Titanic at Serenbe Playhouse ANYONE attending?  Aug 6 2018, 01:59:17 PM

They are VERY responsive on Facebook. I brought your message over to them about wishing this to be shown on PBS. They responded promptly: "We'd LOVE to do something like that, but have never really explored the option! Something to look into in the future for sure! There is something so magical about creating ephemeral art and we're so glad you could be apart of i

WOW...absolute wow!

Was it worth the time, money and energy to travel to see this...YES! YES!

I didn’t have tears running down my face like this when I saw the original production on Broadway years ago.

The environmental aspect of sitting in the front row ON the dock within arms reach of the “passengers”, watching the dock pull away as the ship launched, the various levels of the ship separated by class, the lighting and the deep bass vibration shaking us as the iceb

I know they're acting and hopefully safety precautions are in place but I feel as though I'd be uncomfortable watching that. I am nervous too! I am flying from NYC to see this and will only be spending overnight specifically to see this performance. Flying home the next morning. Miss Saigon was SO amazing two years ago that I decided to try my luck with the weather again for Ti

Is anyone attending TITANIC at the Serenbe Playhouse? Has anyone attended yet?

I will be at the performance on Saturday night August 4. Fingers crossed that weather won't prevent the entire production to take place as staged on the lake.

Will Julie Andrews EVER return to the Broadway stage  Jul 6 2018, 09:20:29 AM

Ethan22 said: "To do eight shows a week at 61 is difficult to say the least."

No wonder why she was never considered as a replacement for either Bette or Bernadette!

Having had the opportunity to me Ms Andrews on several occasions each under different circumstances it is merely polite to state that she is no Maria Von Trapp OR Mary Poppins. She is an absolutely unpleasant woman to her fans. I would not be interested in furthering her bank account via t

Why no Demand for Frozen? Any Thoughts ?  Apr 18 2018, 08:29:45 AM

There are currently no less that 4 stage versions of Frozen--on Broadway, on one of the Disney Cruise ships, at Disney World in a short sing along version and at Disneyland/California Adventure with a fully staged version (which does have a giant ice staircase). It is just possible parents (and even some little girls) are ready

FROZEN Reviews  Mar 23 2018, 08:45:29 AM

I rarely if ever care what the professional critics say and never do I let them influence my decision to attend a show or avoid it. I do find amusement in reading them though. The NY Times review does fall in line with my assessment of the show I attended this past Sunday with my 7 year old daughter who, big surprise, is infatuated with Frozen. I've seen the animated feature. We've attended Frozen on Ice - which sort of made sense considering that much of the plot taken place cov

How Do You Report Someone Selling Bootlegs?  Mar 6 2018, 12:21:03 PM

Have you ever purchased and listened to a bootleg...it is one of those experiences you do once and realize - This is SHIT quality, don't do that again. However, for shows that do not capture either the show or specific stars my opinion is - mind your own business.

Everyone walks in with baggage about what they are seeing on stage, due to the structure this country was built on. So what I was interested in seeing in this production was how they dealt with how Billy and Jigger are POC actors who serve to enact the primary violence in this play. Mostly, this production ignored it. So

Shows you loved the first time, but disliked the second time  Jan 16 2018, 03:14:19 PM

LOVED The Lion King the first time but unfortunately realized the second time that the wow factors for me were the big reveal moments of how artistically things were translated to the stage (example - the drought being a sheet slowly pulled through a hole in the center of the stage to show how the water disappeared.) Once you have seen it the first time it is no longer a wow that was cool moment.

LOVE NEVER DIES - US Tour  Jan 8 2018, 08:40:36 AM

Over the weekend I rewatched the DVD to see how close the touring production is to the recorded version - though I cannot speak for the first 25 minutes - it is nearly identical right down to the sets and costumes.

I loved watching it again on DVD and so wish I could attend the tour production again.

Yes I do travel to see productions if they won't be getting close to where I live. I know this tour is swooping closer to me but when it hits Hartford, CT - I will be in Chicago for the week! hahaha Unfortunately, because of the weather I did not stay in Providence. The curtain cam

LOVE NEVER DIES - US Tour  Jan 2 2018, 09:09:58 AM

I attended the matinee performance of Love Never Dies in Providence, RI on Saturday, December 30, 2017.

The weather was an absolute disaster. The planned 3 hour drive from New Jersey for me turned into just over 5 hours so I arrived 30 minutes into the first act. I was very disappointed but arrived safe in spite of all the accidents I passed along the way. When I left New Jersey a little after 9am nothing was happening and about half way into the trip 'snow happened'. It was li

LOVE NEVER DIES - US Tour  Dec 29 2017, 12:08:38 PM

I've seen the DVD of the show. It isn't the greatest but it isn't the worst show I've seen. To even try to say "why would people go see this live if it is available on DVD? means that you really don't grasp what LIVE theater is all about." If you attend a live performance of the same show more than one time, even in the same week, you will understand that the variation in audience members make the show as well as the show itself. I saw WICKED years ago and on a s

CATS minor choreography change?  Dec 11 2017, 11:07:03 AM

Saw this revival last year when it first opened and that choreography WAS in there. It is very noticeable. Just the two are dancing a very intimate loving ballet moment with the lights and focus entirely on them.

CATS minor choreography change?  Dec 11 2017, 10:30:51 AM

Has anyone familiar with the musical CATS noticed a specific movement change in the choreography between Victoria and Plato? I've attended CATS many times over the years, watched the DVD and always noticed when Plato 'claws' runs his two hands, with fingers extended, firmly down the front of Victoria's body from shoulders, across her breasts to her hips. When I attended the matinee performance on Sunday, December 10th...this was changed and not in there.

Wonder if

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Seating/Pricing Thread  Oct 19 2017, 11:08:43 AM

With an 11am access code - it took me almost 45 minutes to search for tickets. My goal was 6 tickets at the premium seating (yes, most expensive) eventually, I got so frustrated watching the calendar go from Green (available) to Yellow (some) to Red (sold out) and months pass from April to May to June to July availability that I reduced my request to 4 tickets in second best ($199 per ticket per show).

Ultimately ended up with Sunday, July 29, 2018 * ORCHRF, Row E, Seats 18-24

FROZEN to Officially Hit Broadway  Aug 14 2017, 10:44:33 AM

sigh.... Thank you for the "www1" trick. I was so focused on trying to grab my tickets that I missed seeing this until after the fact. At 9:59 when the map was showing there were 4 front row mezz right tickets available, then they shut the map off. I finally accepted 4 tickets in row B center so my 7 year old only needs to dodge on head in front of her. Then I saw your message! hahahah oh well too late because I got the tickets AND those 4 front row mezz are gone. Will use the tip i
