I won the lottery last night and I can confirm that my seat was first row, far right. I will also confirm that there are definitely a lot of....enthusiastic young fans who scream, but it wasn't over the line. I've heard the same or worse than that at other shows.
I noticed that they don't seem to have tickets saved in envelopes by name at the ticket office, so I suspect your rush ticket seats are determined purely by when you show up to box office to retrieve them (and nothing to do with when you purchase them.) I think they just checked my name against the list and then gave me the next ticket off the pile. I would suggest getting there earlier (I believe they start distributing them an hour before the show) for perhaps a better seat.&n

Well you need a picture ID to claim the ticket. Occasionally the lottery guy will make a joke about it, but he does occasionally say school IDs would work. So I would imagine as long as they have some kind of ID to claim the ticket. Shouldn't be a problem f

I don't know if they've changed it - but it was always $40 for the lottery winners. They sometimes have a secondary "lottery losers" ticket sales for more than that if there are still available seats after the lottery is over. Maybe that's what this is?
You can all but write-off HP and Hamilton since the chances of winning are very low and demand incredibly high.
Apparently Mean Girls has also become a very difficult lottery/rush - but for what it's worth, they have both digital AND in-person lotteries and the Wednesday pink rush. In my mind, an in-person lottery or rush for a Wednesday matinee probably has significantly better odds than most other lotteries.
I just sat in this row on Saturday - Dress Circle Right Row A. These are the seats that I was given after winning the Friday Forty. Only Row A is curved around to the sides. I thought the seats were fine. From the right side, I didn't miss any action at all. As for distance, I was probably about as far away as about mid Orchestra Row M-N in that range. How important is the music to you? Mean Girls was very ffunny - but the music/songs are kind of mediocre at best vs Waitress which has some very nice music, of course who knows how McPhee will do in the role.
It depends on what you're looking for, if you just want to have a laugh, Mean Girls is definitely fun. But having seen both, if I had to choose, I would probably pick Waitress.
I went to the in-person lottery for all 3 days so far and surprisingly won last night. I would say that number has been pretty consistent for the first 3 days - about 150+ people for 10 pairs of tickets. That said, the seats are amazing, first row center orchestra with a low stage. They say partial view, but they were probably the best seats I've probably ever had, especially from a lottery.
Same here - entered every lottery since Day 1 and no luck. I wonder if it's really that easy to win. I wonder how many tickets are going to the lottery. I know that there are plenty of tickets available for rush every day.
Rushed Saturday morning for the matinee, got there maybe 15 minutes before the box office opened and they said there were only 30 rush tickets per show, but there were easily 20-30 people ahead of me and I still got tickets in the rear orchestra (far left).
FWIW - from what I can tell - Phantom seems to have stopped offering lottery tickets. I don't believe there has been a lottery drawing available for weeks.

Speaking of shows closing, does anyone know what the mechanics are of actually having a show close "early" like this? Do any advance ticket sales sold for past the closing date get refunded? What happens to the theatre space itself? Did they have an agreement to stay in the theatre for a certain amount of time? Does the theatre just sit empty until they can sign a new show?
