What about Row K Orchestra Right? I'm three seats from the end. Hoping it is not too obstructed! Can't wait. I am SO excited that so many people from this thread who love Dolly as much as I do will be there so we can share in the final show together (DollyPop, Dottie, EthelMae).
I've been listening to the cast recording non-stop and still get chills at the start of the final chorus of Sunday Clothes and the beginning of the title song thinking about what will be her final a
"And to those dedicated souls that persisted through the Hello Dolly TELECHARGE CRASH of April 28, 2018 - "I'M COMING BACK DOWN THAT STAIRCASE, BITCHES!"
I love her. And I don't mind shelling out this kind of money to see an entertainment legend who truly appreciates her fans.
GOT THROUGH to get my closing show tickets, too! Telecharge was literally showing ONE seat left - Right Orchestra, Row K, Seat 22. And the price wasn't nearly as high as I was expecting either! Not thrilled I'll be so far over but can't believe I got tickets to THE final show for Bette and this entire delicious production! Certainly something to look forward to in the stressful months ahead at work.
And so, so happy to read that Dollypop and so many other Dolly diehar
SAME. Thought I was golden. Selected a single seat in front row of balcony. There were tons of open seats. I click BUY and it tells me no seats are available. SO FRUSTRATING.
I recently discovered this gem of a song and have FALLEN. IN. LOVE.
The Tony performance, in which Sara sings the first verse, brings me to tears about 15 seconds in. Sobbing baby on the way to work this morning. I'm a guy. I'm gay. I recently got out of a six-and-a-half year relationship. My kids are my dog and cat. Yet this song sooo speaks to me right now. It is such a beautiful gift to musical theatre. I've been wrong but I've been brave. I've made mist
Is she that self-conscious (no I honestly don't think so) that she constantly has to take shots at other, much more commercially successful performers (i.e. Madonna, Uma Thurman). Whom else has she trashed without any provoking whatsoever?
You're incredibly talented, Patti. One of the greatest performers in Broadway history. But my God, have a little class.
I just watched a video of the curtain call/speech celebrating the 5th year milestone and I've gotta say:
-I'm not a fan of the two 'newer' Angel costumes for the finale. I prefer all of the original outfits.
-At least one of the Angels looked like he couldn't care lessto be on that stage. He was literally barely moving his arms to the dance number. I hope Jerry Mitchell gave them a FULL OUT tongue lashing following the show.
Both are two of my favorite shows. IMO, HAIRSPRAY is the superior show and has more heart, a stronger book and a better score. It had a very healthy six and-a-half year run.

Timothy Ware. AWFUL. Dreadful. My then-boyfriend and I took his parents to see Wayne during his first run with the show but he was out, so we got Ware. We should have asked for our money back. A totally different experience (And not in a good way). You'd think the understudy would
What are some of the ad-libs Bernadette is doing in the title number? I guess I assumed that was only a Bette thing.

Just saw the news. So sad. Only 69. He gave us the gift of an iconic role that I for one, as a gay one-time closeted Hispanic man, could so richly relate. RIP, our Paul.
Praying that DOLLY shuffles off to Buffalo with Buckley but not holding my breath. We already know we're getting HAMILTON, DEH and it appears MISS SIAGON. So the big question mark is what will take the other three spots.
Has COME FROM AWAY announced a launch date/city yet? I could see that doing EXTREMELY well here with the large number of Canadian subscribers Shea's has. FINDING NEVERLAND launched here two years ago, and ON YOUR FEET! this past fall. It would be great to launc
Re: "Sing out, Louise!" (which by the way was not in the original script. It was handwritten in by Merman. Whether it was her idea or she wrote in an add from the creative team is unclear)...
Does Rose always enter from the back of the theatre down one of the aisles? Did Angela, Tyne, Bernadette and Patti all do that?
The best person to step into the role from a talent, box office and 'perfect fit' perspective would be Reba (which would be fitting and funny considering she replaced Bernadette in AGYG). Reba should have starred in the revival. She would have won the Tony hands down. I think even Bernadette would agree she was a better fit for the role. And she'd be incredible as Dolly.
I also think Cher (yes, Cher) would surprise a lot of people and be a great Dolly. She'd certainly a
There's no question HELLO, DOLLY! gets a lot right. Dolly's first entrance is designed so perfectly... built for huge entrance applause yet still a perfect marriage between song, lyrics and storyline at that early moment of the show.
The only entrance that tops it, of course, is her grand entrance in Act 2. Each of the four times I had the fortune of seeing this production with Bette, my palms literally started to sweat and my heart began beating faster with anticipation of
Mike66 - Wow. So envious of you. And I'll just add... the live recording of her from the show that's out there is evidence of a more vulnerable (at times) but no less domineering Rose. For example... in the final "Everything's coming up Rose!" she begins to break down and cry on "Everything's coming up Roses!" Chilling in its perfect presentation.
