Ugh. Frustrating! I entered but haven't gotten a code either. I wish they would have just put the seats on sale at a certain date and time like all other closing shows do. I guess our best bet may be StubHub - where I'll bet they'll be going for a pretty penny!
In those days, "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp" would never have won Best Song.
It won Best Song in 2005.
You want to talk about a rob job? Dolly Parton got ROYALLY ROBBED this year, with her "Travelin' Through" losing out to "Pimp." It's a shame. That would have put Dolly one giant step closer to the exclusive EGOT club.
Rooting for good reviews for Jessica. I'm sure she'll be great. She's an original member of the Broadway revival cast and was part of the chorus. I was often drawn to her in the four times I was fortunate enough to see the show with Bette.

Were there any adlibs by Betty during the dance break in the title song?
Thanks for sharing your observance of the audience reaction to the blue wallpaper line. I remember a similar reaction to that and the ‘manure’ line during the closing performance.

Before heading to DOLLY last night, I went to TKTS and got a ticket to KB (was a bit surprised that at 50% off it was still $90, but I was 7th row center).
I’ve seen the show multiple times on Broadway and on tour and I believe I’ve seen every Lola except Billy. J Harrison Ghee IS Lola. My favorite from start to finish. Always giving 110 percent. Yesterday he was marking his fourth anniversary with the show (starting with international tour). He carries this show and I can’t say enough

Someone at the stage door said Julianne Moore was there as well.
I did see Bette wipe away tears during Parade. The first time I saw the show was in previews, so it’s anazing to see how she has emotionally evolved her Parade monologue, and how a slight change in the delivery of a word or phrase can be so powerful. Last night, she seemed to deliver it a half beat faster than last time I saw her, but it was by far the most ‘emotional.’ You felt her really missing her late husband and the

Victor Garber was several rows ahead of me. Jerry Zaks just came out the stage door.
What a night. Hard to put words to right now. Best audience I've ever been a part of in a theatre. I literally lost count of the standing ovations. I think there were three in the title number alone. The audience was on its feet for the last quarter of the song.
Gavin broke down during his speech in 'It Only Takes A Moment.' David and Bette were both visibly emotional during the finale.

Just picked up my ticket as well and standing in line. Shaking with excitement. I can't believe the night has come. For everyone else fortunate enough to be here, let's laugh together, cry together, hoot and holler together, soak it all in together. Tonight we are part of history.

Ditto. My one-hour flight leaves at 7:45 tomorrow morning. If they cancel it like they did the day I missed Bernadette's last show, I am getting in my car and driving the 7 hours. I will not miss this. I remember the day I booked my tickets for the closing show. August 25th seemed so far away. Now.. it's less than 24 hours away. Bittersweet, absolutely. But I truly can't wait to share in a magical night with so many people on this board who love this show, and Bette, as much as I
I was also thinking how wonderful it would be to have Jerry or Carol there for the closing show. But I know that is not going to happen due to their health. I do wonder what 'big names' will be there next Saturday night. Perhaps Beanie and/or Jennifer Simard will be there?
And I can only imagine how over-the-top those aforementioned scenes will be... and what Bette will ad-lib during the dance break in the title number (How about "Don't tell the producers - but I'm
Be prepared. Bette is Bette playing Dolly. And it's absolutely divine. I never had the fortune of seeing Bernadette, but most people have said she 'became Dolly more than Bette.' I've seen Bette three times now and in no way was the joy of this show or my experience as a whole lessened because I didn't feel I was transported to Yonkers, New York in 1890. She takes you there. It's just hard to get over the awe of seeing her on stage.
And I thought I couldn't possibly love her any more.
What a joyous, humble, giving, vulnerable human being.
After watching this interview and Donna's, you can't help but have your heart warmed after hearing both of these incredibly accomplished women talk about how this role, and this perfect production, has touched them so deeply at this point in their lives.
Is Jessica Sheridan the only member of the current Broadway cast to join the tour? She's an ensemble member that has always captured my attention and admiration each of the times I have seen this perfect production.
I haven't had the chance to see her, but she is so incredibly kind to her fans on social media. She's responded to at least one of my tweets congratulating her/wishing her well/welcoming her back.
What a great interview. I've seen this production four times and was in it in high school and I got chills when she talked about 'Dancing' and how that's when it all hits Dolly - seeing these two young couples falling in love. Just.. beautiful.
