“Michael in the Bathroom” has millions of hits on YouTube. Surely this is more hype than any other off-Broadway show in recent memory? It’s hard to imagine this material on Broadway but I can imagine a good sales person convincing investors they might be part of the next Dear Evan Hansen. I wouldn’t say a Broadway transfer is a categorical no at this stage.

If this is what she wants, then so be it - but I personally wish she'd move onto different things than just performing the same old concerts with the same old songs. The question is not if this will transfer but when. This is a big fat capital H hit. I’m sure they’re just trying to find theatres, think of logistics, schedules, timing - maybe some smart commercial negotiations. It’s a story audiences will want to see. Songs audiences want to hear. It’s executed in an incredibly entertaining manner. If I could invest $$$ in this show I would.
I personally think the physical production was too large and too distracting in hindsight. I hope if they transfer they scale it back a little and just make sure the focus is on the only reason everyone is there in the first place: Bryan Cranston.
Apparently she had a walking stick for the entire show. Seems unlikely she will be carrying 8 performances - it is easy to forget given the tragedy that she herself was injured!

Part of the confusion is that the theatre are not explicit about who is on. Or at least they weren’t. They don’t have a printed board etc or slips in a program. So I think some people have been confused about whether she has gone on or not. But my understanding is there is no good evidence to believe she actually has been on.
This could have a prestigious run off-Broadway for a couple of months and maybe pay for some of its costs, but unless you're a sadist I'm not sure why any producer would want to see this stagger to half-empty, papered houses on Broadway - losing every penny, or pence* rather, put into it. Keep the intimacy, audience and excitement where it belongs Off-Broadway!

I guess it depends on the outcome - if someone is producing this thinking it will make $$ I doubt we'll see it on Broadway in the next 10 years. But perhaps 20. If someone is producing this not expecting to make a $$ then who knows how soon it could happen.

I have seen the show and in defense of the show, it's not about what I want it to be about. It doesn't attempt to tackle the issue of why 9/11 happened because that's not the story it aims to tell (it would be far more brave and noncommercial if it did).
It's a lot more pleasant to watch people who "Come From Away" get along with each other and put their differences aside to cooperate (a major theme of the show) than to address why these differences
My initial reaction is it sounds like an awful idea. However, maybe it'll finally be a good thing that a musical will explore some of the actual causes of 9/11 rather than sweep it under the rug like Come From Away.
