume Ahmanson) .

In Phoenix, (Tempe actually, at Gammage Auditorium)  the schedule is generally introduced around Easter.

I would love to have DEH back this coming season, but maybe it will skip a year since it was just here. On the other hand it did break a record for immediate sellout here so it would be tempting to send it back soon.

D.C. theatres usually announce in April/May. The Band's Visit is scheduled to come this summer (Jul 9-Aug 4) to the Kennedy Center. As for the 19/20 season, all that's known so far is that Escape to Margaritaville and Summer are coming. If I had to speculate, I'd also throw in Come From Away, CatsFiddlerCharlie and the Chocolate Factory, Mean Girls, and maybe My Fair Lady among others.

Fair Point!

I don’t really agree with your second point. Recouping on tour is often easier to do thanrecouping on broadway. Mostly due to the fact most stops are subscription based houses and since the Bands Visit is on subscription packages they are garunteed nearly a full house. It’s unfortunate that the best musical winner isn’t going out on production contract, because it can sustain it. Especially since popular shows like Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton are also on those packages making it even more likely that the shows will sell out.
"

I disagree with your comment.  The Band's Visit shouldn't be on a Production Contract because it might hope to be paired with Hamilton or Dear Even Hanson in the same season so they will have an inflated season subscription count that season.  The reason the contract tiers exists as shows weren't making (enough?) money on the road and 1st National Tours started going out Non-Equity.  Again, no slight to The Bands Visit.  I know it's a great, but smaller show but it is not on the same level of audience excitement as Hamilton, Wicket, Lion King or DEH.

We did the math once on the Pantages, which may not be universal across the country.  They sell about 2/3 of the house to subscription and flex subscriptions.  Leaving 1/3 for single tickets.

I hope to see Dear Evan Hansen on tour in Buffalo (just under 3 hours from my hometown) for my birthday in May. Hamilton is also coming a couple hours away from me around the same time but I highly doubt I'd be able to see both... And then Finding Neverland is coming to Syracuse at the end of May and that's just over an hour or so from where I live, if I'm home at the time.

I go to school in VT and we don't get that many tours, but I did see Something Rotten! in November, and I'm probably/hopefully seeing The Sound of Music next month.

Anyone know when Orlando plans on announcing?

2019-2020 Touring Season
Posted by MTH85 2019-01-06 16:53:31

I personally do not know, but I do know that the Florida Theatrical Association has some policy where Florida venues have to space their announcements in a certain way so that they're not too close to each other. Tampa is planning on announcing on March 18, which is the latest they've announced for a long time (pre-2010). Since 2014, Orlando has announced their season only one time before Tampa announced theirs (2017), but I can't imagine them waiting until April to do so this year. Plus, this will be an anniversary year for the Dr Phillips Center (5 years), which is an incentive to announce earlier. Since the center's been open, they announce in early March on average. They did announce in early February back in 2017, so it's possible they'll announce around that time. If you're wondering which shows'll be coming, stay tuned for Ft Lauderdale's announcement happening within a couple of weeks. A lot of new shows that are currently playing there are doubled up in Orlando. Also pay attention to Miami's announcement later this month for more possible shows. Hope that helps!

In addition to Cleveland, it's playing at the Pantages in LA and in Schenectady. Guessing other venues, perhaps Pittsburgh/Philly, Greenville, Charlotte/Durham, Chicago, Providence, Denver (could it return so soon?), Costa Mesa and maybe the Sans.

What I'll be interested to see is how long are the typical engagements (a week vs. two+ weeks), and whether any venues will double up with another Disney show (Lion King or Aladdin) in the same season.

The hints they dropped on their IG account indicate that CFA is coming and either Aladdin or Frozen. My guess is Aladdin since it has yet to tour Florida and it seems it's due to go there.

CFA makes sense since it missed FTL this season and will probably be also going to other places it missed in Florida this season like Miami, Naples, and West Palm.

The listing for Miss Saigon stems back to an article put out by the PPAC which revealed all of the cities it would go to (see page 1 of this post for the link). The article was deleted a short time after it was published. I clipped the list and used it in the spreadsheet just in case it turned out to be accurate. However, I will say that the list included Fort Lauderdale, which does not have it playing there this nor next season. So, could plans have changed and some locations were removed? (it's possible) Or could it be touring past the 19/20 season? (also possible)

Spring Awakening - October 2019
Elf the Musical - December 2019
Once on This Island - February 2020
Pure Country - April 2020
Newsies - May 2020

Don't have more than this and not sure which will be locally produced and which will be tours, if any. This past season was all locally done. I'd assume Chorus Line, Elf and Once on This Island might be tours, especially the latter. Pure Country had a world premiere in Dallas in 2017. Curious about the rest.

Just got an email from BAA Houston saying they would be announcing in March. Does not specify an actual date unfortunately. DEAR EVAN HANSEN has already been announced and CATS is one of the shows, coming in October. Curious to see the rest but I suspect COME FROM AWAY and HELLO, DOLLY! will be two of them.

I think this is technically a 2018-2019 Season tour, but Miss Saigon is going to be in Dallas from May 14th to the 26th at Music Hall at Fair Park. I'm a few hours away but I wanted to buy independent tickets and go see it. I was wondering, what is the best place to get those tickets?

I normally see shows through Broadway in Austin at Bass Concert Hall, and they have their own first-party/non-resale digital box office built into their own site. On the contrary, I couldn't find where Music Hall at Fair Park is selling their Broadway Across America tickets. The Miss Saigon website takes you to Broadway.com, but as far as I'm aware they are a re-seller and I really do not like buying from them.

The tour is listed on Ticketmaster, but the actual Dallas dates are missing from it's calendar. Does this mean they literally just aren't on sale anywhere yet? If they are on-sale, where can I go to get them first-party, or at a non-resale site. Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm pretty well-versed in buying for Broadway shows (Ticketmaster/Telecharge/etc.) but I don't really understand where to look for most national tours.

The projection screens won’t be a problem, but they will definitely have to restage the show without the elevators used on Broadway.

Houston's Theatre Under the Stars is announcing at 2pm today. Expecting:

A Chorus Line - September 2019
Spring Awakening - October 2019
Elf the Musical - December 2019
Once on This Island - February 2020
Pure Country - April 2020
Newsies - May 2020

I believe CHORUS LINE, ELF and ONCE ON THIS ISLAND are tours, rest I believe are locally produced. Not 100% sure though. They will be streaming the announcement on their Facebook page.

I've never managed to see Beautiful and have heard really good things about it, so I'm excited that it's coming to SF. (I'm assuming this is still the equity tour? SHN seems to only do equity productions).

Will likely pass on Rent - I love the show, but I've heard mixed things about the 20th anniversary tour.

I think this is outside the season.  Last year at this time they announced Les Mis and Phantom, which were not part of the 2018-2019 season.  Last year's announcement came around the first week of February.

Okay, that makes sense, as does the Les Mis/Phantom comparison (I can see how season subscribers wouldn't necessarily want to have two shows that have already been in the area).

I know we're already getting Mean Girls and The Band's Visit, but I'm curious what else.

Also, reading the rest of this thread makes me realize that shows stop in SF for a (comparatively) long time! I was surprised to see that even the equity shows only stop in some cities for a week.

Upcoming announcement schedule:

  • Miami: Fri, Jan 25
  • Las Vegas: Mon, Jan 28  (announcement ~7PM MDT)
  • San Jose: Tue, Jan 29
  • Minneapolis: Fri, Jan 31

According to their FB pages, Miami's season has 6 shows (including "Hamilton", and Minneapolis will be posting show clues each day on their FB page at 3 PM CST starting tomorrow (Thursday) until their reveal, which brings their total to 7-8 shows depending on how you interpret the message. San Jose and Vegas should provide some general insight as to what to we'll see out West. We have yet to get any locations for "SpongeBob," and "My Fair Lady" so perhaps they will start out there.

I also got a show survey from the Capitol Center in Concord, NH which had "The Color Purple" listed as an possible option for their 19/20 season ("Jersey Boys" and "Beautiful" were the other options). So, I'm guessing it's returning after pretty much being off for a season. (Survey for reference: http://app.surveymethods.com/EndUser.aspx?E3C7ABB3EAA5B4B5E4)

I saw all of those tours in Los Angeles.  I didn't care for Finding Neverland - but that was more about the actual show than the cast.  I thought the 20th Anniversary Rent tour was awful.  I am a fan of Rent, but this version felt like a hot mess.  I saw a regional production the year before that was much better than the tour.  The rest of those shows were great - with very strong casts.

Thanks Morris. I hadn't seen this yet; probably missed the email from the Pantages.

I'm dreading the Dolby but can't wait to see what's coming next.  Guest Services on the phone (when I called about unrelated subscription question) said only one show this upcoming season will be at the Dolby.  I'll take that with a grain of salt until official, but we know Hamilton is coming to camp out for an extended stay, so they have to move somewhere.  Even if it's just one show next seasons, that just means most of the season after will be at the Dolby.

I also have to learn new parking tricks/spots for the Dolby.

@Mike - regarding the Millie and South Pacific tours, it says they are split weeks or one nighters, so I'd expect non-equity if that's true.

@BroadwayinAtl - I read a Forbes article about the Dolly tour that said it was a two-year tour. If so, that means more dates are coming. I'm hoping it will be a part of BAA Houston's season. I'm also curious to see if Betty Buckley is a part of the second year, if there indeed is one.

Well they did say that the musical will start touring in the fall of this year. I would hope we get some dates and locations for them soon, but it might not come until a couple of months from now. I don't really know when most shows tend to announce their touring dates prior to the first stop.

I bit the bullet & subscribed to the Vancouver broadway series for next year.  Usually I just pick 1 or 2 shows, but at least there wasn't anything lame like Illusionists in the series this year, all the dates work with my proposed 2020 vacation dates, & good seats came out to half what I paid to see shows in mezz seats in NY.  I just saw DEH at Xmas in NY, & wasn't blown away, but I'll give it a second chance.  The one thing that I kinda wonder is about Finding Neverland - not the show itself, but the producers: does Harvey Weinstein still get a cut of this?

Anyone know, which tour versionsare most worth it? I figure Hansen and Waitress?

Is the Rent 20th any good? Non-Eq? Whos doing it?

I've only been to the Dolby once but the parking structure is pretty big, and it takes you directly to the main entrance. 17 bucks is a bit more than the $10 for parking at the Montalban structure though.

I know Hollywood & Highland parking structure is easy and direct to the theatre.  However, $17 will get old quick.  Music Center is $9, I normally park at the Monltaban structure for the Pantages.   It might be cheaper to walk to one of the movie theatres, buy a ticket, get validated and then head to Dolby.

I have seen Rent four times, the last being the non-equity 20th anniversary production.  I love Rent, but was very disappointed by the 20th production.  I almost left at intermission.  The band was noticeably paired down and the vocal performances were weak.  Didn't know it was non-equity until after the show.

Well at The Dolby Theatre, you're still able to get validation for parking. Granted, not at the actual theatre, but most of the shops and restaurants there do validate. It may not save you a bunch of money, but it still helps. Each time I've parked there, the most I've had to pay was about $12. If I get lucky, I pay as low as $8, since I'd be there for a few hours.

As of right now, yes! It should be around in Texas in January 2020. More will info will come next week. Don't know about the lead, though. I doubt Betty Buckley will be back, but you never know.

Hm very interesting. Wonder what big name they could get who would tour as well. I'd love to see Andrea Martin or Beth Level in the role although those aren't happening. Would be nice to see Jessica Sheridan get the bump but this show is always known for having a "star". Excited to see!

No disrespect to Ms. Buckley, but I’m not sure she’s a household name in 2018/2019. So uncertain how much her name is helping to sell tickets. I actually hope that Donna Murphy steps back into the role for the second year. She is the only one of the three principal revival Dollys that I didn’t get to see.

She's not, but she is a Broadway legend which is who they try and go for I feel. It'll be interesting to see what they do.

Between Betty Buckley’s tv and Broadway career, I think her name is big enough to sell tickets. I know of a few people who specifically bought Pantages tickets just to see her.

Is the On Your Feet tour done after this season? I haven’t seen it pop up for next season yet. I had been hoping to see it one more time.

Les Mis is part of the current season. I'm hoping many of the subscribers that joined last yr to get priority tix this year will not renew so we can have better tix choice and easier tix exchange.

Les Mis is at Bass Performance Hall in Dallas, not Bass Concert Hall in Austin. I think I’d rather have Frozen than Aladdin but that’s just personal preference, I saw it in NYC and didn’t particularly love it. Either way I definitely think we’re due for a Disney show.

If Hello, Dolly! is set to come to Texas then that’d make sense to go to Austin. I also think Come From Away is a given, as far as I’m aware it has barely travelled in our direction. Also hoping for Mean Girls but I don’t have any reason to think it’d go here versus anywhere else.

Any word on Tampa, Orlando, or West Palm Beach? Tampa has typically announced in February the past few years, last year was February 4th, and since we are almost to that stretch of time, surprised no announcement date has been revealed yet? Orlando has typically been in March, so I’m guessing that trend will continue? Seems like West Palm Beach usually announces their season around the same time as Fort Lauderdale and Miami, both of which have already announced their seasons, but still no word for there as well?

Houston BAA just sent out an interesting email. They're asking for people who attend shows in NYC regularly to come to the Hobby Center (our venue in Houston) to film testimonials for shows for their upcoming season. They list 11 shows for what is usually a 6 show plus 2 optionals season. So I assume some aren't coming, but the list is:

A BRONX TALE
CATS (confirmed for this season - not sure if part of subscription or optional show)
CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY
COME FROM AWAY
DEAR EVAN HANSEN (also confirmed for this season)
DISNEY'S FROZEN
FIDDLER ON THE ROOF
HELLO, DOLLY!
MEAN GIRLS
SUMMER: THE DONNA SUMMER MUSICAL
THE BAND'S VISIT

BwayLB: a rep from the Segerstrom told me today that they plan on announcing their Broadway season this month. My guess is that it'll happen later than sooner. If they don't plan on publishing a date, watch their BAA page when it switches over to the new template. That may give you a good indication that they're close to announcing (somewhere between 1-2 weeks, maybe longer).

They have only said they are not selling the uppermost balcony for Pantages shows.

I have side orchestra tickets at the Pantages that I love due to the price point and how great the seats are.  We were moved to rear Mezz 1 for Dolby shows.
