Hi im drew and i LOVE NYC and Broadway i go to a performing arts high school and major in Musical Theatre there. I go to NYC once every year and see about 8-10 broadway shows over a week! Some of my favorite shows are: Ragtime, Les Mis, Into the Woods, Sound of Music, Next to Normal, Evita, Miss Saigon, Follies, Hello Dolly, In the Heights, Phantom of the Opera, On the Record, Memphis, Once, Billy Elliot, and probably hundreds more!!!
Also, in regards to the leading actress category, would Eva Noblezada not be leading for Hadestown? I want this to be Block’s year more than anything, but if Eva is considered leading, I could see her being more competition than Kelli.

Am also quite curious to see how this one fares.... Saw it last week and thought it to be incredibly lackluster and in some cases woefully miscast, with this being (I would surely hope) the only time in Kelli O’Hara’s career we will ever be able say she was truly awful in anything. Also, forgot to mention, I believe all seats are the extreme side sections of the rear mezzanine but are still full view with no obstructions!

Saw the show last Wednesday evening and got a rush ticket around 4:00 in the afternoon after flying into LGA and landing around 2:00. So I’d say no need to arrive early at all! I believe all rush seats are rear mezzanine for 39, however (as others have noted on here as well) the leg room in these seats at Studio 54 is quite dreadful and very tight, so be advised. Not sure if the aisle seats are available for rush, but I’d definitely recommend an aisle seat if one is available. Best of luck!

With Rudin producing, this will be in a Shubert house so the Lunt-Fontaine would be off the table. I still say this would be a contender for next spring at the Shubert, even though Mockingbird is selling extremely well, I believe a lot of the longevity of the run will have to do with Jeff Daniels’s contract length and other commitments. Dolly was also doing great business when it closed and could have kept running and Rudin still decided to close it, so I could see a similar situation with Mocki

Fairly certain it will be Hercules. It has already been announced that it is in developement and interestingly enough at the Disney On Broadway Concert Series at Epcot this year, before the show they flash posters and pictures of all of the current and previous Disney On Broadway shows and among those was a Hercules poster..... so odds are strong I would say that, that will be the next Broadway venture Disney will pursue. Any word on Tampa, Orlando, or West Palm Beach? Tampa has typically announced in February the past few years, last year was February 4th, and since we are almost to that stretch of time, surprised no announcement date has been revealed yet? Orlando has typically been in March, so I’m guessing that trend will continue? Ive been on a huge Aida kick lately and just think about it. The absolute brilliance. Could also give Heather another Tony and her long overdue chance to once again originate (not create however to clarify) in a Broadway show.
Funny Girl OBC, Mame OBC, and the JRB Parade OBC. Honorable mentions: Titanic OBC, Ragtime OBC, Follies OBC, Secret Garden OBC, Doctor Zhivago OBC, and N2N with either Jessica Phillips or the gorgeous, late, great, Marin Mazzie.
As brilliantly talented as both Diamond and Platt are I can't help but echo the sentiment that they just are far too young for these roles. Casting wise, Leo: Jeremy Jordan, Max Von Essen, Brandon Uranowitz, Daniel Radcliffe, or Jake Gyllenhaal. Lucille: Stephanie J. Block, Carmen Cusak, or Kate Baldwin.
Also, forgot to mention, another moment I found to be hysterically unique with Betty was during the title number, when, before going around the passarelle (either for the song or the encore, I forger which) she did a hysterically over dramatic adjustment of her breasts! This most definitely did not happen with the other Dolly's and was quite unexpected, in the most comic way possible!
At first Betty seemed a little cold, but as the evening went on she warmed up beautifully. She also seemed to slightly stutter during her opening monologue slightly, but nothing major. I thought overall, though she was definitely more subtle and less larger than life, as has come to be expected in a way when it comes to our Dolly's, she was equally as funny and as charming as her predecessors. If anything I give Betty and the casting team kudos for giving us a slightly different take on D
Finally getting around to posting here..... saw the show in Tampa last Tuesday, and hadn't seen any note of this but found it quite interesting that Betty did in fact say "A TRUMP Lady Faire" in I Put My Hand In.... All I have to say is Vanessa Hudgens is so incredibly wrong for Maureen. Nothing about her screams the role whatsoever and she certainly won’t be able to belt it. I can already hear her breathily talk singing her way through Take Me Or Leave Me. And don’t get me wrong I grew up with the HSM movies and was totally fine with her as Gigi, but not this. At all. You can’t tell me that they could not have gotten either another pop star who at least fit the role or let it be played by a newcomer! *sigh

Can anyone comment on the level of vulgarity in the show? Just really curious since the show was marketed as being pretty innapropriate. Are we talking BOM level or slightly lesser? Is it notably much more so than the movie is? Any censored examples? (Sorry for all the questions, I’m just incredibly curious as to it based upon the marketing haha) Very excited for this to come to NYC in the spring with this wonderfully talented cast!
