KING KONG - Entertaining show.  Oct 21 2018, 04:28:02 PM

According to what is writ here, I feel the monkey should do what it's paid to do, the projectionist kept on the payroll, the leads and ensemble given a long vacation, and the male puppeteers to nightly do the shirtless 'Cell Block Tango [or was it Big Spender?] as done as a one off in Melbourne.

Judi Dench signed on for CATS film  Oct 20 2018, 04:19:34 PM

I have NEVER gone to a movie because of who is in it, it's the subject matter for me, and I will buy a ticket to see this new version of Cats.

Do shows see each other as competitors?  Oct 13 2018, 05:11:16 PM

I think a cast member might wish to be in a show that was more successful, like a waiter waiting for customers and looking longingly at the full house opposite.

Every show is in competition with each other no matter whether it be play or musical or opera or ballet.

It is the public that decides where their money goes--again with the restaurant idea--I look down the menu, decide on the steak, and all the other choices remain untouched by me; chosen, or not, by others or thrown ou

Patti's At It Again!  Oct 11 2018, 03:23:13 PM

It's all just repeated gossip, ad nauseaum and her remarks belong in New Idea or whatever trashy mags. [tabloids?] are in the US.

It's now not interesting what she says, she just gets off on her own self-created role as Queen Bee.

An amazing talent that deserves recognition but I have no respect for dirt dishing even if trashy reporters keep bringing up the obvious.

Time to go on that well deserved journey to 'discover the world', and return to do the occa

Company London  Oct 5 2018, 03:29:13 PM

Tourist...'Oh look Honey, Patty Le pu..something, yes you DO know her you saw her in that lipstick show but you slept through most of it...anyway, she's now in something called Company?, whatever that means. It's supposedly by that man that writes musicals that no one can understand, so what do you think? Honey, are you listening? we have to decide today and No, Dolly  has finished. Think we'll just go to Lion King again cos at least we can finish our burgers and txt the

Dear Evan Hansen going to West End!  Oct 5 2018, 02:58:28 PM

MadsonMelo said: "I wonder if Gentleman's Guide will ever play West End.

Gentleman's Guide is having a short season at the end of Oct. in Melbourne as part of The Production Company's yearly season.

Mitchell Butel stars--can't wait and it's an Australian premiere.

KING KONG - Previews  Oct 4 2018, 05:32:27 PM

How does one do a gif of a gorilla peeping around a theatre curtain?

Can't stop giggling at the thought----'No--Not yet'.

KING KONG - Previews  Oct 4 2018, 03:38:30 PM

This piece really belongs to ALW--the beast, the girl--should be operatic in it's format. I have no idea of the story except the ending[yes, I could google] or who else is in it or who does what. The end of the first act should be a partial reveal of Kong then act 2 opens with the continuation till he is full stage. A great gimmick but the music had better be better than good or the whole thing will end up in a pile of gorilla poo.

Tootsie - Chicago tryout  Sep 29 2018, 04:31:42 PM

I would be curious to know, with all these minute changes being made every single night, are they rehearsed or just told what to do and expected to remember them as they perform?

Also I do check in here daily to check out all reports but reading all the changes means absolutely nothing to me  'cause without having seen this piece, I really have no idea what BC is talking about, fascinating though it all is.

King Kong the Musical  Sep 24 2018, 03:41:22 PM

'we all know' ?

Well I wasn't asked and I have no idea so I hope for all involved that it is a great big hit---then you can say that...'we all KNEW etc etc'.

King Kong or Pretty Woman  Sep 18 2018, 11:47:37 PM

Seriously, which ever one you choose, how will you know that is the right one. You might love/hate the one you chose so you will never know then if you would have loved/hated the other.

You can't have your cake etc and life is full of disappointments and surprises.

Read/listen then go with your gut and too bad if your choice stinks, you've had a night out and something to discuss.

Of course one is about a prostitute who actually doesn't, and the other is about

Tootsie - Chicago tryout  Sep 17 2018, 04:01:15 AM

Thanks Sassy for your reply to my question.

I have asked this before; I LOVED Dustin Hoffman's voice as Dorothy, how distinctive/different is Mr Fontana? Does he soften/falsetto and then sing in his natural high baritone?

Thanks for any response.

Waitress/Beautiful and Kinky Boots will all announce January closings.  Sep 17 2018, 01:58:07 AM

Your heading is a statement of fact.

A question mark changes it into just that, and MIGHT encourage a discussion, but the responses so far have just revealed some very witty posts.

Tootsie - Chicago tryout  Sep 16 2018, 12:24:33 AM

Can someone give me a brief synopsis of the new story line, please.

Why does Dorothy need to get into drag to get into a musical? Did he fail as a male singer but somehow the frock made the difference?

Confused---and does he do the Victor/Victoria reveal?  Gasp!! Never seen that before.

Tootsie - Chicago tryout  Sep 11 2018, 04:08:15 AM

How will he sing/sound like a woman and how will the 'unattractive female' joke work at an audition? Unlikely.

Auditioning for a musical? How ridiculous, and how can those wonderful 'ad lib' lines in the Soap work in a supposed scripted musical?

Let's wait and see.

THE CHER SHOW reveals new artwork  Aug 31 2018, 04:45:59 PM

Art deco? Art Nouveau? Art Nothing---Yes I hate it.

Too dark, too heavy and that font!

'The Cher Show' sounds like a tribute/drag show but less confusion for the 'dumb tourists'.

And again, start promoting NOW who will be Cher and Mrs Doubtfire.

Ryan McCartan is Wicked's Next Fiyero  Aug 30 2018, 06:56:12 AM
