I can't be the only one who thinks that the producers did an atrocious job handling this situation, right? There was no clarity about whether Miles was actually coming back, leading many critics to incorrectly report that they saw her, and leaving Naoko Mori without the true credit she deserved. I understand the producers didn't want to tell Miles not to do the show, but couldn't they have...been a little clearer about the fact that she has not been in the show yet?

Also, both Norbert Leo Butz and Linda Mugleston were out for yesterday's performance. Butz' understudy Joe Hart was a fantastic Alfred Doolittle, and came across as a little more menacing than Butz did. I told my friends afterwards that I felt a little bit like Hart's Doolittle has killed a man and would do it again. Liz McCartney was on as Mrs. Pearce and she was fine.

It's not my place to judge how someone chooses to grieve and work through their grief, but I do hope Miles is doing what's best for her and her husband by continuing with the show. I also wonder how the two actresses will share the role, since that isn't explained in the article. Was Miles going to start after the show opened, since she was going to have just given birth, or are they just alternating?
Based on another thread here, she basically receives fans at the stage door. At least at that performance, she stood and the fans came to her, I assume in an orderly fashion.
