Is Philly actually announcing today? I haven’t seen that anywhere else. Any clue on what time?

Can someone please discuss the concept behind this production?  Mar 5 2019, 08:36:53 AM

bwayphreak234 said: "Can someone describe the set?"

(Spoilers?)

Purple carpet. Three gold walls with a ledge/bench around the stage. The ledge is used as seating for the actors. That’s basically it, plus some furniture that gets moved around.

Sorry if that makes it hard to picture—maybe someone else can describe it better.

Have you never noticed how you can leave your seat at a movie and return without causing much disruption? Try leaving a center section of. a Broadway show for a pee mergency. Not so easy.”

Also, movie theater seats are wayyyy more comfortable. I’ll happily sit through a long movie,  especially with reclining seats and a ton of fo

Wow that was a long night. Aside from a few standout performances (Jackson included), I really don’t see anything remarkable about this production. I will admit that this was my first live Shakespeare experience, and I really struggled to follow along. So that may have contributed. In any case, it’s crazy to go 2 hours without any sort of break.

One thing I did love was the inclusion of Russell Harvard! I thought the signing worked seamlessly and goes a long way for representation.

What’s the deal with order histories not displaying? I have Ferryman for this weekend...it’s my first purchase since the site upgraded, but it’s not in my order history. Should I be concerned?

Stupid question, but is it normal for full casts to be announced this late?

The Official TDF Thread  Feb 28 2019, 12:04:34 PM

Ferryman was added for this weekend and a bunch of dates next week!

Also--My Fair Lady just popped up for a ton of shows over the next two weeks.

Going on Saturday—so hype! Snagged one of the cheap balcony seats, since I’ve heard good things about the Cort’s balcony!

MOCKINGBIRD merchandise?  Feb 7 2019, 12:28:46 PM

I definitely saw merchandise for sale in the downstairs lounge on 12/29. I honestly didn't get a good look, but I'm pretty there was a shirt that said something about consent, and I saw someone with a window card.

MY FAIR LADY and TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD - on the big screen again...  Feb 5 2019, 08:43:47 AM

THANK YOU! I've been trying to watch it (legitimately) online, since I just saw the Lincoln Center production. It's actually difficult to get a hold of, unless you want to buy a DVD.

TKTS listings for last week or so?  Feb 4 2019, 08:44:46 AM
The TKTS app lists what is currently available (once the booth opens for the day), so you could keep an eye on that. Also, if you look up specific shows in the “Show Directory” section on the app, it’ll tell you if they are frequently, occasionally, or never listed.

Overnight bag into a theater?  Feb 3 2019, 10:29:04 PM

BIG BALONEY said: "Miss the free Lincoln Center lockers in the Beaumont and Mitzi Newhouse theatres. Use to put your coat and bag in them and enjoy the shows in comfort. Hundreds just there waiting to be used again lining the theatre interiors."

Are they just going unused? I noticed all of the lockers in the Beaumont yesterday. They would have been super helpful; especially since it’s winter, and everyone has coats, scarves, hats, etc, that take up so much more

Overnight bag into a theater?  Feb 3 2019, 06:11:17 PM
I think it also depends on your definition of “under the seat”. Mine doesn’t always cleanly fit underneath, though it’s not huge, but I can keep it in my space.

Overnight bag into a theater?  Feb 3 2019, 03:27:30 PM
I bring backpacks all the time without issue. I usually just shove it under my seat.

I’ve heard some shade from other audience members at bag check, which is a different conversation, but I’ve never had a problem with security or the house staff.

What kind of bag? Backpack, duffel, suitcase...?

Largest theaters that regularly host touring productions  Jan 27 2019, 10:15:49 PM

The Academy of Music in Philly has 2600 seats. That’s where most tours perform when they stop here, but it’s also used for a lot of opera and ballet.

Considering there are four levels of seats in a U-shape with tons of support poles throughout, there are some pretty bad views.

Mean girls understudies?  Jan 20 2019, 09:53:35 AM
Tee went on as Adult Woman for the first time this past Friday (1/18)!

Steven Pasquale and American Son  Jan 20 2019, 09:49:55 AM
I didnt realize it was written by a white guy until after I saw the show. It raised points I wouldnt normally think about as a white woman, and it showed a perspective that we dont see in the news.

But I cant help but wonder how the play would be different had it been written by a black person.
