Considering this show is about modern high school, it’s no surprise that he didn’t enjoy it, since he’s pretty far removed from 1960s (?) high school, let alone 2019 high school

I don’t quite understand the vitriol for this show. I

Its official Sunset Blvd The Movie  Mar 4 2019, 11:25:42 AM

NONE of this is coming from Paramount, for God's sake.  Paramount has made one comment thus far: "No comment."  This is ALL coming from Mr. Lloyd Webber's publicity office.  I mean, with every new planted item this becomes not only more obvious but more ludicrous.  And funny, if they've just contracted this writer who has, what, one show under his belt, they'll be shooting this in October?  My goodness.

Clearly Andrew is up to something. If he is making the film himself, his confirmation is all we need. We don't know anything about his private arrangements with Paramount, but

So a bit of both worlds would be desired, but understanding the actual language and non literal approach is the most important thing. Otherwise the whole film is not necessary.

Rob Ashford does have this background, and I think it would be wei

I like that Rob Ashford is going to direct the Sunset Boulevard movie, because he has a theatre background, which gives me confidence he understands the artform and the language of the material and the non-literal essence.

We all know what happens if the director has no clue about the language of sung thoughts on film (Les Mis, Phantom), and makes it too literal, which this artform per definition

Its official Sunset Blvd The Movie  Mar 1 2019, 09:32:24 PM

As I've said elsewhere, anyone who believes this is, well, insert a word here.

Lloyd Webber has been doing this crap for YEARS - it all emanates from his publicity department and NONE of it is real or happening, which is why it says: "Paramount had no comment."  But people will be duped by this BS every time it happens.  I mean, Streisand got about six years of publicity out of her Gypsy BS, which was never going to happen.

I don’t know who made that comment but I’m a 50 yr old Hispanic woman and I completely understand that comment. When I started going to the theater in my early 20s, there were many people who didn’t looklike me. I know for myself, cost was a huge factor and I c

"Paramount had no comment."

Exactly.  What studio was committed to Gypsy - I think there were at least two - they, too, had no comment.

Will Glenn Close get her Oscar for Sunset?  Feb 28 2019, 10:15:11 PM

The composer has been putting out bogus press releases for YEARS about this film.  All fake, all the time.  How many YEARS can you be taken in on this.  Is the composer the "confirmation" here?  Just as Streisand was the "confirmation" for Gypsy?  See a pattern?   No start date, no studio, a director that no one in his/her right mind would EVER let direct a huge budget film (well, I'd never let him direct anything).  As I said, let

Will Glenn Close get her Oscar for Sunset?  Feb 28 2019, 09:39:24 PM

CONFIRMED???  By some hack from the Daily Mail or whatever that is with no other confirmed attribution other than HIS?  Has everyone here lost their sanity?  Rob Ashford?  I mean, this is so ludicrous on every level it's just laughable or would be if everyone here wasn't taking it seriously.  Tell you what, folks - come back in October and if it hasn't happened admit you were had once again by a gossip columnist or a publicist, you know just like all those

Documentary Now's "Original Cast Album: CO-OP" Episode  Feb 28 2019, 01:26:45 AM

For me a fail.  If you write crappy lyrics then you are not parodying properly.  The lyrics are filled with rancid false rhymes.  I don't find this kind of thing funny anyway - a bunch of people dressed like the real people, aping the same things the real people did.  Glad others are having it - I'm not.

Unfortunately, as good as an actor as Betty Buckley is, she sinks the show. She is just not right for the role. She has no comic chops. There is something very off
