Be More Chill Off-Broadway Official Thread  Aug 2 2018, 12:39:03 AM

I genuinely think this has a possibility of transferring or extending... thoughts? Even StubHubhas $10,000 resell tickets. I have never seen an example of a fandom so energized that propel a show to Broadway? Everythi

Violet blows up--literally. Her costume expands like in the movies, she goes offstage and then blows up and her father, who was at the edge of the stage is showered with her guts. It's not gory--but it's purple stuff ,ribbons and fabric, etc--&nb

Altered, but alive.Or even just have Wonka say outrightthat there's a way to restore them, the way he does in the movie. The fact that the musical just kind of outright kills the kids, as opposed to punishing them and their parents but leaving them alive, is the worst thing about it."

Charlie & The Chocolate Factory Tour  Jul 29 2018, 02:48:56 PM

Like I said, the kids around me were fine, but the girls demises in the show were extreme. My daughter, who doesn't even like kids, was horrified for the children in the audience. I'm thinking most kids viewed it as cartoon violence and were fine. Personally, it seemed like one of those Putnam County Spelling Bee nights for Adults--ramp up the off-color jokes,violence--in this case-for the adults only show. That said, it all happens so fast and the show doesn't dwell on it. I

Yes, the kids around me--including a VERY well behaved toddler--were fine. My late teen daughter and I were way more shocked. I agree with the above poster that in the book/movie the kids

I was in complete shock the entire time during the Veruca sequence, because I just couldn't believe it was happening and that families had brought their kids to this.

I know someone going out on the tour and I wasn't planning on seeing this again, but I'm definitely going to see them in it.

It was more of a "I can't believe they just did that in a kids' show" moment. Also, Violet blowing up off stage and her father covered in purple 'gore' had the same effect. Stunned silence, jaws dropping and then shocked laughter from a lot of the people sitting around us.

Yes, it was easier to take an adult being ripped apart  by giant, fanged rodents  than had it been a child actor---the audience's utter shock after that scene was a sight to see.

My daughter just pointed out that Ethan Slater would make a great Mike Teavee.

I thought there was a creepiness in Dear Evan Hansen--the song about what the brother liked about the sister (which was all Evan, and then tree song)

We liked his online stuff for the show, but yeah, to each their own. Looking forward to seeing him live.

I am a hefty girl. I stand at 5'11 and I'm over 125 pounds. That door made me wish I was an adult male.
When Jenna came out, everybody screamed. Then, George came out and everybody pushed into the flimsy barrier, almost trampling Jenna. Nobody noticed Roland coming out due to all of the chaos. A girl threw a poster over my head, but she had warned me. 2 people under 5 feet each almost got trampled by this pushin

There was nothing in the show I saw that made me to think Michael was gay--or that Michael, knowing how much his friend was into Christine would make a move. I

I was just hoping they revised to make it cleaner--not to cater to the fans.

The show we saw at Sacred Heart U didn't have anything us old-folk might find hard to follow. I did think it needed a major revision though--like, just the book writer going through things one or two more time to clean things up. There are a lot of fun songs so I'm hoping to see a cleaner version in August.

THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG Sets August 26 Closing Date  Jul 25 2018, 11:06:51 PM

We just watched Peter Pan Goes Wrong (hilarious, but not as good as this show) and we got to talking about The Play that Goes Wrong and were having a disagreement about a scene. Which character does "The Ledger" bit? I was thinking it was the detective, but daughter thought the butler. We saw it early in its run so our memories are cloudy.
