First-ever visit to the Lincoln Center  Aug 7 2018, 12:17:13 PM

Here’s a link to the phone app if anyone is interested...

First-ever visit to the Lincoln Center  Aug 7 2018, 08:01:21 AM

While stumbling around the Lincoln Center website this morning I did find a list of times for the fountain shows that run up to 7:50pm, so I'll catch the 7pm show before heading over to the Vivian Beaumont theater. There was also a link for the Lincoln Center app for iPhone, which has two nice self guided tours called "Touch and Go" and "The Grand Tour" (45 minutes) of the complex area with videos and commentary. Cool that the stairs in front of the Lincoln Center

First-ever visit to the Lincoln Center  Aug 7 2018, 06:25:01 AM

^ ^ ^ I think maybe as a first-timer, and for someone who has longed to visit the Lincoln Center since I was a kid, even for just the architectural aspect of the complex, I’ll be fairly easy to please just sitting at the fountain and taking in the area. I was hoping there were maybe some milestone plaques or other signage of special interest like what you may find at a couple of the Broadway theaters around Times Square, but I’m guessing that’s not the case. Anyhoo, I’

This is sounding more and more like my only option due to the very late time of day, and what I can try to get accomplished after getting cleaned up after a long, hard, hot day in and around the Times Square area, changing for the show, and then eating. That won’t leave me much time to venture out away from the Linco

Charlotte Rae has passed away  Aug 6 2018, 09:54:12 AM

Still watching “The Facts of Life” every morning M-F on MeTV. Also on the “Diff’rent Strokes” episode this morning she quit her job as the Drummond’s housekeeper. Said she needed a vacation. She’ll always be Edna Garrett to me. :)

First-ever visit to the Lincoln Center  Aug 5 2018, 06:19:10 PM

Unfortunately I can’t see the Performing Arts library since I’ll be getting up into that part of town near its closing time. After I’ve checked into the hotel and get cleaned up a bit it’ll be close to 6pm.

And I don’t plan on a full dinner, just a quick bite, since I want to make the most out of the time I have that evening. The rooftop of the hotel has an indoor/outdoor lounge and bar that has a great view of the Lincoln Center.

I imagine I&rs

First-ever visit to the Lincoln Center  Aug 5 2018, 07:51:06 AM

On Aug. 18th I’ll be at the Lincoln Center in NYC to see the evening performance of “My Fair Lady”. I’m staying at a hotel across the street - The Empire Hotel. Since it’s a quick walk over to the Vivian Beaumont Theater, I wanted to spend a little time taking in the Lincoln Center complex.

Prior to the show I won’t have a lot of time to sightsee as I’ll be coming from the Shubert Theater at the end of the 2pm “Hello, Dolly!&

Looking forward to see how they do “Oklahoma” and “Once”, both highly respected and awarded Broadway productions. :)

Pittsburgh CLO, although “locally produced”, does a very good job and gets very good reviews. The cast isn’t just first-timers, but also longt

Betty Buckley in Hello Dolly  Aug 1 2018, 05:02:12 PM

^ ^ ^ Good luck! If it’s anything close to what’s been on Broadway with cast personalities, it’ll be wonderful. But that may take some time. The opportunity to see the show in Oct 2018 and again in Aug 2019 will give me a chance to see how they’ve grown into their roles.

And I’m sort of surprised they announced the Pittsburgh tour stop so far in advance, but it’ll boost sales for the CLO with their other shows. Last year the Broadway N

Betty Buckley in Hello Dolly  Aug 1 2018, 04:46:21 PM

Just called and put my name on the subscription list for the Summer Series next year that includes “Hello, Dolly!” with Betty Buckley. They’ll hold my place in line based on first-called first-served, along with past subscription holders. Very excited to have the opportunity to see the tour twice, the second time in my own backyard (albeit Pittsburgh is a two-hour drive one-way).

The Pittsburgh CLO offers some very good shows next summer,

Charlie & The Chocolate Factory Tour  Aug 1 2018, 10:45:32 AM

Is there anyone here that has seen the show on Broadway and enjoyed it? Just curious. With all the recent posts about very spartan set designs and exploding kids, I’m getting sort of worried. Also, one of my co-workers, who desperately wanted to see this while it was still on Broadway, is dying to see the tour. I’m afraid she’ll be terribly disappointed and write-off ever seeing any more shows.

Come From Away Tour Casting  Jul 31 2018, 05:38:12 PM

This makes me VERY eager now to see the show, when before I was kind of meh. I saw Andrew Samonsky in the National Tour of “The Bridges of Madison County” and loved the guy. Great voice!

^ ^ ^ This is true. The inserts consisted of a trifold with Bernadette Peters, Victor Garber, and cast pictures, and a white bifold insert with the casts biographies.

We had “Waitress” earlier this year. I’m seeing “Aladdin” on Sept. 1st and “Hello,Dolly!” (in Cleveland) on Oct 6th, but “Dear Evan Hansen” is the last show of our season on May 26th. In between we have “The

I already have season tickets for Broadway in Pittsburgh 2018/2019 and this is one of the shows, so I’ll attend either way. We get it a few months before Costa Mesa, so I’ll definitly write something about it. Hopefu
