I saw Shrek the Musical, Catch Me If You Can, Aladdin and Scandalous (when it was still Saving Aimee) in Seattle. That last one was so bad I'm surprised they moved it to New York. Catch Me was better in Seattle. I also saw Big Fish in Chicago and Moulin Rouge in Boston.
A tie between The Book of Mormon and Hamilton-I've seen each three times.
Having actually served a two year mission there are so many things BOM gets right. Made me laugh just as hard every time. I love that show. Rannells was perfection.
I recently sat next to Ava DuVernay at Straight White Men.I told her I was a fan of her work as we were exiting the theater and she thanked me and shook my hand.
I saw Victor Garbor in the lobby when I saw the out-of-town tryout of Catch Me If You Can in Seattle. I didn't approach him as he was with a friend.
I rushed last Saturday on a whim. I walked past the Imperial about 10:05 and saw the line and decided to join it. I got two box seats house right for the evening show about 10:20. Maybe about 12-15 people in front of me.
My nephew is now going to a Kai Green meet and greet (his idol) leaving me with one extra ticket for this Sunday's matinee. Row N
Asking face value of $120.00.
I would meet the buyer in front of the Public a half hour before curtain.
What was your first time in New York City like? Jun 25

April 2009. My friend and I planned a last minute three day trip to NYC to celebrate college graduation. Left after our last final and flew in to JFK at midnight. I will never forget my first look at Times Square all lit up on our way to our hotel. We did all the tourist things like the Statu, Ground Zero, Central Park, Little Italy and the Metropolitan. My friend insisted on walking everywhere and we only took the subway to Battery Park. We saw three shows in three days, Shrek, Blitfhe Spirit

I sat in restricted view mid-orchestra all the way to the side and felt like I didn't miss anything. I think you should be fine but there's always that risk.
Catch Me if You Can ; LA tour Mar 17

The lack of commitment to the concept was the problem I also had with the show. I often felt that it couldn't decide whether it wanted to be a traditional book musical or variety show "revue". I also saw the show in both Seattle and Broadway and agree that it was better out of town. The set and costumes actually felt cheaper to me on Broadway. I don't think I could sit through the tour.
Shia LaBeouf & Alec Baldwin to Lead ORPHANS on Broadway Feb 21

Shia showed great potential back in his Disney days. He was terrific on Even Stevens and I enjoyed his work in Holes, Tru Confessions and The Greatest Game Ever Played. Then he made the terrible choice of doing a string of bad blockbusters (Eagle Eye, Indiana Jones, Transformers). I was really hoping Orphans was going to be a turnaround for him. Instead this happened.

I have tickets to the March 12 matinee and I hope she's in. I saw a Saturday evening performance last year in New York. She had been in for the matinee but Jessica (who was awesome) stepped in for the evening show. I really hope I don't miss Alice again.

What I meant about exposure to the classic musicals is that it can work as a gateway. It’s true that exposure is not necessarily needed to research the history of musical theater or discover the treasures of the past. If one has a passion, as theater is for many of us, then why wouldn’t you want to know its history? Discover great musicals? Find how the past has helped to shape the present state of musicals? Heaven knows, film buffs do similar things with classic movies, praising the ‘Godfather’
My favorite musical of all time is also a musical that was written before I was born, 'West Side Story'. And as has been said, I think it has a lot to do with the amount of exposure I've had to it. The first time I ever saw the film version was in seventh grade when my math teacher didn't feel like teaching for a couple of days. I immediately fell in love with the

While I'm glad I didn't have to sit next to HotJohn in the Rocky Horror outfit, overall I think the outfits are fun.
I usually wear a nice pair of jeans with a polo or casual button up shirt. However, I'm flying into the city from the West Coast with my nephew for the opening night of Promises, Promises. I got tickets up in the rear mezzanine. How dressed up (or not dressed up) should we be?
