Member Name: RaisedOnMusicals

Birthday: 9 - 13
Gender: Male
Location: NJ
Occupation: attorney
Profile: I have been going to Broadway shows since I was four years old. Two of my most memorable moments was meeting and speaking with President Clinton (while he was still POTUS) at "Chicago" during the summer of 1999, and seeing the final performance that Yul Brynner ever gave as the King (it was a Sunday night benefit performance the night that revival closed.) The cast gathered and sang Auld Lang Sygne, and there was not a dry eye in the house.

Favorite musicals: Les Mis, A Little Night Music, Gypsy, Fiorello, Sunset Blvd., South Pacific, Carousel, The King and I, A Chorus Line, 1776, Miss Saigon, and others I can't even think of this minute.

Favorite plays: August:Osage County, Night Mother, Amadeus, Equs, and many more.

Favorite performers: Bernadette, Nathan, Betty B., Kellie O'Hara, Kristin, Jerry Orbach (RIP), Audra.

For reviews, opinions, and even news, it is absolutely acceptable to informally cite the publication or news organization as the source, and not the individual author. You're simply being argumentative.

Well, sales for this show have been exceedingly robust at Berkeley Rep, The Kennedy Center and the Ahmanson, so I wouldn’t get your hopes up. I saw the show in DC and I’ll see it again in NY. It’s a great night of entertainment. A better show than Beautiful in my opinion.

I was skeptical but my god did I fall in love.
I think it’ll get compared to Mean Girls a lot and while I did think the score for MG was slightly stronger this show has ten times as much heart and dare I say even funnier.
Beth Leavel is a shoe in for a tony nom.
I was almost in tears during ‘Unruly Heart’ and I seriously hope this show gets the chance it deserves.
This is definitely my favour

I wouldn’t say that the show has gotten “slammed with negative reviews”. In fairness, the reviews have been mixed, and almost all of them acknowledge the ent

No Broadway Grosses? Is today a holiday?  Oct 15 2018, 06:03:38 PM

Two years ago, the grosses were posted by the League like clockwork every Monday at 3 PM other than on holiday Mondays, and in that case they came up at 10 AM the following day. They are now posted much more sporadically. I don't know why.

I saw her do this live several years ago. I think it was in 2009 and she was in her ninth month of pregnancy. It was a benefit concert hosted by Seth Rudetsky for the Phyllis Newman Foundation. Kristen C and Steph J Block were the other performers. It was fantastic, and this number was the highlight, at least for me.

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 10/7/18  Oct 9 2018, 05:43:15 PM

It’s interesting to see (and I think nice) to see The Band’s Visit keep chugging along with good to excellent numbers. Has it announced recoupment yet? If not, I bet it recoups soon.

It's a crazy business, isn't it, when we celebrate a show that doesn't lose money? And by that I mean, we celebrate recoupment when an investor invests a dollar and gets the entire dollar back.

Wouldn't Dear Evan Hansen be on this list? For a second I was going to ask about Hamilton though that was actually based on Ron Chernow's biography. So I guess it was based in part on "some existing material." But DEH is, I believe, completely original.
