Let me explain: Gorgeous music for a "song cycle", lovely idea. But its over-produced, over choreographed, and It's trying way too hard. I hate when people want to make a show edgy, and instead of actually just telling the truth, and tapping into the core and the honesty of the story, they make it fake edgy. Lets put everyone in ripped jeans and cut off t-shirts and cornrows and strip down the set, and hunch our shoulders over

Hello -
As a representative of the Blacks, I have a favor to ask. Please take the word "blackify" out of your vocabulary, and throw it in thee NEAREST trash can. That's disgusting. You cannot be serious. That is not a thing. We're just walking and breathing and being great

Does Audra sell? Is Audra controversial? Does Lin-Maneul sell? Is he controversial? I can keep naming, but I'm tired..... Just cuz its the obvious choice or the same old choice, doesn't mean it's the only or the best choice.....
How about somebody, ANYBODY, that isn't a WHITE MAN!!!!! Dear Sweet Lord we are TIRED of WHITE MEN HOSTING. Quiet as its kept, We don't want James OR John OR Neil. WE FREAKING DON'T! TITUSS would kill! AUDRA would KILL! BILLY PORTER would live! We need a break from 10 years of White hosts!!!!!!!!!!! Heck, last year ONE wasn't enough and they made us suffer through TWO. We're tired. And THEY are tired.

It's Hamilton. They can certainly afford wigs. They also have the clout to say "If you want to be considered, you must be willing to grow your hair long" the same way Fun Home requiredkate shindle to cut her hair off. And it seems like they us

We literally have 9,026 shows of white people whiting, but because we had "Motown", having a Temptations musical is too much? Okay, Connor........Thanks for that. *rolls my eyes back into blackness*
Why is a curtain call video the way to remember a show??? Why not see the show, keep your program and ticket stub, and see who you meet & take pics with at the Stage door? Just.....do better. LoL
Well....This could get interesting. I'll always wonder who bought the NYTimes to hush that article. Maybe Buzzfeed will pickup where the Times left off....
She also travels the world as her own boss, making money and not having to pay an agent a dime! Lil white girls pay BIG money for her to teach them how to riff. She creates her own schedule and does what SHE wants. Broadway is not the end all be all, especially when you dont fit the mold. Waiting for your phone to ring, waiting to be cast, waiting for the right show is NOT the way to live. She's found her niche and her lane. I give her MAD props.

Thats a WHOLE LIE!!!! Of the OBC Schuylers, only Renee wore a wig, and both Sasha & Ariana wore their natural hair. There are women in Waitress who aren't
I mean, it's interesting to me that Fences was this big sell-out hit, but now Denzel is doing this 4 hour Irish drama and it's a pretty easy ticket to get. How come the Black Community came out in droves for that, but not this? Is it the playwright? Is it the play? Etc. Just find it all interesting."
Hmmmm You really don't know? Did you see how Fences was marketed? Did you see the number of Black faces and names on the flyer? They actually marketed it TO the B
Lord. Do Y'all KNOW how rough the weeks leading up to the TONY awards are? It's ridiculous! There's all the other award shows, you're doing interviews and press and Good morning America and The View, there's rehearsal and camera blocking rehearsal, not to mention (at OOTI especially), they are losing SEVERAL cast members very soon (Alysha, Grasan, Loren, Alex, etc.), so they're doing rehearsals AND put-ins. The day of the awards show you have to be at your theatre at 8
Lord Jesus. Y'all aren't familiar with enough Black Broadway women to have this conversation. Did you actually say Mya? Adrienne Warren is headlining as Tina dang Turner, Ariana as friggin Donna Summer, and you want them to take career steps Backwards to play... Deena? Renee would NEVER. She's 3 years from 50, come on!
Here's a short list of some Black Girls for y'all to google for Deena: Felicia Boswell, Ashley Ware-Jenkins, Amber Iman, Aisha Jackso

WAITRESS only lets Black Women play the fat role.
HAMILTON only lets dark-skinned Black women play Peg/Maria or Angelica .... point me to a dark-skinned Eliza - not a swing or a cover... it's never happened...
I could keep going but I'm already exhausted
There's a PLETHORA of Black women problems on Broadway. This is the Best role and she's going t

Didn’t know who she was when i joined this board 10 years ago. She was in high school. Just think she’s very talented and the proof is in the pudding. In what, 5 years, she&

But in Broadway's Frozen, Anna's Father is Black and her mother is White.....so a Black Anna would need no explanation.........cuz it makes sense. Having White Elsa and White Anna is actually what doesn't make sense, when you look at how they cast the parents.....
