I hope to see my first west end show in June. I visit NYC/Broadway at least once a year so I mainly chose shows that is not currently playing on Broadway. I have narrowed it down to these shows and would appreciate any input from you guys. I am also open to any other shows not on my list.
Sunday in the park with George: This is the my top choice for now due to its great reviews during the limited run on Broadway. However I have watched a few clips here and there and I am
I am a Harry Potter fan but, in my opinion, Hamilton is by far the better piece of creative work.
I find that the story of the Harry Potter play is just ok but it is very well executed on stage and it has some particularly really cool scenes.
At the same time, the Hamilton ticket prices are so high in NYC, if you are able to

I always tend to favor seeing musicals over plays so I've seen very few plays, so can't give you much of an opinion.
The only play that I have seen that is still open is Harry Potter (part 1 and 2), the story is just decent in my opinion, but the show is quite a spectacle (not sure if for plays there is the same notion of "book" as with a musical). I would still recommend it, as there are some really awesome effects and acting. The show is very entertaining.

That's a great idea to announce the date even if they don't have the lineup yet. At least people can plan it around their vacation days, or book ahead their hotel etc...
I went last year for the first time and it was a very fun/relaxed experience. it's a great opportunity to hear artist sing songs from shows they were on in the past, cover some pop songs as well as hear some interesting collaborations between different artists. A great effort to bring something new for musical theat

Welcome to the board! Saw his show last sunday and it was great. I got premium seating and the view was great. I would have gotten ringside seating but it was sold out. To be honest the room is so intimate that most seats would be good. I would just avoid the side/back seating, I couldn't tell about back sitting but I saw the people that sat on the side of the stage and it really didn't seem like they had a good view.
The show was great! His talent does go beyond what he do
I would like to ask if anyone has tried that tour and can give their opinion on whether it is worth the time/money.
It seems to be 1.5 hours of walking around the theater district with stories/explanations and then 1 hour inside the New Amsterdam Theatre. I'm not sure how much of the theatre they would allow guests to see.
Debating whether I should try this or I should spend the time instead to see a show (possibly Oklahoma ot Mean girls) .

Sad to read all these comments about Alex Brightman. Saw a few School of rock clips and thought he sounded great and wanted to catch the show with him in the role but never got to. Thought I could maybe instead see Beetlejuice and enjoy his performance but from what I've read here..doesn't sound great...

A bit late but thanks for your answer! I went to the TKTS booth last Sunday asking for School of Rock tickets but unfortunately they only had single tickets left. This is the second time it has happened to me. Ended up seeing The Band's Visit instead. I will definitely try again for School of Rock next time I'm in town.
I have never used TodayTix before so can't say how it is.
I have used TKTS (which I guess is related to TDF but not exactly sure what the difference is between them) I would suggest to download the TKTS app, it shows you all the shows that are currently on sale and the % of discount.
The app is updated live during operating hours. If it's before they open and it's relatively close enough to the time the booths open it'll show you the shows that will be on the boa
I'll be visiting NYC during the weekend of Easter.
Does anyone know if the regular schedule is affected by Easter?
Also, I would like to ask for recommendations about current shows that are new as of this season. On my previous trip I was recommended by people on this forum to see Sunset Boulevard and I was very happy with the show.
My favorite shows include Once, Hedwig, Dear Evan Hansen.
