My gf rushed this past Friday. Got there around 9:30 and was fifth in line. They were told before 10am that the rush tickets were most likely going to be singles. One couple got split between orchestra and mezzanine. We got MM and NN the last seats all the way over house right in each row. Luckily given that location there was plenty of leg room between the seat and the wall. I know the rest of the rear mezzanine is not great at all when it comes to leg roo
There actually is one. I have a friend who was in Elf last year. When you exit the theater, head towards the stage and go out the doors on house right. There is a small lobby area before you hit the doors to the street (8th avenue side) and the stage door is to your left in that small lobby area.
I'm going the second week of October. Very much looking forward to seeing how this will be done. Coincidentally, I saw Rosalie Craig in The Ferryman in the same theater when I was over there earlier this year.

Telecharge is showing $16.95 for all performances through August 17th. Kinda weird that this promotion (if it even is one) extends a few days past the opening night of August 13th.
I went back to the show last Sunday and enjoyed the new cast. The production remains solid. If you can find decently priced tickets, it's worth a return trip.
It's been a while, but I believe that last row on house right may have a partial view of the staircase. This image from the show's website gives a good perspective.
I got rush for the Sunday evening performance this past weekend. We didn't get to the box office until about 1:30pm and were offered Row L rear mezzanine on the center aisle for $30. We didn't ask on the locations for the $50 or $75 seats. The view from there was good, but we were able to move down to about the sixth row center mezzanine at intermission, which obviously was a lot better.
I was at the theater today around 12:15pm and there was quite a line still going. It was out the door and running west towards 8th. My girlfriend was looking for tickets to the matinee and luckily one of the windows was taking walkups for current sale and we didn't have to wait long. Looks like it was a busy morning/afternoon at the Shubert.

From what I've heard it's an additional row of seats at each performance, not any added performances.
