Reminds me when I booked tickets to the first preview of Dreamgirls in London and they were priced at £5.95 instead of £59.50. Had a call asking me to pay the remaining balance which I refused, and got an email the next day to say the mistake tickets would be honoured.
"Jamie" is a great show, I really do wonder if it could find success on Broadway. In London it is playing a fairly small venue (650 seats) and has a fairly big cast of 25 for a venue that size.
"Tina" is wonderful and I'm sure it will have great success on Broadway.
"Girl From the North Country" - I wasn't keen but it got great acclaim. It had a very successful limited run over here.

The side orchestra seats during the week go first. After that it’s partial view balcony.
Two Sundays ago I was first in line at 8:30am. There were only 4 SRO spots available that day. I believe they are the ones that are unused by the cast.
I also saw this production in London and thought Caroline O’Connor was incredible - I love Patti but I don't think she'd struggle to bring some of the subtleties which Caroline brought to the role. There is talk of this getting a transfer into one of the smaller West End Theatres (the rest of the Southwark run is sold out).
Maybe this would transfer somewhere Off-Broadway with Caroline.
I caught Phantom last week Thursday (only Broadway show with a Thursday matinee!) and it was in fantastic shape. Really excellent. Audience seemed to be made up of mostly school groups but wow they were well behaved, and the reveal of the staircase at the top of act two got a big gasp - the magic of live theatre I'm sure for many who this may be their first Broadway show.

I have just spent 10 days in New York from 1st-10th June, and saw 14 Broadway Musicals (and an Off-Broadway play) for a grand total of $660 ($44 per show average). Completely understand that, but there’s a way for the box office staff to communicate that without being aggressive and giving one word responses.
My parents arrived at 7am and got the last rush ticket. They were not selling SRO and were told to go back at 4. The woman in the box office spoke to them with such contempt they were horrified. One word responses and extremely abrupt.
I got there at 9am. There were probably another 6 behind me by the time it opened. Interesting to note the performance was advertised as sold out when we got there for the performance but the front centre orch was empty apart from two people.
i must say I thought the show was pretty awful. By far the weakest show I've seen this trip. I was so disappointed as I wanted to love it. By far the weakest of the best musical nominees for me.

I rushed this morning and there was about15 people in front of me. I was able to get two box rush tickets for the evening performance.

Just to warn you about Once On This Island lotto - last night they only had standing room tickets as it was a sold out show. 24 tickets at $49, and there must have been 100 or so people there. Luckily we won!
Being the only “new” show playing on a Monday is probably a factor. The only other options were Phantom, Chicago or School of Rock.
