I saw Bette three times, Donna seven and Bernadette twice (once more on July 15th). I have no interest in seeing Bette again. She was great all three times I saw her but I enjoyed Donna and Bernadette much more. It's been a great show and had a fantastic run! This show brings so much joy to everyone it touches!
Sounds and looks wonderful! Can't wait to read it. I loved the interview yesterday on Fresh Air. I had no idea that a woman(her name slips my mind) did additional orchestrations for The Sound of Music and The King and I.
I did and I have read several articles about the upcoming film. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm also aware of Garland's vocal capacity during that time period. Judy sounded better then compared to Zellweger in Chicago.
I am a self-identified Judy Garland purest and loved Judy Davis. This looks and feels like a total disaster. Renee will (as far as I've read) be doing her own singing instead of using Judy tracks, as Judy Davis did. She does not have the acting nor singing chops to be touching this very sensitive time in Judy's life.
I too was disappointed that Jennifer's departure wasn't annouceed. She was hilarious in the show and definitely deserved more recognition! Her understudies are Jessica Sheridan and Carmen Ruby Floyd. I am hesitate to see either of them in the role as they don't strike me as comedians. And before anyone says anything, I know Carmen played Gary Coleman in Avenue Q but Gary was more of a "straight man" in the show leveling out the other characters.
Does anyone know how much they are selling signed playbills? If anyone is seeing the show, would you be willing to buy one for me (full reimbursement including shipping)?
Beyond dull. They have the nerve to try and start a hastag promotion with "Which show are you looking forward to?" #PMP(insert show). I almost wanted to respond "would you all like to start over and reconsider the entire season?
This whole thing is bumming me out. Revivals are by far my favorite category and I have a ticket to this and My Fair Lady within the month. I almost wish I could skip Carousel at this point. I'd rather skip it than be disappointed.
Christian Dante White was a revelation yesterday. Just wonderful! A spectacular dancer, singer and actor. I was so happy to have finally seen him last night. He had great chemistry with Charlie Stemp.
I emailed them as well. I'm hoping I get some sort of response.

Actor's Fund performances like this do not have any merchandise. I've gone to many reunions over the years and have never seen anything.
Lincoln Center has the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts and they usually have a great but small theater exhibit. In the spring, it's usually focused on the Tony Awards. Other times of the year, it's opera or theater based. I highly recommend it.
February is historically an awful month for Broadway and theater in NYC in general. Any skilled producer knows that. I'm sure they've built it into their budget. If things don't improve once spring rolls around (March or April), then I'll start to worry. Until then, chalk it up to ugly, cold winters.
This is so concerning to me in this political climate. What is becoming of us if we can't all experience something together and then have differing opinions at the end? Why do these people feel entitled to disrupt a show during a performance? It's disgusting.
I had the exact opposite reaction and I'm not the only one. I thought Bernadette's costumes looked better fitting and more tailored to her body. I always thought (all 3 times) I saw Bette that she was too covered with turtle necks ect. In reference to Victor, the only thing I missed was DHP's puce flowery robe at the end. Victor's was more checkered.
