I find it super sad that people don't know what intermission is. I know it's not very important in the scheme of global things, but here in the USA with people who are fortunate enough to go to a live performance - to go and yet never have been clued in on the concept of 'intermission' I find sad. I have known about intermission for as long as I can remember. But maybe that's me living in some privileged blue coast bubble...

I find that strange..... Iceman seems to be getting short shrift."
This a.m. I was reading the NY Times review which remarked on, and I wanted to underscore as I didn't mention in earlier postings - how the live audience and its interaction with the performance was a fantastic element in the show coming off as well as it did. One key obvious moment was at the beginning when John Legend/Jesus enters the stage during Heaven on My Mind and strolls over to the mosh pit, shaking hands with screaming delighted fans. How was that for the layers

I simply cannot imagine the work and energy that went into a one night only performance."
I so agree with the above -this was terrific in such an all around way. But the camerawork especially - so important when translating 'stage' to screen big or small - was excellent ! From the close ups of action
Saw yesterday. Was not into it after having read the disappointed fans on this board. Thought: why am I wasting time and money? But it wasn't a waste.
I enjoyed it with caveats.
Never saw Carousel ever so had no preconceived ideas of how wonderful it could be. This probably made me enjoy it more. I thought that Joshua Henry, Renee Fleming, and the supporting actors playing Carrie and Enoch were great.
Interesting, the divided opinion. I can see how, if you don't get to go to musical theater much or on a 1x a year trip to a large city, you might listen to cast albums more often....but I live here in NYC and I can't imagine listening to a cast album before seeing a show. I had a big furious argument with a friend about this! Though I am feeling less passionately about it now, I still believe that when I experience a 'show' I am seeing much more than just the music. Yes but wouldn't it be a very sad time in democracy if the "everybody" you talk about is essentially a multimillionaire/billionaire and / or famous celebrity / name recognition (i.e. Bloomberg, Schwarzenegger, Trump, Ventura....

Being able to buy tickets to an entertainment event when I want to (even at 2 o'clock in the morning) may not be a constitutional right, but the way that ticket access to both Springstein and Harry Potter are being controlled means that the little guy (me) is now going to b
Hey MacNYC! I was at yesterday's matinee also seated on the stage!!!!!
I was seated on the lower level, second row, towards the front of the stage, LR 7. Mark Rylance shook the hands of the people in front of me (including an 11 yo old girl there with her mom! quite impressive!) I was too uncomfortable to extend my hand also, but regret not doing so.
I enjoyed the show - thought it was v interesting and loved the staging/se
Lucky you. I myself have been incredibly spoiled by TDF. VERY DISAPPOINTED to pick up TDF seats tonight for tomorrow night's performance from the box office and to see they are ROW J MEZZANINE. Side. And I'll add, "Sigh".
PS Laughing at that memory - "the guy who" created the show....but that's how I thought of it in my 13 yo mind. Of course the show was ALL ABOUTH the dancing female stars. I guess there was some guy/guys who were responsible for it? Maybe you've heard of Bob Fosse. Maybe of Kander and Ebb too? I guess maybe.
Wow. Thanks for trip down memory lane with this Q.
1972- or 1973 - Jesus Christ Superstar - I was 10 or 11. My mom took me and my sister in to NYC from LI to see it. What I recall is the opening moments - I couldn't believe it.
The stage was up, like a wall. In my memory it was as the opening chords to Heaven On My mind (I just had to look up the title!) began, the stage lowered ! I couldn't believe it. As the "wall" (ie. stage) lowered back&nb
Someone posting above wrote that the next release will cost even more. Do you agree with that?
Thank you for the reminder re the refund. I have plenty of time to contemplate/read reviews/hear opinions about the show etc as my tickets aren't until the summer!

Guess I have them now?!! Wow, should I trynot to be too happy till I get a real confirmation email? Or do you guys think I&
What do you think the chances are that the play will run longer than the "18 weeks"? And if you think it will extend, what are the chances Andrew Garfield, Nathan Lane, and others extend with it? Friend thinks she can see it this summer. I am doubtful.

Ruining so many lives"
You really have to put this in perspective. If you lived in Puerto Rico you're life might not be ruined but you'd be hoping just for electricity and water. Not getting a ticket to Bway show doesn't ruin anyone's life. "
Awwww c’mon ! I think it was a tongue in cheek comment! Where&rs
Tried for over an hour but kept getting only $199 option. Finally relented for two seats in the summer, and the darn thing wouldn't work! It said "there was a problem with your order. Check email and if no confirmation, try again."
Meanwhile, NO confirmation in email and WILL NOT ALLOW MY ACCESS CODE to go through, says it's already BEEN USED??!!!!!!
GGRRRR. Like I have an hour to spend holding for Ticketmaster after an hour plus on tr
