The Cher Show-Broadway seating  Oct 25 2018, 07:37:22 PM

Stephanie J. Block is absolutely the best thing about this show.  I was at the press preview for the show and in the second act when she wins the Oscar for "Moonstruck", she comes up through the center of the stage in Cher's Oscar gown.  The place went nuts, so much so, that it ruined the rhythm of the show.  She stood there and could not believe the response from the audience.  She responded with some Cher body movement and said nothing.  It was an amaz

The Cher Show-Broadway seating  Oct 23 2018, 01:36:49 PM

My personal suggestion would be to play the lottery.  If it is set up the same as Chicago was, you would get front row tickets to see the show and see how amazing Bob Mackie's costumes and also see the three amazing actresses playing Cher!...

The Cher Show  Oct 19 2018, 10:53:58 PM

FameBroadway2: This show is far from terrible.  I found it incredibly interesting and still think about the show to this day.  I am very interested in seeing what changes get made when the show opens next month.  The jaw-dropping Bob Mackie costume parade in the first act is beyond amazing to see most of the costumes from her TV career marched across the stage.  Stephanie J. Block and Emily Skinner are both amazing and will get Tony noms.  No one really gives a bad pe

The Cher Show  Sep 7 2018, 11:21:20 AM

Doubly excited today:  Cher will be on Ellen today to talk about the new CD and she also announced that starting next year she will tour the US again!  Tickets go on sale starting September 14th!...

Tootsie - Chicago tryout  Sep 4 2018, 11:03:04 PM

Broadway in Chicago had a contest on Facebook for people to describe their most favorite personal theatre memory to win a pair of tickets to the opening night performance.  I describe a grade school memory and if everything goes the way I want, I can win tickets to this show like I did with "First Wives Club"!...

The Cher Show  Aug 31 2018, 04:36:41 PM

Unfortunately, there is really no part in the show for Ellen to play.  It would be really nice if Cher brought along the three actresses that play her to introduce them to everyone, watch the ticket sales jump then!...

The Cher Show  Aug 30 2018, 04:22:31 PM

Really wanted to have Bob Mackie sign my playbill the night of the press preview and chickened out at the last minute, especially since Cher was a no show.  Now I am wondering since she will be on "Ellen" next week to promote her new CD, will she mention the show at all, or is it too early for her to be talking about something that won't be happening for awhile?...

Barbara Harris has died  Aug 21 2018, 05:17:41 PM

I am selling an official stagebill and ticket stub for Barbara Harris' final stage performance in Chicago in "Prelude to a Kiss", directed by Sheldon Patinkin.

Bette Midler "Parade Passes By"  Aug 21 2018, 12:08:54 AM

I watched on Youtube, Donna Murphy performing "Before the Parade Passes By", and have one question.  I don't remember a baton being thrown up at the end of the song.  During this revival, has there ever been an incident where the toss to the actress was misjudged and wound up either hitting them or falling back into the pit...

Collins / Evans  Aug 6 2018, 02:24:09 PM

I saw the show when it played in Chicago, also being a huge "Dynasty" fan, I really wanted to see Linda Evans and Joan Collins.  I remember being very excited that we were sitting very close to the stage and then regretting soon after the play began.  Joan Collins came out on stage and looked amazing, then Linda Evans came out and looked like her very older sister.  The play itself was not anything to write home about.  Parts of the play were funny, parts very co

On Facebook today, someone posted a photo of the new marquee for the show at the Neil Simon Theatre.  Looks very spiffy!...

Mamma Mia-- CHER we go again!!!  Jul 29 2018, 08:10:02 PM

"BETTE MIDLER TO TAKE 'HELLO, DOLLY!' TO THE WEST END IN 2019"  Jul 24 2018, 07:28:38 PM

There is a rumour on British Theatre.com that Tony winner Bette Midler will be taking "Hello, Dolly!" to the West End sometime in 2019.  There is no theatre or time frame announced yet.

"'FOSSE/VERDON' COMING TO FX"  Jul 24 2018, 07:01:43 PM

Ryan Murphy has nothing to do with this series, he now has a development deal with Netflix.  I commend FX for findng appropriate replacement programming and not just rolling over because there is nothing new from Murphy, except for "American Horror Story", "Feud" and "American Crime Story".  I think that this series will introduce a whole new generation to Bob Fosse, who being the Broadway pioneer that he was, deserves this.

"'FOSSE/VERDON' COMING TO FX"  Jul 24 2018, 05:47:54 PM

Today the FX network announced that they will soon begin production on an eight-episode series, "Fosse/Verdon", about the relationship between Tony, Emmy and Oscar winner Bob Fosse and his wife Gwen Verdon.  Oscar winner Sam Rockwell will play Fosse and Oscar nominee Michelle Williams will play Verdon and will be created by "Hamilton" and "In the Heights" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.  No air date has been announced.

PRETTY WOMAN Broadway Previews  Jul 21 2018, 10:45:03 AM

Sounds like the same crime that was commited with "The First Wives Club".  "You Don't Own Me" is sooo associated with that film.  To completely disregard that song and choose to close the show with a Vegas Motown was a crime against musical theatre!

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (Reactions Thread)  Jul 20 2018, 05:00:24 PM

Went to see this film this morning and loved it!.  Lily James was amazing as young Donna, as were all of the other actors that played the younger selves from the first film.  Cher commanded the screen for the small time that she was in the film and I wouldn't be surprised if she gets a supporting actress Oscar nomination next year!  I loved how some of the musical numbers were shot like old-time movie musicals.  I cried from the "Dancing Queen" number off and

The Cher Show  Jul 18 2018, 06:08:09 PM

Carlos I agree with you, I want this show to succeed also.  I originally went in thinking that this show would tell her life story conventionally and chronologically.  But at the intermission, I thought "this show is about Cher, what should be conventional about it?".  Upon the second viewing (at the press preview), I was happy with the few changes that were made, but know that they need to do A LOT more work.  I am not going to repeat myself, but I feel that thi

The Cher Show  Jul 17 2018, 12:59:36 PM

I was incredibly disappointed to hear that there wouldn't be a final show in Chicago.  Was thinking about trying the lottery and going and couldn't.  I really want to see how this show will evolve and develop with the story and performances.  I think that right now most of the performances are very good to excellent and the costumes are amazing.  Cher has been an icon for so many decades that she deserves an appropriate tribute in the form of this musical...

The Cher Show  Jul 15 2018, 03:40:53 PM

Not a chance, Cher is in London right now doing press for "Mamma Mia"...
