School of rock better Dewey?  Apr 7 2018, 10:29:22 AM
A bit late but thanks for your answer!
I went to the TKTS booth last Sunday asking for School of Rock tickets but unfortunately they only had single tickets left. This is the second time it has happened to me. Ended up seeing The Band's Visit instead.
I will definitely try again for School of Rock next time I'm in town.

TDF vs. TodayTix  Apr 7 2018, 10:20:47 AM

I have never used TodayTix before so can't say how it is.

I have used TKTS (which I guess is related to TDF but not exactly sure what the difference is between them) I would suggest to download the TKTS app, it shows you all the shows that are currently on sale and the % of discount.

The app is updated live during operating hours. If it's before they open and it's relatively close enough to the time the booths open it'll show you the shows that will be on the boa

School of rock better Dewey?  Mar 30 2018, 07:11:14 AM

Can anyone advise on whether Justin Collette or Conner John Gillooly (alternate) is better in the role?

Also would Conner John Gillooly get scheduled for matinees where there are two shows? For Sunday there is only one show who would be likely to be on?

Thanks!!

CPannullo said: "What kind of show are you looking for? Are you looking for a play, musical, something fun, etc?"

I am looking a musical (although I do want to see Harry Potter but didn't get a code)

I don't mind if it's on the fun or more dramatic side but I am looking for a good score.

@Dancingthrulife2: you are right I have seen much more musicals than plays. The only play I have seen is The Present, which I thought was not good. I m

New show recommendations  Mar 25 2018, 12:04:46 PM
Hi everyone,

I'll be visiting NYC during the weekend of Easter.

Does anyone know if the regular schedule is affected by Easter?

Also, I would like to ask for recommendations about current shows that are new as of this season. On my previous trip I was recommended by people on this forum to see Sunset Boulevard and I was very happy with the show.

My favorite shows include Once, Hedwig, Dear Evan Hansen.

Thanks!!

Hamilton tickets swap - May 19  Mar 13 2018, 07:19:49 AM

Hi everyone, I have 3 NYC Hamilton tickets for May 19th, 8 pm (left orchestra row O) that I am looking to exchange for tickets on either March 31st or April 1st.

I bought these tickets a while ago and it happens I'll be in town for those two days in March/April, so I wanted to see I'm I can save the trip in May instead of going twice in less than 2 months.

Thanks for reading!

Anyone going to this today? Would be nice to hear some reports about it.

Waitress Announcement 9/28  Sep 26 2017, 01:45:10 AM

Jason Mraz has a very nice and clear voice, he also sounds great live so I think he would definitely suit well for Broadway.

Not a huge fan of the show though, while I enjoy the story, I thought the music was not very good. Was excited to go see the show since I loved that song they did at the Tonys (She used to be mine?) but thought the rest of the score was not really memorable.

THE TERMS OF MY SURRENDER  Sep 23 2017, 05:30:31 PM

Green Day fans that went to the show on Thursday says that Billie Joe "playfully (but kind of literal) " wants American Idiot back on broadway.

He misses the show and wants to do more broadway.

It might be a but early for a revival but if Billie Joe wants a do a new show, or write songs for a new show, that'd be great.

Waitress or Miss Saigon?  Aug 21 2017, 05:29:30 AM

Definitely Miss Saigon. Saw Waitress recently, i enjoyed the story but I really find the score lacking, other than "She used to be Mine", I didn't find any other song that was memorable.

Miss Saigon, while not perfect was very good. Beautiful score, wonderful acting.

Broadway in Bryant Park 2017  Jul 27 2017, 08:09:04 AM

Anyone had any tips as to how early to arrive? Whether to bring any picnic cloth or will there be plenty of seats?

it will be my first time going to this so I'm quite excited!

Help choose between a few shows  May 28 2017, 10:09:22 PM

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! It seems like Sunset Boulevard is a popular choice, so I'll go with that one as my first show :)

Regarding the Hamilton lottery: The online lottery is in the morning and you'll know by 11am or 1pm if you've won depending on if there are 2 shows or 1.  Just wanted to be sure you knew and didn't miss the window to enter, I may have misread your post.

Help choose between a few shows  May 28 2017, 06:50:13 PM

Hi,

I'm coming over the city for a couple of days in a bit more than a week.

I think I can catch 2 shows and I'm hesitating between a few and was hoping you guys could help me out. I also wrote why I am interested in each.

Waitress: I love that second song they did at the Tony's a few years ago. I thought the first song they did at the Tony's was just ok. But haven't heard the other songs. If Jessie Mueller was still in the s

Thanks for the tip. I went on eBay and saw these

re: Framing a Broadway Playbill  Jan 20 2017, 08:11:58 AM

Looking to frame some playbills and needed some advices, found this quite old thread.

i want to buy some 8X10 frames and put in my playbills as suggested in this thread. I was wondering if the full playbill will fit/stay in the frame or will I have to remove the cover and only frame the cover? Preferably I don't want to have to remove the cover.

Also, I saw how people frame the playbill with the ticket stub underneath, what would be a good frame size to do that?

thank

Dear Evan Hansen seating options  Jan 6 2017, 08:19:42 AM

Saw some tickets pop up on telecharge for right side orchestra row K yesterday so just went ahead to buy. Does anyone know if the view is ok or whether I will miss some of the action? They are not labelled as partial view, so i really hope they are good enough. Thanks!

Possible to ask St-James for American Idiot playbill?  Dec 30 2016, 08:05:33 AM

Hi,

i am visiting NYC soon and was wondering if it is possible to ask the theatre for a playbill of a closed show (American Idiot). Do you know if theatres in general will carry them?

I'd be willing to make a charity donation or pay for it.

I am also looking to ask for a phantom playbill, preferably with Hugh Panaro (since that is who I saw a couple of years ago, my first broadshow show eversmiley
