Wanted Harry Potter Playbill  Mar 12 2019, 01:24:26 PM

Hi,

Live in Southern California.  For my Mom's upcoming 75th birthday, I've purchased tickets for my parents and I to see Harry Potter in SF.

If anyone has a extra Playbill from the Broadway production that they are willing to sell inexpensively, please let me know.  I don't care about original coast, etc, mostly want the Front Cover Page so there is something to "open." as a gift.

Please PM me if you can help.  Thanks. Doug

CENTER THEATER GROUP - Worst Season Ever?  Mar 6 2019, 03:58:12 PM

Assuming the Ahmanson did not get a new House Manager, and is still the lady that is has been for years, she has never been anything but friendly and helpful anytime I've interacted with her, even just passing hellos.  Must strongly disagree with you..  Whil

CENTER THEATER GROUP - Worst Season Ever?  Mar 2 2019, 12:21:54 PM
I’m going to disagree with OP on Mathew Bourne and Swan lake. I’m glad that is part of the season.

That said two one-man shows, one of which is already on Netflix?
Ahamnson used to pull off Pre Broadway engagements of musicals and remounts of Broadway plays with the original broadway cast. How did this poor season get put together.

I have had no issues with customer service although admittedly I don’t call often since you can exchange tickets for free online. I

2019-2020 Touring Season  Mar 2 2019, 11:36:05 AM
I agree this is one of the weakest Ahmanson seasons in recent memory. Normally when the musicals have been weak that have managed to at least remount a play with original Broadway cast. (God of Carnage, The humans) One-persons shows that would be a much better fit at the Taper and will be swallowed up by the Ahmanson even with the back half of the Mezz and Balcony closed don’t count.

I also want to be slightly annoyed that Book of Mormon isn’t a bonus add on however I think I pos

I was at Mathew Bourne's Cinderella at the Ahmanson over the weekend and asked at the subscription desk when they were announcing.  They said in 3 weeks.  Take it for what it's worth, but someone nearby said the boxoffice had told them the same. I guess that makes it Mid-March.

What show should the palace theatre reopen with in 2021  Feb 19 2019, 04:07:09 PM

I just wanted to know when you were typing the subject line of "reopen in 2021" were you actually laughing out loud or more sarcastically snickering..

NEW FOOTAGE OF BUCKLEY IN DOLLY TOUR!  Feb 16 2019, 02:39:14 PM

I am not sure the Ahmanson can host a Non-Equity tour.  If they do, they will still need to pay the LORT  rates.  (I think the Ahmanson is at the top LORT A tier)   Assuming the tour is budgeted at a lower non-equity payment scale, it pr

Into the Woods at The Hollywood Bowl  Feb 8 2019, 01:28:29 PM

Hollywood Bowl shows on Friday and Saturdays have a published start at 8:30 PM, more realistically 8:40-45 after the late start and the National Anthem is done and the Bowl has a hard curfew stop of 11 PM. You have less than 2.25 hours, including intermission.

Most of the musicals are "trimmed."   However, you've picnic'd, had wine, dessert at intermission and are at a beautiful venue under the stars. Just enjoy the show as presented and enjoy

Pantsges thoughts

Shows all look great except one.

I’ll be listing Summer for sale the moment single ticket go on sale.

Slightly annoyed they couldn’t just give Hamilton as part of subscription. You know everyone is going to want buy it.

On a flip side Hamilton. I hope your run is short so we get out of the Dolby ASAP. I know it’s not going to happen that way but hoping for a one year run not five years

They have only said they are not selling the uppermost balcony for Pantages shows.

I have side orchestra tickets at the Pantages that I love due to the price point and how great the seats are.  We were moved to rear Mezz 1 for Dolby shows.

Overnight bag into a theater?  Feb 3 2019, 02:12:25 PM
Walk into closet hotel, walk up to bell hop with dollar bills in your hand, ask to check bag, tip, come back after show, tip again, go wherever you were going.

I've only been to the Dolby once but the parking structure is pretty big, and it takes you directly to the main entrance. 17 bucks is a bit more than the $10 for parking at the Montalban structure though.
"

I know Hollywood & Highland parking structure is easy and direct to the theatre.  However, $17 will get old quick.  Music

Pantages website is saying 8 show season. Im facing a hard time believing that unless its 5-6 core shows and 2-3 returning bonus options.
Received snail mail from them yesterday. Well know our new Dolby seat location on Feb 5th as well.

Betty Buckley is out again?  Jan 24 2019, 04:11:07 PM

I thought Wicked is still playing at the Pantages and Dolly doesn't even open until next week?

not that I don't blame her for wanting to go to Disneyland....

Thanks Morris. I hadn't seen this yet; probably missed the email from the Pantages.

I'm dreading the Dolby but can't wait to see what's coming next.  Guest Servi

Majestic Theatre seating  Jan 17 2019, 08:37:33 PM
If you have nothing but $$ I would pick Front Mezz for the original Phantom staging every time. Especially over rear orchestra.

That said I agree with the above person who said TKTS (or at least find a good Coupon code )

Haters hate on Phantom but it is so much better than the all new national tour version. #Classic. Although the Vegas verson may have been my favorite.

I spoke to Michael at the stage door after the closing performance - he said that LA, Chicago, and Minneapolis are definitely on the list. The rest of the cast said they know nothing about casting/dates, etc. It is happening for sure.

Yay.  Good to be in LA

In Los Angeles we saw the alternate Evan and dont feel like we missed a thing. He was great. If it was Alt vs Ben Platt I would have been bummed but all the reviews say both Evans on the tour are great.
