FIDDLER ON THE ROOF National Tour  Oct 26 2018, 10:00:14 AM

dmwnc - You are so very welcome! It is truly a wonderful production and I hope you enjoy it when it heads to you in Pittsburgh.

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF National Tour  Oct 26 2018, 12:25:26 AM

I saw the tour tonight and it was wonderful. As I mentioned before Fiddler holds a special place in my heart as it was the first show I did.

The set was very nice - the biggest pieces being Tevye’s house that lowered in and out of scenes, Tevye’s barn in the second act, and the inn. The ensemble did a lot of moving of the set pieces and it felt very Bridges of Madison County in the way that it was done.

I had heard about the new opening scene set at the

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF National Tour  Oct 23 2018, 02:42:08 PM

^I'm seeing the tour on Thursday night as part of my subscription here in Philly. I know non-equity tour[s] are a no-no and I've seen some great non-equity tours (Once) and some not so great non-equity tours (Kinky Boots) but I am excited to see Fiddler since it holds a special place in my heart as the first show I ever did.

Recommendations for a 12 year old?  Oct 16 2018, 03:05:49 PM

I love Anastasia and I definitely think it's something a twelve year old could enjoy. I also second Wicked and Frozen as an option as well as School of Rock.

The cast will also include current The Book of Mormon star Dave Thomas Brown as Josh, with Ephie Aardema as Tai, Lori Alan as Miss Geist/Ms. Stoeger, Sara Andreas as Heather, Gilbert L. Mean Girls Fan Day Performance  Oct 5 2018, 09:58:05 PM

To steer this back to the topic on hand, the performance had such a great energy and the audience was very receptive and living for it. A little obnoxious perhaps, but you could tell the cast was loving it.

I ran up pretty close to curtain and caught the cast heading out for a photo op with the West Fetch Street sign.

Tina, Casey, Nell, Jeff, and Jonathan Bennett (Aaron Samuels from the movie) appeared before curtain with Jonathan giving the speech about how the sta

I was at Waitress too and I can second that not a peep was heard. It was pretty impressive to know the entire audience listened to the ushers.

If this is directed at me and calling me a stan, you don’t know what “Stan” means because I am in no way what anyone would call a stan. Please stop.

"

No, it was directed to the person i quoted who went off on some ridiculous tangent about how stans are ruining Broadway. I was in fact def

Extra stuff  Oct 2 2018, 12:42:00 AM

I definitely think this year in terms of crowds and such was better than last year even though every year it's definitely super crowded. I got there around 9:30-9:45 and it wasn't too bad other than the previously mentioned Mean Girls table which I still successfully got access to despite the crowd.

I always look forward to Flea Market and have never been disappointed and this year's weather couldn't have been more perfect and I had a blast just running around

Wicked - 15th Anniversary  Sep 23 2018, 09:18:30 AM

Jess is such a fantastic Elphaba and I am really glad she's finally made her way to Broadway after slaying it on tour for a year.

I saw Ryan and Jess together on Wednesday night this past week and they were very good together and Ryan is a very good Fiyero all around. On his Instagram the other day, Ryan indicated he'd be in the show until May 14th.

I don't think they'd do a new recording as others have mentioned it wouldn't merit it witho

I remember this happening and being discussed on The Guilty Ones when it happened including the girls who he harassed discussing what happened.

Heathers West End  Sep 8 2018, 08:59:09 AM

To turn this thread around a little bit - do we think it's possible after the London run there's a chance the show will come back to New York in some form?

Aladdin tour  Sep 1 2018, 11:34:23 PM

Disney has very strict security measures and they had a similar set up during the run in Philly. I personally think similar bag checks should continue to be done but it's definitely a Disney policy in place.

I had a very annoying experience with a man checking my bag at the Benedum back in February when I went to see Wicked. I had a standard size tote bag and each time I'd walk in with a group of friends all of whom had larger bags than mine I'd be told by the gentlem

Aladdin tour  Sep 1 2018, 02:31:17 PM

I had the pleasure of seeing the tour a few times when it was in Philly back in June/July and loved it. I had seen the show on Broadway with the original Broadway company and the tour company was every bit as good. I saw both Clinton Greenspan and Pierre Marais as Aladdin and both of them were wonderful and captured Aladdin's spirit and charms well with great voices and good looks to match. I loved Isabelle McCalla a lot as Jasmine and felt she brought more sass to the role than I remembe

Ryan McCartan is Wicked's Next Fiyero  Sep 1 2018, 08:54:43 AM

Curt was always meant to be a temp replacement between Ashley and Ryan, so it's not a matter of him being kept or not it was very much a temporary run.

Personally I'm excited to see Ryan as I loved his voice during Heathers and it's always nice to see Wicked bring in actual new blood to the show.

Mean Girls Stage Door  Aug 31 2018, 11:38:03 AM

It's about the same as it's been and the security gets testy about keeping people behind the barricades due to the construction near the stage door. In terms of who comes out - it varies, but I'd say Grey, Kyle, Cheech, Kerry and Taylor continue to be the people who come out most often with everyone else depending on the day.
